A.) From a fellow owner, best all around vehicle on planet earth. Absolutely brilliant. B.) You don't need to raise the truck into normal access height every time you start the car. Simply start driving and it will auto raise to normal height after 10mph. C.) When you go through a car wash, push the parking sensor button on the screen to turn those sensors off. No more beeping,

They really are. Our auto lift system is temperamental, it’s 50/50 whether it will work or just cause the vehicle to stall & put itself in park. We’ve learned to live with it because it’s next to the stop/start anyways, Just one of those quirky things. I thought I mentioned the Park sensor button but maybe it didn’t make the cut. That’s awesome though, thank you for your input, over here trying to raise Land Rover Reliability awareness 😂

For the most part I think majority of l405 have held up pretty well over the years, as long as you do the preventative maintenance, etc it should be smooth ownership.

Great vid. Small pointer: if you accidentally hit the '-' manual shift paddle, you don't have to go into neutral and then drive.... not recommended to change gear 'directions' while car in motion. Just press and hold the '+' paddle for some 3-4 secs and it will go right back to auto. If accidental is on the '+' paddle, still press it and hold for that long and back into auto.

have a v6 Diesel Autobiography for 6 years now in New Zealand. Has been excellent up to 118000KM now . Only problem has been the auto close tailgate, where the top refuses to auto close most of the time, not an issue that bothers me. Changed brakes and cam belt at 10000Km and auto box trans fluid and filter. Regular service is the key. I also push the eco start button off to save wear on the starter motor .

Change cam belt? You mean timing chain? Or serpentine belt.

I’ve had two of them. The current v6 sc hse isn’t that bad. The 5.0 v8 supercharged had was a pile of shit. Dearer out a engine in it at 27k miles due to timing chain issues.

I have a foxwell nt809 in my go bag of basic tools I usually carry with me. It can tap, scan & reset most systems on most cars as well as a few other things. For serious situations I also have a Laptop with the JLR Software Pack from when I worked on them professionally.

Do the rear seats fold completely flat? My brother fits 3 kids and car seats in a 4runner. I'm sure you could manage 2 kids.
@aaronsautoshop19913 ай бұрын
Forward facing is a struggle with more than one when you aren’t seated close to the steering wheel. Next go round we’ll have a LWB and it’d be more manageable. I’m pretty sure 4Runners are a little wider like our suburban has more width as well to make things work a little better. The rear seats go almost flat but still has some upward tilt.

Yes a 2015 would be identical, If I recall correctly 2018 was when they did some minor upgrades to the lights & the touchscreen/ac area

how much is a brake job for your range rover
@aaronsautoshop1991 Жыл бұрын
Not sure what the dealer or shops would charge, usually it’s atleast $1500, but I’m a DIY person & the parts are actually pretty cheap about $300 for new pads & rotors

What issues did the td6 have?
@aaronsautoshop19912 жыл бұрын
Well the Td6 had a few random issues like Cam seals. Oil would leak into a sensor & things of that sort, mostly minor things but parts availability for the td6 just isn’t really there. The 3.0 supercharged was usually easier to maintain when it had issues. For example If a sensor failed in the td6 it usually ended up being a couple weeks waiting for parts. I think the biggest issue was the the DPF failure. Having the 2 side by side the gas 3.0 was a ton easier & cheaper to maintain. The Td6 always seemed to have some issue, fuel cost was more, as well as the additional code of DEF & all the annoyances that came with it.

No thanks , way too many things to go wrong an cost a fortune to have fixed , i know a few ool thats owned them an they been headaches right from new with electrical issues an other things , an problems getting parts in for them .. even before parts shortage issues.. maybe its difference in climate an salt an sand issues cause up north here in Canada we have winter an that could be why more problems .. but ya jus night mare for ppl i know that owned them an hard to re sell them up here for them too.. you can have it arron lol
@aaronsautoshop19912 жыл бұрын
it’s probably a Canadian /northern thing I can imagine they probably don’t like the snow more than they don’t like the humidity here 😂 but also down here in Florida we’re pretty much in the parts hub as well as how many of them there are down here helps. I’m pretty sure there’s about 3 other identical ones just in our neighborhood 😂🤔
