I work in SF(worked around Bay Area) for about 10 years, and I'm so fckin guilty of going out on Fri (and Sat, and some Sundays) with da crew and with my boys.... I also eat out every fck lunch, and get coffee/bfast at Starbucks or coffee/cafe before work. don't do what I did kids, and you'll save 2.5-4k/yr. easilyyyy. It was only during covid I came to my senses and realized how stupid I was with my spending/finances. I really regret being lazy, not packing lunch/coffee for work, not having 'free' coffee at work, and just not being mindful wasting money to get pickled on Fridays. I would guess probably 10k-18k down the toilet on the low-end (19-22k on the high side) when working in the city. sheesh :(

I don't live in NYC but I do live in a bigger city so this was so useful to me! Any tips on how to tell parents as the eldest brown daughter that I want to stay at my own place at 22 after my lease ends? I'm going to be working and everything but they want me to stay at their house :( it's really bad for my mental health and I'm struggling to put up boundaries because of the gaslighting. Thank you for being such an inspiration to independent unmarried brown women 😊

I spend $1300 a month on all my bills and food living in NYC but I’m pinching pennies (couponing, chasing sales, saying no to a lot of events) so it’s possible but definitely requires sacrificing

$1300 is ridiculous small for NYC. Hats off to you! You are doing incredible but surely you can increase your lifestyle a little if you want. The average salary in NYC would allow you to spend more than that surely? Are you saving up for a big purchase or something? 💕

I'm moving to NYC from Colorado in less than a week and I love your vids! I've heard a lot of negative things about ClassPass (e.g., terrible customer service, points being worth less over time, places you book with not recognizing your ClassPass booking, etc.) have you had any issues with it?? very hesitant to try it because I've also heard about people being charged for the "free" trial and jumping through so many hoops to cancel it

Hello from Berlin. I Like you video so much and how you explain it. It' s so interesting and i didn' t knew that live is so expensive in NYC. So for me is impossible to visit or live in NYC. But you are so good in saving money. I also save have a lot of money with my life-style because the prices for energy and heating going Up now. And we have now a high Inflation rate Here from 6%. For example i Bake my own Bio bread.

Yes, you should do it. Berlin is a super beautiful City and we have so many museums and exhibitions, you would love. And we have also a lot of beautiful parks, lakes and interesting Locations and the History of the cold war you should have seen. And the best Thing for you is: It IS so much cheaper. For example a bear in the Supermarkt next to my House IS only O,5 Euro. You can buy a Museum card for Not even 50 Euros and then you can Go to nearly all museums for free. Potsdam IS Not far away . Maybe you have Heard about Sanssouci. Come. And If you need a Guide i can do this Job for you, No Problem. But you should Go in Summertime between June and September. ❤
