Star Citizen is an open development, crowd funded project from Cloud Imperium. Consisting of 2 games, Squadron 42 a single player, story driven campaign putting you in the middle of the Vanduul attacks as an up and coming UEE Navy pilot, and Star Citizen, a highly detailed
first person MMO set within a persistent universe where there are no limits. This includes, space, and ground aspects, massive spaceships with full interiors and interactions, a full dynamic economy which reacts to the players actions allowing for anything you can imagine.
It is all being built on the StarEngine (a modified version of Amazon's Lumberyard Engine).
Please bare in mind that this is heavily WIP and in an alpha state in which much of the foundational tech to make it a reality is still being developed. Both games do not have set release dates yet but you can play the alpha build for the PU MMO which makes consistent progress
with quarterly patch releases throughout the year.

HAH!! That was my 400i! I left it because I had a dead player on board that I could not get out of the ship, and it would not let me load cargo because it said the ship was occupied. So, I left it open and did the backspace fast travel back to home and respawned it.

Your vids are a pure joy to watch, the lifestyle, the editing and the music selection. So often we rely on being spoon fed by games instead of being creative. You show perfectly what can be done using imagination and the game mechanics we have right now. SC has a greater depth than a lot of players imagine.

It is still possibly to sell the "stolen" cargo at for example Grim Hex. We found that out yesterday. We haven't tried any other terminals besides Admin at GHX

The SRV tractor beam is a tow beam. It doesn’t function like other tractor beams. It doesn’t have the rotation or push/pull functionality on purpose.

Rappel is a great place for scrap ships in the aus server sometimes it is glitched with under 1 fps so people just backspace usually 3 or 4 game rules c2s parked up

SRV beam is different to other beams All work like the good old Gravity gun. SRV works like a rope - that is why the distance is relativly constant, and mostly in gravity - objects are under you, not directly behind. Originally SRV had 1 huge Tractir beam for towing and 2x small (small doscic in the model) for stability dorring transport. Most likely this will change when more towwing gameplay will exist

Had a great night in SC the other day. Rented a Cutlassand Roc and took off to mine. Found a great pod of Hadanite and got the ROC out and just as I started mining I died because I had forgotten to put my helmet back on at the station. Woke up at the station and thought of a rescue mission. Flew back in m Titan Avnger and managed to find my corpse, Cutlass and ROC intact and thought "great", now I can just leave my Titan and here pick up where I left. Then in my zombie mode I overcharged the first rock (never done that before) which then exploded and damaged the ROC and my Titan. Defeated, I left the Cutlass and ROC and barely made it back lol...time for bed...

If you’re carrying a box and need to straighten it up clockwise or counter, you can drop on the ground to straighten it up.

Lovley! I did the same in Dual universe. The Scrapyard sold some ships we found abandond. But the basebuilding, is there any ETA yet? So that you can get a pece of land and build on ?yet?

RMC is sold in specific places in main cities I believe. So after a salvage run, if you have RMC and Construction materials you will need to go to 2 separate locations within the city to sell.

Elsewhere I saw someone suggest using the SRV to bring a Vulture with you. Sounds overly complicated and risky, but it might be a useful combo on occasion.

Should work the same as salvage missions whereby to avoid getting a CS2 with a direct tow you sit in the pilot seat of target ship and then tow and all good.

what's the system you playing on? do you get many server lags or load stuttering. i'm using a 3080, i7 10700K 32GBDDR and set my page file to 16000-32000MB. But still get load stutters quite a bit. It's not unplayable by any means, just wondered if i can iron them out a bit. Loving the episodes and just subscribed to your channel. Keep it up :)

I hope they add a better effect than the ugly green outline around objects like this (and cargo crates). Make the object shade a dark green instead with an effective tint over it, would like far better than a naff ousting. I like seeing towing actually working, I melted my SRV because I couldn’t see any use for it haha

I do have the feeling that this kind of emergent game play is going to be 'outside' of what many might consider "regular gameplay" that most will indulge in. I'm glad though that this free form type of gameplay where peeps can explore what ideas they have in their heads and see if they are possible is a thing they can do. Never know, some clever fella might come up with something that content and mission structures can be built around!!

This is exactly what CI and CR specifically want for SC. As more systems and mechanics come along, people will see that the game is being intentionally designed to be able to do exactly this. The missions CI create are just another option, while emergent gameplay is the main focal point for star citizen and has always intended to be this way

This would be best done with a parter I think. Have one person take the illegal tow contracts in an SRV and bring the ships to your salvage yard so you a) don't have the waste time searching for ships since it just gives you the location and b) you make extra money just for the towing.

I did something like that on stream yesterday. I dropped off ships to a location close to astors, while a viewer went and scraped / disintegrated them, and gave me a % of what they earned. Was a nice (almost) passive way to make money without putting in too much effort. A finders fee if you like

They’re in the buildings where the open box, full of mineable are found. They are pretty difficult to spot so just run around in there holding to see what gets highlighted. They don’t function properly yet tho so you’re not missing much by not having one

I manged to tractor beam a ship ( in space ) away from a landing pad with the Vulture LOL but I did get a crime stat when I tried to salvage it right next to the station LOL We need the ability to tow abandoned ships . when Base building is in and I get a little base It would be great to have a repair pad for other players to use ( pay for ) and the need for me to go out and get the salvage to feed the repair machine. I was told that with the ship tractor beams you have to use L-ALT and scroll wheel to move closer so maybe L-ALT and R to rotate ?

9:00 I was VERY disappointed with the SRV tractorbeam. It seemed that it was missing components of maneuvering your load that were already in place for existing tractorbeams (rotation and distance adjust) as well as missing one huge CRITICAL thing that should have been made available. The ability to maneuver the ship while in the tractorbeam view. Sure, the controls are reversed... but that's all part of the trade. But it is essential that the ship operator be able to see their towed load while placing it at the destination... ON ITS FRIGGIN LANDING GEAR! lol

I hope they allow us to make a our or own village if you know what I mean where you can have others close and there not a 2km say gap between land purchases.

Unfortunately, my usual gameplay loop is bugged right now but I enjoy playing like this. I usually fly around asteroid fields while listening to like Jazz or LoFi in the Vulture scrapping panels. Sadly, the panels are currently invisible. I don't know if this was intended by CIG or what.

I'm not sure yet. I thought about giving it a try, but then I read a reddit post that says Star Citizen is part of some other single player thing Squadron 42, so it's a little confusing. Then I saw that it says that you have to buy ships with money. So if I crash my ship I have to drop another 60 dollars?

Oh I got you. I've watched tons of content on it. I even got to play on this free thing in VR a few years back on the oculus quest 2 at the time. So basically when you purchase a pledge pack, your ship will come with insurance that will last a certain amount of time. Usually 24 months, real time. You can then increase the duration of the insurance through in-game currency, but you will likely upgrade or swap ships long before that time occurs. Though I believe it's better to keep it on all your ships as you'll make more and more currency as you work your way up.@@gr3yh4wk1

Basebuilding is gonna be a shitshow in star citizen... its going to just turn the game into space Rust. Your pleasant shipyard will get bombed 15 times a day. And destroyed every night while you are offline.
