Damn... the lady at 4:12 was the exact situation my mom was in 27 years ago! Single mom, left her daughter with my grandma in Guatemala to come to America and send money back to them. Last year was the first time my mom got to see the daughter she left behind - she’s 32 now with kids. It’s insane to see what people go through for the sake of their family. I can’t help but see them as my mom, my aunts, my uncles, so this video really hits close to home.

The only help we got from the government was for my brother and sister who were born with clubbed feet, so we were able to get medical help for them. My mother worked various jobs and got help from friends and family, that was what she depended on.

Great report, touchy topic, but I would like to see Mexicans with better leadership so that they can build Mexico up. Everyone in the world cannot come to US for a better life. We need to learn how to build better infrastructure in other countries to see the economic development grow. & in honesty as a Mexican, it is your native country so after you have made your money in the U.S. it is likely for them to move back home. I say better leadership and fix and believe in your country, its beautiful.

Not trolling or making light of your gracefully put response, but frankly it seems a lot of people don't have a chance to build Mexico up which is why they leave...don't you agree? Often in truly poverty stricken areas (not the whole of Mexico, obviously) there isn't any room for any kind of change except leaving. I guess what I'm trying to say is that often the people who leave are not looking for something better than ordinary maybe, perhaps they're simply looking for better than very bad. They mostly have no say in infrastructure and leadership and more worry about basic human needs.

That's true. Obviously a much longer term solution is needed. But Mexico is an upper middle-income country with the highest income per capita in the region and is the fifteenth largest economy in the world. It's not as though all Mexicans want to come to the United States. Corruption and income inequality are the big issues affecting the government so I agree with your saying leadership needs to change.

You need a firearms licence in the U.K. They need a very good reason to refuse someone a shotgun licence to go clay pigeon shooting on a weekend (convicted terrorist, on a lifetime firearms ban, etc). Dairy farmers have hand guns to kill calf to steal the mother’s milk, hunters of highland deer have sniper rifles for hunting season, as well as, fox hunters. The 1900+ mile behemoth wall will never work and probably doesn't actually get completed. How many more trillions of dollars of debt risking national security will it cost to build and man? Why not do what all other countries do? Have strict enforced immigration law requiring visas that also include stiff penalties for illegal businesses and heavy fines for employing illegal aliens under the table. For example, if I go to Thailand or Europe to over stay a visa, I'd get arrested, detained, fined, and then deported requiring an expensive unplanned last minute flight. I also wouldn't be allowed to do a business or buy into a house without a local host national partner with law preventing foreigners from owning no more than 49% share as to protect locals economic interests. However, if I went to central or South America, a work visa to teach English or work in tourism is too complicated and expensive in most cases, that I'd have to exit and re-enter on tourist visas every 3 months. The America's are in disarray because that's how the establishment that controls the US wants it. If it weren't for that, there wouldn't be so many trying to sneak in just to clean toilets for they'd have a viable way of life in their home countries.

That wall in Jerusalem is much smaller area to control and was completed years ago so it's in place and operational. A 1900 mile fortified and manned wall won't go up even by 2020 for it will take years to accomplish assuming America doesn't go broke or default on national debt anytime soon. I lived n Mexico for 5 years, with my husband then, I didn't have anything as I have here n the U.S., but I adjusted to the poor life there, it was happy on that simple life. Here n the U.S. all I have is bills, doctors, insurances, mortgage, , utilities, etc. THE only reason illegals see it good here, they have no responsibility as we have, and if they have children, their are taking care by us, tax payers.

If they could pressure the US to legalize drugs, then this would set them up as major players in the market, as long as Uncle Sam cuts them a fair deal, but it will be pressure from the citizens that the cartels have to worry about. Again a government needs people, not the other way around. Even the cartels foot soldiers are not going to kill friends and family members who are not associated with the cartel. The cartel can't screw over the foot soldiers are risk being in the same debacle as the current government. In the end any of the above options call for great social upheaval of its citizens from all parts of Mexico. The options 1 and 3 relay on underlying financial support to make it a success, and all the above options require sympathetic propaganda, in order to make the world care and especially the cartels, who will have to be dealt with at some point. I say drug legalization and giving them a seat at the table is a step in the right direction.

A lot of people from plenty of other countries come to America for better jobs, better communities and a better government. I think coming to America legally is the best way but it also takes awhile, from months to a year or so. I asked this question specifically to the Texas state politicians, “where have you been during the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, to present-day 2019, Hispanic labor has worked hard to build up the state of Texas and they been doing it out in the open, so why the hypocrisy now?” Just in case there are readers from other states, immigration has been occurring for such a long time and has been developed by American business interest I will add just a few states and their estimated migrant community: California (2,350,000), Texas (1,650,000), Florida (850,000), New York (775,000), New Jersey (500,000), Illinois (450,000), Georgia (375,000), North Carolina (350,000), Arizona (325,000), Virginia (300,000), Maryland (250,000). In doing a brief survey of wages of Central America which includes Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. While we have the build the wall movement becoming vocal I have not seen anyone from this political point of view addressing the why they are coming. When offered a suggestion that we speed up the registration process at the border the reaction is to discourage the process suggested. But more importantly no one addresses the Central American wage scheme. I will try to keep the wage descriptions consistent over this discussion and convert the wages to dollars: • In Costa Rica I found that for a general employee the wage is about $11.15 a day, • In the Dominican Republic wages are reported on a monthly basis which range from general employees $134 up to $221, • In El Salvador the agricultural workers get paid $2 a day, • In Guatemala you see wages from $2.81 to $3.73 a day. I will restate that the wall is immoral because in my view this nation is parasitic in nature extracting raw material and knowingly allowing the wages of the general workforce to be depressed. And I have stated in the past that the more intrepid Central Americans are heroes and they will walk thousands of miles to better themselves economically. I used to work with this guy George , he was Mexican. He had gotten into a fight one night at a bar in Atlantic City , stabbed two people. So he was deported. He was back in 2 weeks.
