Great video! Do people know some basic English there? I’m so afraid I won’t be able to communicate with anyone
@dpashutskii
@dpashutskii 2 жыл бұрын
@@camillabrandao_ads Thanks! Yes, many people speak English in Tbilisi. Especially young people, the older generation maybe not so much. I know many people who have lived in Tbilisi with only English for years, so it's absolutely possible. Bear in mind that cities like Batumi are much harder in that sense. Most of the people speak only russian there.

my daughter in law is from Tblisi, Georgia. She say cost of living is very low there. I could live on my retirement (3 of them) very easily. Might try Georgia some day; never know what tomorrow brings !
@dpashutskii
@dpashutskii 2 жыл бұрын
@@wa9neu It depends on the country you're comparing to. Compared to most western countries, yes, the cost of living is low. Currently, rental prices are crazy because of the war and many refugees and people fleeing belarus and russia, but I think it'll normalize. It's a great country, so I definitely can recommend staying here!

What's the COVID situation like? Are masks required everywhere or are the rules more relaxed?
@dpashutskii
@dpashutskii 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. COVID situation is pretty relaxed here. The masks outside and inside are mandatory and also gatherings more than 6 people but that's basically it. Most of the cafes and businesses are operating as usual and people are not restricted to do anything.

Useful information, thanks! I'm vegan (not vegetarian), do restaurants accommodate vegans too?
@dpashutskii
@dpashutskii Жыл бұрын
It's much harder to be a vegan in Georgia, since most of the local cuisine contains cheese and eggs. You'll probably have better luck in specific vegan places. I haven't checked how HappyCow popular in Georgia, but you probably find something there.

Hello there, Great video. I would like to know from you the following please: Is the local tap water safe to drink, cook and brush our teeth with ? Are bachelor apartments, or single rooms for rent popular and easy to find? How is the local medical, dental and eye care service costs? How much are prescription and sun glasses? How is the visa situation for expats? How easy is it to open a bank account? Is the country in general safe ? Are diamond engagement rings the norm among locals or is it something new among expats only? How much are ATM money withdrawal fees? It would be nice if one day you could do a detailed video about the alternatives of transferring money from abroad to the Philippines. Can you really see yourself living abroad in your late 70's and 80's? Are lawyers fees expensive? Thank you,
@dpashutskii
@dpashutskii Жыл бұрын
Yes, water is safe to drink right from the tap. Thanks Here are your answers: - Single rooms are not as popular but you can still find them. - I have only done a few vaccinations in Georgia so not very familiar with their medicine but I only heard good things. Some of my friends go to Georgia from Europe for medical. - No idea about prescription and sunglasses - You don't need a visa to enter Georgia. - It's easy to open bank account unless you're from Russia - It's one of the safest countries in the world except for some groups of people. It's very conservative and religious country so it could not be safe for open LGBTQIA+. - I have no idea what is diamond engagement rings and why is it popular - Withdrawal fees depend on the ATM company, some have 0% fees - I know literally 0 about transferring money to the Philippines hence I can't do video about it. - I am not sure how to reply to that because I am sure I'll never go back to my home country so I guess it yes? But also is it still "abroad" if you live in another country for more than you lived in your home country? :) - Never used lawyers, it depends on the lawyer I hope it helped!

What's up bro. My biz partner and I are moving to Tbilisi Oct 9th. We're getting an Airbnb for a week and then gonna be looking at apartments in the Vake area. If you got any tips or recommendations feel free to share. Cheer man, thanks for the vid!

Vake is awesome! I'm planning to move there as well once my lease ends. I would recommend to rent on flat areas so you don't need to take steep roads. We have a lot of that stuff here in Tbilisi. The best website for rent for long-term is ss.ge/. The price in Vake a bit higher but I think it worth it. If you have any specific questions, let me know!

How have the prices changed since the Russians started coming in? I read something about apartment now costing $900-1500+. Do you notice other things getting more expensive too? Would be a cool video on how things are now.

Prices definitely rised quite a bit. I left Georgia so I don't have an immediate answer but my friends rent a place for $1400. It's a really nice place in the center of Tbilisi but still it's A LOT of money for Georgia. One year ago it would have probably cost around $700. I don't think restaurants/taxi and other services are changing prices. Maybe a little bit but it's not a trend.

Heading to Georgia in about 2 months (1 thai and 1 Canadian) so we are visa free! Are there any requirements or questions from immigration on arrival. Like onward flights or sufficient funds or insurance? Or just a drive get a stamp and enter? Thank you

Hey, Nope, no additional info or documents needed, just come here and enjoy one year visa free :) I've never driven by land though but I don't think it's any different from the plane. Just make sure you know your license and plate rights. I think you can drive with the foreign driving license and plates for 6 months or 1 year. Then you have to replace it with local ones, something like this.
