I never asked myself this question, because life seems endless. However, our time isn't limitless. With this video you have triggered me to finally face this question. I will take the time to think this trough. To make myself commited: I promise right here and now I will formulate my perspective creatively by making a new video. I hope to inspire others as well to ask themselves this question. Spread the inspiration! Well done, Niklas. EDIT: Didn't expect this comment would get the attention it did, but I kept my promise and it's live. Thank you Niklas for being such an inspiration to others! Life is short, take action now guys!

The scary but true question: What would happen if you died today? Do you consider yourself to be a good person? Most people do. However, most of us differ as to the definition of "good." The Bible says that God is good, and the Ten Commandments are His standard of goodness. So, we will look at God's Law . . . With a tender conscience, ask yourself if you have obeyed the following: You shall have no other gods before Me. (Have you always loved God above all else?)You shall not make yourself an idol. (Have you made a god in your mind that you're more comfortable with, a god to suit yourself?)You shall not take God's name in vain. (Have you ever used God's holy Name as a cuss word?)Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy.Honor your father and mother. You shall not murder. (God considers hatred to be as murder). You shall not commit adultery. ("Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart" Matthew 5:27-28; this also includes sex before marriage). You shall not steal. (Have you ever stolen anything? the value of the item is irrelevant). You shall not lie. (Have you lied even once? Including answering these questions). You shall not covet. (Have you ever jealously desired what belongs to others?)The Bible says that God will punish all murderers, rapists, thieves, liars, adulterers, etc. He will even judge our words and thoughts. On Judgment Day, will you be found to be guilty or innocent of breaking His commandments? Perhaps you think that God is good, and will therefore overlook your sins. But it is His goodness that will make sure that murderers, rapists, thieves, liars, etc. receive justice. He would be a corrupt Judge if He turned a blind eye to injustice. Have you kept the Commandments? The Bible says that the Law is perfect. It commands you to be perfect (Matthew 5:48). Are you perfect (in thought, word, and deed)? Will you make it to Heaven? You may say that you are still good, but God says you're not (see Psalm 14:2-3). So one of you is lying, and the Scriptures tell us that it is impossible for God to lie. Remember that all liars will be cast into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 21:8). God's Law demands justice, and the penalty for sinning against Him is death and Hell. Listen carefully if you want to live. God Himself made a way where His justice and His goodness could meet. We broke the Law, but He became a man to pay the fine. Jesus suffered and died on the cross to satisfy the Law. God can forgive us and grant us the gift of everlasting life! But you may still think that you can (from now on) keep the Ten Commandments. But isn't it true that the best of us have lied, stolen, lusted, hated, failed to love God above all else, and failed to love our neighbor as ourselves? How can we then, live a "good" life if we have already sinned against God? At best we are reformed liars and thieves . . . but still Lawbreakers. Think of it this way - would you sell one of your eyes for a million dollars? Would you sell both for $50 million? I'm sure you wouldn't. Your eyes are priceless, yet they are merely the windows of your soul. What then must your life (soul) be worth? With these thoughts in mind, what would be a fair price to pay for everlasting life? It is utterly without price. Yet, if we trust in our own goodness to enter Heaven, we are saying to God, "I should enter Heaven because I have done good - I have earned my way in." Imagine if you wanted to give me a brand new (very expensive) car, but I said, "I can't take it! I feel embarrassed receiving such a gift . . . here's 10 cents for it." I'm sure you would be very insulted by such a pathetic offer of payment. Besides, if I pay for it, it is no longer a gift, it's a purchase . . . it's mine by right. When we talk of entering Heaven by being good, by trying to keep the Ten Commandments etc., we are tossing God 10 cents of "self-righteousness," which is a terrible insult to Him, in the light of His sacrifice. The only thing we can do is humble ourselves, repent of our sins, and receive the gift by trusting Jesus Christ alone. Almighty God demonstrated how much He loves you when Jesus suffered for you on the cross. If you want to trust in your own goodness, then you are saying His agonizing death on the cross was in vain. The Bible says, "For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God." You cannot earn a gift. When Jesus said to "believe" on Him, He was saying we should have faith in Him, in the same way you would trust a parachute to save you when you jump from a plane. You don't merely believe in the parachute - you put it on. Please don't "jump" without Jesus. If you die in your sins there is no second chance. God will give you justice, and you will end up in Hell forever. Any troubles you have at present are dwarfed by the trouble you are in with your Creator. His wrath abides upon you (John 3:36). God doesn't want you to go to Hell. Neither do you want to go there, so confess your sins to God right now, put your trust in Jesus to save you, and you will pass from death to life. Then read the Bible daily and obey what you read. (See John 14:21). Your obedience to God is the proof of your love. Have faith in God, He will never fail you. Pray something like this: "Dear God, today I turn away from all of my sins (name them). This day I put my trust in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. He is the only way for me to be saved. He is 'The way, the truth, and the life.'" Please forgive me, change my heart, and grant me Your gift of everlasting life. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen."

I’m 19 years old. It has been 106 days since I leave my comfortable hometown and started a trip riding motorbikes across my country, which is Vietnam. Along the way, I experienced and heard tons of stories about the randomness of life. Sometimes, you unexpectedly get what you think you were all lost, and also lost what you think it's like forever. But life is always going on. We don't have the right to choose what happens, but the right to choose how to react. And you only live today, neither tomorrow nor yesterday, if you don't embrace the present moment, do what fuking things that make you feel alive, so that one day, not that far, there’ll be no more chance for you. That is one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way. Staying in a tent, writing this comment, thank you one more time, Niklas, for proving what I learned was truly significant.

Thought provoking and so close to home. I was diagnosed with breast cancer last June (2022) and I was faced with everything you just talked about and more, except on a much more real level. I went through every thought you can imagine about living and dying! So many things I thought were important fell into the waste basket and other things zoomed into focus like a flight or flight moment. It was life changing for sure! I no longer tolerate unnecessary BS have my priorities readjusted. I think, everyone at some point in their life, will ponder exactly what you have created on this vlog, and Others will live it!

This is such a great video!! As you mentioned "We dont think about death until it seems too close"and I went through that feeling in Dec 2020 when I was shot 3 times in the US all of a sudden, in a day where everything seemed calm/normal. I have been recovering very well from that (1 hit my spine, but the doctor said its a miracle I can still walk) in these past 18 months but still with some limitations. Going through that gave me a different perspective of life and as you stated in the end "We shouldnt be scared of death, we should be scared that we never began...to live!" Since I am a Brazilian who already had some adventures/ experiences in another country, I wanna travel the world and do other things like skydiving to make me feel alive... Today, I am also very grateful for the simple things, we cant take them for granted. A much needed video for a lot of people, THANK YOU NIKLAS!!!!!

First off, your videos *always* inspire me to be the best version of myself, and I don't say that lightly. So thank you for that. Second off, and I'm happy to take the blame for feeling this way, I can't help but feel like setting up all those shots, constantly filming, using the drone for so long, that must take you out of the moment somewhat? I struggle myself with trying to live in the moment, but also capture it so I don't forget. I can't possibly imagine what it's like to do what you do, how you do it. I'm sure it's easier with filmmaking friends who don't mind and understand, but I'm still at a loss on how I'd feel if I'm on some amazing trip and one of my friends busts out a FPV drone while the rest of us stare wondering what the hell their doing haha. Regardless, thanks for the inspiration. Cheers!

Hi Nikolas. Where do I start? When I saw this video pop up in my notifications, I knew it was going to be something soooo worth watching. I learn so much from every single one of your videos, but I knew I was going to learn even more from this one. I have an 'Inspiration" playlist on KZbin and I feel that every one of your videos belong in that folder. One thing that makes your videos soo very special to me is the fact that you not only combine incredible story telling, jaw-dropping visuals of my beautiful country, South Africa, and incredible knowledge about photography and filmmaking, BUT you tend to combine that with just the best life lessons and your videos just make one think about life. That is super super valuable because there aren’t many channels that do that and even less that do it as good as you. This video I once again an absolute banger, mostly because of the reflection on life it gives you. I’ve never seen someone on KZbin that can combine the aspect of filmmaking and photography, and the aspect of life in such a good way as you can. I would’ve really loved to join the meet you had, but it wasn’t possible as I live about 9 hours away, in the middle of my high school exams and don’t have a car or a licence. But then I also thought to myself, if I were there, I would really not have known how to make use of that precious time with you and your community. It would’ve been so overwhelmingly amazing I wouldn't have known what to even speak to you about because we have so many common interests. You probably want someone to feel present and relaxed when they meet you, but I think it would actually be quite hard because the person will feel the pressure to make the most out of that so valuable interaction. This is meant in a very honoured and positive way. I want to meet you one day, and would absolutely love to be able to make a KZbin video with you. I am so glad you moved to South Africa, many people just look past South Africa because of our bad economy, politics, crime rates and many never see the real South Africa. Because in many cases the typical “tourist locations” don’t portray the real character and beauty of SA. I am glad that you make time to travel around a bit and see the less seen, that is where I personally find the most peace and like you said in the video, find yourself. I am very very close to nature and I absolutely need to experience nature very often to keep my soul clean and reflect on where our society lies. Your videos mean so much to me, because of your past also and how you feature that in your videos… I'm 17 years old now, highly motivated towards becoming a full time media creator, filmmaker, photographer, you know, our career is hard to describe… My parents also didn't support my decision to becoming “a KZbinr” at the beginning and life is very unpredictable. I am very very motivated and my mind is set on success, but I still have sooo much that I am very unsure about. But like you've said in your “Life changing experiences” video, this time that I am in right now has been your worst time of your life and your most uncertain time. I just want to thank you for your time reading this. Just know that there are so many out there, dependent on your videos for reference and motivation towards reaching their goals. I feel this comment is just about 35% effective in delivering my appreciation, but it's something. I want to thank you for what you are doing and how personal you keep your videos to keep things so real and authentic.

After watching this video specially the end where You meeting all those amazing people it came to my mind that, what is now missing (at least for me) is some sort of facebook group or something like that, where we can all join, have conversations, ask questions, share our ideas for next videos or projects, our experience, maybe give feedbacks to each others, but most important we could all just hang around "like minded people". Not everyone is lucky to have friends that can go with to shoot videos etc but maybe by group like this we could find them and have more fun? Don't know if that is good or not, just came to my mind and I know that I would love to join and be part of community like that. For me that would be something amazing and that what is missing the most on youtube filmmaking industry. Beyond that keep up and can't wait for next video :)

Welcome to Cape Town. The algorithm brought me here! NO REGRETS! Your work is infectious and very inspiring to this "LATE BLOOMER!" Man, I have so much to learn about the creative process. While you keep pushing forward, I'll keep learning. ✌

This is a really amazing video. I love that this video wasn't scripted as well, it is such a gut wrenching question. I've had a lot of stress lately with optionality and unhappiness, and I feel like this is an interesting way to approach decision making. Someone said to me "you can do anything, but not everything" and this hits hard, even how you addressed having responsibilities in adulthood and not tapping into the inner child. This is a long winded way for me to say thanks, and this has me thinking a lot!

This video is so relevant for me right now, just got back from a Jeep off-road trip to Moab and have never been so inspired! Passion comes first. Thanks for your content :)

As a youtuber and a amateur editor, I have to say Niklas, you are the best filmmaker I have ever seen. This video is probably the best video I have ever seen since I watch youtube videos long ago. What a video what a humble man you are. So happy for you, and so happy to know you are living the life you want! Dream high buddy!!! What a pleasure to find and watch your videos!

I normally don't comment on videos, but you've touched on a subject that is important to me. Life goes by fast and it's easy to miss the beauty in the sunsets and nature, and in the faces of the people around me. We obviously all live very different lives, but we all have those chances to capture, or miss, a beautiful moment. Your video inspires me to pay more attention to what's around me and to live with no regrets as you said. Happy birthday, by the way...

Wow, what a video... I definitely have to be a little "less responsible" and be a little more the kind of person who is living life. It's freaking mind blowing that we are in the same age, but you made the jump, leaving good old Germany and at the same time making a living from posting videos on the internet - a thing most people would say is impossible. I'm glad that you made it and now being a source of inspiration in life and creatively. Hoffentlich treffen wir uns mal eines Tages, ich glaube wir könnten ein paar spannende Gespräche führen. Btw. the Text Motion Graphics for Davinci Resolve are amazing! Never seen such good Templates. They are worth their money! Hope we will get the Animated Film Frames also for Resolve. ;)

Wow for me this is the best video you ever made! I think life is a perfect balance between being and becoming, or even being while becoming! One can't be fulfilled without another! Enjoy your life, great job Niklas!

Such a sick video, especially the ending really made me cry. You are such a big inspiration for me and I always tell myself that I am not good enough for being a filmmaker, and that I will never be as good as you, but the stories in your videos tell me that everyone begins somewhere and that everyone can make it. Thanks man!

This is definitely one of the best videos I've seen recently. I'll be 31 by July, and would really want to start living life in full as much as I want to. Thanks for this and helping us realize that everyday counts.

I hope one day, I'll meet you for just talking about all and nothing. Cheers from France ♥

Wow, this is incredibly inspirational. I love your overall production quality, passion and enthusiasm for life! I have a major passion I'm committed to and it's to play music festivals around the world as an electronic music producer. The powerful energy I feel at these events is absolutely insane. It's crazy the way we experience life when we're present!

It would come down to a person's definition of happiness. As some would enjoy extravagant adventure, some would just love to sit with one person that mean them the most and just talk or watch amazing view or whatever. Basically knowing the purpose of your life is what makes your life full. Be happy and live long everybody ☺️
