The British Museum, where all LOOTED things from India and all over the world are kept. In 2019, the Australian museum returned the stolen Natraj Idol back to India. As reparation Britain should return back its exhibits to India and other respective countries where they belong.

I did some research : This object was bought from C T Loo at Paris in 1946 by the Honolulu Academy of Arts and de-accessioned by them in 1964. A note in the HAA's annual bulletin in 1947 confirms this acquisition history. Bought by Mr William Wolff of New York in the year of its de-accession by the HAA, it was purchased by the British Museum in 1987. This wasn't from the Empire/looting but was sold by the owners

it is really a shame that when it came to interpreting Hindu symbolic connotations, it is often misunderstood, thus when applying a theory or methodology to archaeological material in relation to Hinduism it is not explicit understanding. This form of shiv is much more complex then it meets the eye, and the figure he is standing on is Apasmāra, who represented ignorance and epilepsy. In order to preserve knowledge in the world, Apasmāra, a demon, would not be killed; to do so would throw out the balance of knowledge and ignorance. Therefore, Lord shiv adopted the form of Naṭarāja and performed the cosmic dance of Tāṇḍava, in which suppressed Apasmāra by crushing him with his right foot.on the note of that Lord Shiv cosmic form is much complex to understand.

Thanks for this explanation, i always remember about the lord of dance every time I hear about hinduism, when I was a teenager I saw a documentary (mid-late 90's), about raja raja cholan and its splendid temples in thanjavur and madurai and the stone city vijayanagara in the south from India, and how this great king influenced the south-east asian nations like cambodians to build angkor wat.

Actually his dance is more complex to understand. The dance protrayed in Nataraja form of the lord is known as Ananda Tandava means the dance of creation and there are several classifications like I think it 7 of his dance which is described in Bharatanaatiyam (One of the Indian Classical Dances). In Ananda Tandava, the lord dances when he's in a good mood and when he is calm. But there's another dance too. That's the dance of Destruction known as Rudra Tandava. Nataraja form of Lord Shiva has many meanings in it but some stupids in our country itself are making fun of this great dance without knowing the science behind it.

This statue is made by the olden people of "Tamil Nadu" which is a state in India when you do a research about tamil nadu and its myth you can find many interesting things called "kumari kandam " the big continent which is now sleeping calm inside the Indian Ocean I was surprised by knowing that tamil is the mother of all languages ❤️ This is invented by the people of Tamil Nadu and when the scientists invention after thousand years in future ...
