An important fact that was left out. The Tohono O'odham nation was there before the white man arrived and drew a border through the middle of their lands. Under treaty, they can cross the border freely. The use of their lands by outsiders for hostile purposes and the resultant militarization of the border by outsiders became a de facto war against the Tohono O'odham nation. When they say they are "caught in the middle", what they are saying goes 'way beyond what most folks think they're hearing. They are being torn down the middle.

Hm, how ironic that these Natives are named Jose. The same name as the majority of Mexicans. And before anyone naively states that Jose is of Spanish origin, know that the Spanish church allowed interracial marriage. Because the Spanish wedded us, we adopted their names and traditions, but they were never a majority, therefore most Mexicans have a high percentage of indigenous blood. Please keep calling us illegals to this land, we love the irony behind your inflated ignorance. I think this is karma biting the Anglicans in the face. This is indigenous America reclaiming its territory. Analogous to how South Africa became of the Africans as far as race is concerned once again. But that's all I'll say, I do not have any say in what is happening currently, but I share my opinion nonetheless. American forefathers gave us freedom of speech anyway, and who did they copy that from? That's right, the Iroquois nation, an indigenous nation. The people you killed to plant your homes. I disagree with the drugs. They are doom to any land and BOTH nations must make a joint effort to stop this. Especially Mexico.
@josezepeda606310 жыл бұрын
I totally understand that, actually. I'm from Sonora, my Native American admixture includes Opata and Apache. The former falls on the Mexican territory, the latter on that of the USA. Most of anybody with my last name is actually from New Mexico, and not from here in Sonora. But if you ask anybody from my family, we will claim to be Mexican descendants, or just Mexicans, we feel that defines us best. I still see anyone of indigenous descent as a cousin, whether our ancestors got along or not, they all shared a common injustice.

It is open because the Tohono O'dham reservation extends into Mexico. The tribe's territory existed long before the border was drawn during the Gadsden Purchase.; That is why the is Tohono O'dham members in the Mexican side. The reservation is in both countries. The tribe did not want the tall fence between their land. Many Tohono O'dham tribes people in Mexico cross into the U.S. side of their land to visit relatives,and vice versa. Also cattle and other animals cross through there.

I lived in Hereford, Arizona some 30 or so years ago and a border wall was desperately needed then. I saw so much trouble and danger at that time that I moved back to Utah. The wife and our children were afraid to go camping anywhere near the border, because it was so dangerous. We need a 40 foot wall and a 25 foot deep foundation made of Carborundum and 4/5 feet thick

Funny how there is more than just illegal Mexicans crossing the Mexican Border... have they forgotten that other countries go to Mexico to cross the same border? Or is it just personal preference to single out a single ethnic group if you will... it just makes me mad that a human being, being smart and very capable of making the world a better place they choose to make it a negative thing... granted they brake the law, but haven't we all at one point of time??? No one drives the speed limit, if you do it's because you got that bad ass cruise control and if you don't drive what about you ever trying to connect to a wifi... being an un-authorized access... shit... depending in the state you live in i was surprised to read such laws... point being no one is perfect, but just because you're doing good in life why would you look down on someone that is seeking to "try" to live a life like you. What you give for granted is what sometimes people wish for... I really hope the world can be a better place someday. 😥

Man, I am so lucky to be on the other border. Canada and the united states hardly have any barriers between the borders. There is kilometers upon kilometers of open space between the borders. There is literally just a road with american farms on one side growing corn, and Canadian farms growing other stuff on the other. No fence, no wall, nothing, just some pillars that tell you which country you are in. It's a shame this is going on at the Mexican border. Canada would gladly take in all of these immigrants. Send them to us, we want them!

The Berlin Wall was built to keep the East Berliners prisoners in their own country. West Berlin wasn't trying to keep the East Berliners out. I don't agree with a wall being built on the Southern US border because the illegal immigrants will dig tunnels. A pricey solution that will not work.

I know that you are not going to Believe Me !! But I saw a KZbin Video quite a Few Months ago; and it was over two years ago when it was first Put on KZbin; The guy who Put it on KZbin stated that if anyone got caught crossing onto the American side of the Boarder ! At First they were sent Back by the coach load back to Mexico: But as it was costing Billions of Dollars in the arresting of them and sending them Back: whichever department that deals with immigrants: That department employed quite a few Shooters that had long range High Velocity Rifles that were fitted up with Night Telescopic Vision; These Shooters would Walk Five Miles within the Mexican Boarder and set up themselves within Sand Dunes; They'd wait for anyone to venture within Range of their Rifles and shoot to Kill !! A Crack shot could Kill over a thousand Yards: NOW In case you are doubting what I Have Just Said: A Camera Crew went one day to do a wild life Film on Desert Animals: Instead of Finding Wild Foxes and other creatures; they Found Many a Skeleton and also Decomposed Bodies; On Many of the Skeletons there were distinctive Splinter Fragments on the Bone structure; these were where a Bullet had ripped through !!! when they Reported what they Had seen of dozens upon Dozens of Skeletons that were Months and even Years old ; investigators either put it down to them dying of Hunger and thirst or in some cases Mafia Style Killings Every Excuse would be Made to cover up what really had Happened on reading your comment Maybe you Ought to Join in with the Shooters ; There is Never a short supply of food for the vultures
