Hey guys! If you are new here and coming over from Johnnys channel I wanted to say hi. My name is Christian and I make travel videos here on KZbin and it's thanks to this passion for travel, I was able to slowly teach myself how to create videos and this is what empowered me to escape my 9-5 job as an accountant in 2016. If you wanna see one of the videos I'm most proud of, I'd recommend you start HERE: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKfEe3WBad2ImsU Thanks for all the love and support guys and for every like on this video I'll be donating 10 cents to this community of miners (up to 15,000 LIKES) See you in the next one

Development is made here and there but it takes time. You'll also be surprised, you might think they are very unhappy. But, I lived in the country along side people who earn much less than these men and I also lived in a super posh area in the center of London once. I was 100x happier living in the country than I did in London with all its advanced, structured, "rich" way. There is something about being among people who just get by that's so peaceful. They care about their community, they are selfless, open to others, appreciate simple things and go with the flow of life. As for the smile, its the custom that even during the hardest of times will be offered. It comes automatically. In their country, a person who doesn't smile will be considered as unapproachable, rude and arrogant.

20-30 USD a day is actually quite a lot of money if you live in rural area Indonesia. It's a lot of money even if you live in Jakarta or any bigger city in Indonesia. That amount of money is indeed small compared to what people earn in western country, but remember, it also quite cheap living in Indonesia, and it's cheaper in more rural part of the country. FYI, the minimum wage in Jakarta is around 300 USD a month, about half of what this people make.
@orochinchin39983 жыл бұрын
different standart i guess, 20-30 usd each day that a lot of money. for indonesians 10 usd its enough for 2-3 food suplies. and if you can cook you can buy raw material and cook it, its enough for 3-4 days i guess
@iamleoooo3 жыл бұрын
@@machinery4623 not really. If you live by yourself alone sure it will be enough for you. But for the people who has to provide their family it is barely enough. Especially to get tertiary things to entertain whole family its not enough

The hospitality and the kindness of Indonesian people is really amazing there. I have visited Ijen Volcano about 8 months ago (October 2020), unfortunately on the rainy season so we cant set our tent or sleep in outdoor. Fortunately local people give us free lodging to sleep in their room, and he also give us blanket because the weather is really cold. I still remember his name is "Hasyeem". I hope I can visit Ijen Volcano next time, the scenery is just fantastic!

I climbed mount Ijen on my road trip a couple weeks ago and I did meet some miners. I was fascinated by their work. As a young boy, I cannot imagine what it was like.
