Star Citizen is an open development, crowd funded project from Cloud Imperium. Consisting of 2 games, Squadron 42 a single player, story driven campaign putting you in the middle of the Vanduul attacks as an up and coming UEE Navy pilot, and Star Citizen, a highly detailed
first person MMO set within a persistent universe where there are no limits. This includes, space, and ground aspects, massive spaceships with full interiors and interactions, a full dynamic economy which reacts to the players actions allowing for anything you can imagine.
It is all being built on the StarEngine (a modified version of Amazon's Lumberyard Engine).
Please bare in mind that this is heavily WIP and in an alpha state in which much of the foundational tech to make it a reality is still being developed. Both games do not have set release dates yet but you can play the alpha build for the PU MMO which makes consistent progress
with quarterly patch releases throughout the year.

I have lived in the Connie for almost a month. When I finally got back to station it was because no more room in Connie for the things I was finding and looting and finding some kinda rare stuff here and there. Cant wait till the next time. I take everything I need. Boxes, food, mining stuff ect. Dont forget some weapons you may need them I did.

Good stuff! Iäve been preaching to people to live more in their ships. Bedlogging has been working quite well last 2-3 years and where logging in has such a big impact on the immersion.

I love this style of gameplay. I'm been thinking of trying to set my character up in a Survival scenario here soon. Thinking of filling up my reclaimer with some ground vehicles, some supplies and pretending the Reclaimer crashes somewhere. So I'm not aloud to fly away with it. I want to pick a cool area to "Crash in" but is also reasonably close enough to a POI I could drive to for supplies. Trying to live out of the downed Reclaimer as a home and scavenging around for supplies seems like a cool way to do some relaxing slower gameplay for a bit. I have been apart of some big ship meetups in the past, but its my dream to be apart of a huge player convoy for a event or charity. Years ago I used to watch live streams of people using Rovers to get to the north pole in Kerbal Space Program. All the shenanigans and banter that happens along the way on the convoy trip is what I'd like to recreate in SC. I know 100% when pyro comes out, I'm going to want to drive from one end of that supermassive canyon planet to the other! Until then tho, there are plenty of cool areas on the moons and planets to plan a longer convoy trip.

Since this patch dropped I have been doing my off-grid just as you are doing out of Astor's Clearing in the Cutter.. Tomorrow I shall start my main account and run the Argo Cargo out of Lorville (for logging purposes). I shall be running cargo from HDMS Edmond to Lorville, and there is also the hostile settlement next to Lorville for looting.. I shall start with an undersuit, helmet, medpen and zero cash. Looting is the aim, with no buying or missions permitted, except for cargo running from Edmond.

Press “B” to change Mode in your Multi-Tool, it’s why it wouldn’t place on the Grid.

Thanks Farrister! I'm doing this myself. Ii. Do the bounties that come up, loot, and trade. FYI: when picking up things like minables or a chest that you can't 'carry'. Stand by or over the items and go into inventory. Just drag and drop.

I bought the Carrack yesterday and am planning to live off of it. So not exactly what you're doing but I will be using the C8R as a snub to go planetside, explore, do some missions, rescue people etc. Looking forward to it

If you manage to get yourself Lynx or (even better) Microid chest piece, they come with a cloak that I think would suit this lifestyle (also they just look damn cool). I'm a happy owner of a Mustang but I still camp with microTech locals a few days at a time.

If anything, this gives me a preview of what I'll eventually do in Star Citizen. I love your videos because it gets my imagination going about all the things we'll be able to get up to. Currently the inventory system alone (among other things) kills a lot of this for me personally but I can't wait for the new systems potentially coming in 3.23. For now I'm more than happy just watching you do all of this, it's very therapeutic.

So one work around with your RMC canisters. You could use them to repair holes in your a and then use the multi-tool to reclaim the RMC again. It's not a great work around but it would allow you to sell the stuff you have stockpiled.

there is a bed at harpers point(the place next to the lake) that you can log out in. now im not sure it actually works or not, but the option is there.

you can buy RMC there for ~10k not sell, also the tractor beam was in the wrong mode so it wasnt going to snap that way. You have inspired me to do a life off of the grid too. I love the Vulture so I may go with that also while an SRV sounds fun too

Again, great vid. What do you think of off grid living out of a carrack? Just starting out with a fitted out ship with a roc miner, ursa and a mule and a fury and pises in the hangar? May not be a zero to hero game mode, but It's what I've been doing and been having a blast doing it.

People are always crapping on SC because of how long it's been in Alpha, Chris' priorities with making the game feel like real-life-but-in-space, etc., but honestly, I feel like that's all part of this game's charm. It's the one thing that I feel really makes it different compared to say for instance Starfield, which is much more mechanically streamlined, you have some RPing dialogue options & a number of choices you can make, but otherwise at the end of the day you are who the story makes you out to be, and not necessarily who you want to be.

I don't know why gamers feel so empowered to dictate to people who can actually design the games, how to design the games. I blame losers who just wanted to play games forever for money, so they figured let's create the gaming news site, Kotaku, Gamespot, Gamerant, these parasites. And while every film viewer is absolutely a valid critic for the film, every player is a valid critic for games. But the moviegoers never has been arrogant enough to tell the director or actors how to do the movies. It just screams incompetency (in pretty much anything really, too young just yet maybe? lol) when they try to call Starfield the Star Citizen killer, in their utter confusion in chasing the next hype train... I think that this project is the most mature one, and least toy-like one, and perhaps that's why there is that almost generations disconnect in perception. Btw: my sons enjoy both teenage games and this one. And this one is not even that game yet.

Two things to know about living out of a ship. One, putting a dead body (NPC or player) on your ship will keep proximity doors nearby them open. Two, dead bodies (NPC and player) count as passengers and will prevent you from bed logging.

I had the same bug in my Vulture where boxes wouldn't snap to the grid and my tractor beam wouldn't work unless I held the button rather than the usual toggle. Re-logging fixed it for me

In this video your lifestyle is representative of a "Spacer's" (very rare) life, so I must ask, "Were you (character) born in space, ie: on a family ship?" I've created a backstory for Tarn Kalwyn (my character), born a "Spacer", not having a path, but knowing space draws him to it. ;-) Oh, btw - some individuals and groups consider "Spacer's" unnatural (not part of nature), thus are prejudicial towards them. I'm trying to leave a crate with various items, such as a multi-tool/grav, mine, etc, food, water, medgun/refill, medpens, helmet, other items of use in an emergency in all my ships that have room?

DayZ SA will let you live a life off grid, hunting and gathering for food. playing in first person and even build a house. Boil stream water to drink. skin animals to eat and for clothing. But no space ships like Star Citizen.

As far as I know, the multi-tool medical attachment is still bugged and can only be used to heal yourself. As recently as last weekend, I still have not been able to heal anyone else with it.

This is what I'm going to start doing now. I'll do some rp sessions. Pick a profession and stick to it. See how immersed I can get into the world. Stock my ship with weapons and armor and ammo and food. The possibilities are endless with star citizen and I love it so much.

Tried it with a Vulture just for fun. But had bad luck and had instant some player killer blowing my ship up and killing me. So, peaceful gameplay is not easy, as long as there is no Pyro system, so this bored pvp players have something else to do.

It’s not possible to live off grid yet. Can’t go to any space stations, rest stops, refineries, or planet locations that are on the grid if you want to live off grid….Must wait for future updates to live off grid. This is just using your imagination like playing house as a child.
