St. Charles looks very nice. Couldn't stand living in L.A. too big, too crazy. Been living in Idaho Falls for 5 years, and St. Charles kinda reminds me of it... can't wait to get to Missouri.

Just moved into streets of st charles. Love the area! But also I'm learning a bit about the riverpointe development right next to this, and more burroughs of development that the mayors office seems very excited about. Not sure if you've done a video on that but it seems right up your alley!

@@LivingStLouis Sweet that would be awesome. Also just so ya know, I've been loving your content. I grew up in Ballwin but just moved back from Ames IA after graduating and realized I never really got to understand all the different parts of st louis really well. I've been watching your videos pretty constantly for the last month or two to understand all the different parts of the metro area better. Keep doing what you're doing! Love the content.

To give y’all the honest perspective, I’ve lived here my whole life. The environment is perfect fo old people and family’s who wanna have a safe environment for there kids. Not much to do for a youngin tho, but it’ was very peaceful, and now that I’m getting older, I’m forever grateful I was raised here.

If you need to know any history about St Charles please feel free to ask. Bales Park is named after my father. My Grandmother lived on the cobble stone for 39 years. I can remember $.26 gas.😅

@Contriva
@Contriva 3 жыл бұрын
If you dont have a personal vehicle you may be spending a lot of money on transportation.. there's no public transportation from St. Charles to St. Louis. If you don't want to triple the commute time and would like a straight ride there, your only options would be ride share apps or taxi which can get expensive fast. Also, I dont really recommend the public transportation around the UMSL area unless you are familiar with St. Louis. I work near the UMSL area and have had a few coworkers get jumped and robbed at the bus stop in the morning on their way in.

Yeah, I would recommend getting a car your going to want one anyway if your planing on living in St. Charles cause while we technically do have a local bus system it’s kind of a joke. I literally can’t even tell you the last time I saw one operating outside of an event when they been pressed into shuttling people between the location and parking lots halfway across town.

@garrettancel
@garrettancel 2 жыл бұрын
There is a small hispanic population.. I believe they make up about 4 percent of the population and black people make up about 5 percent of the population.. Mostly white people, however.
@rockarollawmn
@rockarollawmn 2 жыл бұрын
Minorities are ALWAYS welcome as long as they are fully respectful, polite, law-abiding, hard-working, not causing riots, not squirting out welfare babies, not playing the victim/hating on other races, are being a POSITIVE member of society, not having dozens of baby-daddys, not on hard drugs, not sucking off a government teat, & not adding to negative stereotypes. Otherwise, if they fit into the stereotype gig, they can move to north St. Louis- a PERFECT place for them (NOT the suburbs) and they ALL can make a permanent move to Chicago. Ditto whites as long as they are respectful, hard-working, not having dozens of baby-daddys, not on hard drugs, not sucking off a government teat, not squirting out welfare babies, law-abiding, polite, not acting like a rainbow-haired libtard victim (Sh!t stirrer), & not adding to negative stereotypes. Otherwise, if they fit into the stereotype gig, they can ALL go live in Texas since it's becoming the new California.

The racial makeup in the 2020 Census was 79.23% (55,850) white, 7.75% (5,460) black or African-American, 0.25% (175) Native American or Alaska Native, 3.28% (2,315) Asian, 0.06% (40) Pacific Islander, 2.73% (1,925) from other races, and 6.71% (4,728) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 5.7% (4,016) of the population. If you need more diversity, Ferguson "Hands up don't shoot" is just across the river just a bit

When I google "grocery stores" in St. Charles, there doesnt seem to be very many higher end options. The BEST I really see are a couple mediocre looking Schnucks and they seem to close at like 8 pm and 9pm (horrible hours). Are those the best grocers St. Charles has to offer? Impressive communitues have impressive grocery stores. Am I missing something? Could you name a few nice grocery stores in St. Charles for me?
@LivingStLouis
@LivingStLouis 2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you would consider high end grocery stores, but there are Schnucks as you mentioned, Dierbergs, Aldi and Target in St. Charles. There's a Fresh Thyme next to St. Charles in Weldon Spring, but I'm sure the hours for all these places will be similar. There's no Whole Foods in St. Charles county if that's what you're looking for

@@zamzam6401 I dont care. Its 2022, communities need to pick themselves up and get back to normal. I find it hard to believe the st charles community cant hire a few more and open the grocery stores at least an hour longer. Its not much to ask for at least a 10pm closing time. Cold severe weather would be a valid excuse though. I can understand that.

the guy doid a great job summing up St Chuck. I have lived in the St Louis area since 1970 and I never recall hearing anything bad about St Charles. No crime all over the news nothing! I have been there many times and I would say it would be a great place to raise a family! The Family Arena was not mentioned though. New Town - I LOVE IT! ...BUT... it is way to pricey and with the interest rates going up I would not consider buying a home right now anywhere! New Town even has its own beach! The canals you can swim in them, kayak, or just lay on your floatable device!! It does look like a movie set with many houses that have a 19540's-50's look, Oh yeah, this video was uploaded in 2021? Well back when St Louis City and county were masking up St Charles was not! A big plus. St Charles county leans more 'conservative Republican' so there is not as much fear and anger and nonsense going on there if that matters to you.... and it should! Overall St Charles is a nice place to live!
