And yes, I understand completely what you mean when you say you love Czech republic. Only at some point in life you realize how our nature actually gives you these warm feelings. It's not like Alps or Norwegian fjords, it's not monumental, it's just warm, cozy, even romantic

cheers, the trees along the way (besides the shade and overall cuteness) were planted from 17 hundreds when the draft (national army) were established. The soldiers who survived their duty were released when the trees were giving fruit so that the soldiers had something to munch on on their way back.

This has got to be in Moravia. I used to work in a place called Mikulov. Lots of wine making. Two of my students had wine cellars, one was 500 years old. The best wine I ever had, outside of France. The people were friendly compared to Prague, which was my home for a while

Randomly found this video and I find it funny, how you get confused about communicating with strangers. Here, no one is nice to people they don't know, we're polite at best. You are not supposed to ask how people are doing, in a shop you pay and you leave. That's it. Even though I've never been to America, I feel like everyone there is fake. Why would you smile and make conversation with a stranger, like I don't care about your response to a question about how you are doing if it's socially unaccaptable to not say you're doing good. But other than my rant, it's nice to see people liking my country. Everyone is saying how stuff is expensive, how politicians are useless or just trolling and how if you are smart, you leave in persuit of better pay elsewhere and you are just like, yeah Czech Republic, love it. I am honestly afraid to imagine what it's even like to live in the USA.

Repka is rapeseed in English. It is used to make canola oil and is grown all over Europe. Some people are quite allergic to the pollen and are just miserable when it is in bloom, despite its pretty appearance. How on earth did you end up in CR? I will always regret that my parents emigrated to the US when I was 11, but I understand why they felt they had to do it at the time. The happiest part of my life was my childhood in CR. I have never recaptured the feeling, although I have come closer since leaving the States 5 years ago and moving to northern England.

As somebody pointed out, you don't ask random people how are they doing. You say "zdravíčko" (semi-informal good day) and "děkuju, nashle" (thanks- if appropriate- and goodbye). Stranger asking you "how are you" is indeed bit strange to average czech person. You can do some polite small talk or joke a bit with cashiers and such if situation is right, but "how are you" is not it. They are dealing with people all day, how do you think they are doing?

@@czechsI was born an raised in the tri state area between the outer boros of nyc and central NJ .. I also have UK citizenship via applying thru my parents bein UK nationals .. ive been living in the UK and checking out various parts of europe over the last few years ... As of the last 3 yrs my partner who is czech and I have been throwing around the idea of relocating to CZ as well. Its kinda funny as im 35 and have worked in IT as a DBA and more recently workin as an azure/aws enginner in remote contract roles, which has been really nice and flexible. My question for you is if you are working in IT for a czech firm or even a multi national company ... has the irs followed up with you? Cause once i began working and opened a uk bank account, i got a kinda creepy letter from uncle sam askin me to essentially confirm that i spend more than half of my year in the UK.. and if not then id be on the hook for US income tax on earnings from work from UK role ... there was also other caveats such as, the irs will give some concessions if the nation ur living/workin in has a higher tax rate
