There is a couple things I would like to say for my ADHD, but that will take too long. Though I do relate to most of these, eye contact mostly one of them since I don't like looking at the person in the eyes for too long and just try to look anywhere else. I enjoy touch, because I'm mostly touch starve and crave affection so I don't really issue with that, but I do want people ask before hugging or touching me. (Also love the cute animation!!! And you did a first sponsor, that's awesome!!!)

Ahhh your first sponsor!! Congrats!! And wonderful video, lots of good information and visuals. My dad has ADHD and so do a couple of my siblings, so I've oftened wondered if I have it, but I've only ever been diagnosed with Social anxiety, which probably has some crossover. Definitely feel yeah on the eye contact thing. 😂

Yoooo as someone recently diagnosed with inattentive and recently had their therapist straight up go "Yeah, cool, uh, actually, I have something else to tell you..." I don't know if you'd be interested in exploring, but you literally just described a lot of hallmark autistic traits. I WANT TO STRESS: THERE IS A LOT A LOT OF OVERLAP. SO IT MAY NOT BE. BUT IT IS NOT UNCOMMON TO BE BOTH. AND YES IT IS A WEIRD CONFLICTING HELLSCAPE. I read up on a lot of good things about the RAADS test, and you can take it yourself as a kind of litmus test before deciding to get screened or not if you're curious. All that being said!!! You have a very cute style and I'm glad youtube recommended this to me. Keep up being awesome, and I wish you the best in your journey!!

I’m surprised at the amount of people pointing this out to me, but I feel validated! Ive suspected that Im on the autism spectrum for the better half of a year now, and I find a lot of my experiences are better explained by autism. I realize I’m probably autistic, but unfortunately, a diagnosis is very expensive and I don’t have that kind of money right now :( as much as I would love to talk about my experiences with possibly having autism more openly, I would feel bad talking about something that I don’t have a diagnosis on. So until I have a diagnosis, I’m going to have to chalk all this up to ADHD :,) Thank you for pointing this out though, it makes me feel validated to know that even people who don’t know me personally have seen things that align with my own suspicions of me being autistic. Thank you!
@mouseymeander

@@CreatureCabin aww! I definitely understand, I feel the same way. I am new to it all myself, so I can't say with certainty, but I've read a lot of accounts that state that self diagnosis is valid for that exact reason. My adhd screening was ~2,000 USD, and I believe the qoute to add on ASD was the same. Thankfully ADHD was covered by my insurance, but I wasn't 100% on ASD and opted out for the time. If you want to see if it lines up more than you think, I can't recommend the self testing tools of embrace autism enough. The science seems sound, and they're fairly transparent on each tests strengths and weaknesses. It's one of the best free tools I've found, and it also gives you the test results in a pdf to bring to your dr if/when you want to go get screened. I'll link below. But, cheers to exporing what works for you! I'm glad to meet a fellow ND sib in the rainbow :D embrace-autism.com/autism-tests/

eye contact thing omg I can relate so hard, but for me it's more I sometimes stare into the background in order to better listen to people when I feel like it's hard to focus both on listening and looking, and I'm always really worried on weather or not I look rude or not and try to mostly j do it around people I'm comfy with. also sometimes I do kinda feel overstimulated so I'll try to 'reset' kindof by pretending to sleep for like a min then going on with the day like nothing happened which, again, I only rly do around people I'm comfortable with as I don't want to look weird in front of people
@CreatureCabin
@CreatureCabin Жыл бұрын
I do that too! Sometimes I also make too MUCH eyecontact and don’t realize it- but this usually only happens with the four people I mentioned. THE EYE CONTACT! :O I always hated making eye contact when I'm talking or when someone else is talking. When people stare at me though, I will get very uncomfortable, lose my focus, and my anxiety will get bad if they stare at me for too long. Sometimes I will ask them to stop or I would just straight up yell at them because it scares the crap outta me. ;--; I'm pretty sure most kids at my school know this and some teachers know this too probably because when I talk to them, I will NEVER try to make eye contact. Girls don't normally stare at me because most girls understand BUT when it comes to the boys, oh my god that's where my anxiety will get really bad and I just start yelling at them because of how creepy it is to me. :/

@@CreatureCabin Hey! :D It's been a few months since I watched your videos and I saw your newest video about leaving. :( But I understand Mo, I'm not mad, just sad because you're one of my favorite KZbinrs and I'm still watching your videos. Eye-contact (still), sensation (a new thing I discovered), touch.. (meh not really because I'm a very huggable person and always have been but I don't enjoy anyone or strangers in general touching me). Now I'll give a reason or two why. 👇🏻 Eye-contact: the same problem so there's nothing new. Sensation: I don't enjoy touching certain things and whenever I touch things I don't like, I get really grossed out and will immediately clean my hands. (I think it’s just my OCD but it’s like that 😅). Clothes aren't necessarily a sensational problem for me though. However, sound IS another sensational issue for me because loud noises tend to give me headaches and I easily get scared when there's loud noises like yelling, screaming, slamming doors or objects, etc. Touch: I absolutely LOVE hugs and giving hugs! :) But I hate when people touch me without my permission, even when its friends or my family, I still hate people touching me without my consent. 🥲It just makes me feel very uncomfortable.

I relate to some of the touch part and some of the no eye contact thing. But quite a bit of this sounds autistic 🤔. Although it isint uncommon for people with autism to have adhd and vice versa. Other than these thoughts in my head lol. I really like the video! 😁😃

I have a sneaking suspicion that I have autism; I’m not completely sure and I’m still doing research on it but it would explain a lot of things I’ve felt this extreme sense of isolation damn near my own life, everyone points out my “odd” behavior but as soon as I try to find a reason why I act that way they look at me like I’m crazy

Also 3:20 reminds me of when I went to the Vegan Festival with my crush and her friend who I was also kinda friends with went to one of the concerts there and both of them squeezed past people to get to the front and I said I really didn't wanna go so they went and I sat by myself. I was next to one of the speakers and couldn't move away cuz there were so many people so for a few minutes I just sat there and yknow when something's so loud that the S sounds pierce your eardrums? That was happening a lot and I started crying from the intensity then left to go back to the tend and draw while listening to Cavetown. Awhile later after me and my crush stopped talking, her friend who also used to have a crush on her and who I told that I liked her said that my crush told me it wasn't a good idea cuz said crush wasn't the best person, she then told me my crush was mad that I didn't join her and her friend at the concert and was also mad I wasn't vegan (I wanted to be and was pescatarian at the time but my parents didn't wanna deal with that since they make the meals for the family everyday and couldn't afford to change it) Uhh I've been typing for a while I'm really sorry but this video really resonates with me and I really need to get tested for Anxiety, ADHD and Autism.........
