+Allyssa Marie I think it's inappropriate to call her a "human being" just because of how she looks. We're all human beings but it's not really necessary to focus on that fact. If she looked normal you'd just say "what a cool girl". It turns out as if you're treating her differently then others.

+Allie Babydoll Why would God do that to somebody though?
@alliebabydoll62807 жыл бұрын
Stephen C it's very pointless to even explain Christian views , to say an atheist. Anyways, I believe God has a reason for literally everything that he does, who's to say this soul didn't choose this life before ever coming to Earth? He has reasons for everything that He does, we may not understand while here on Earth , but everything will come into light. Like I said though , if you're not Christian, that seems ludicrous to even wrap around your mind. 😒☺️
@mimo48567 жыл бұрын
+Allie Babydoll I'm a Muslim and I believe this also. How would we know how loving Allah (The One and Only God) is if He never gave us trials and tribulations, we wouldn't know He is The Healer, right? For example, we would never know that light existed if wr never experienced darkness. How would we know that Allah is The Forgiver if we never made a mistake? How would we know that Allah is the Comforter, if we were never hurt? If Allah never existed, why would we need Him? Wouldn't we just be living in our own utopia, free of troubles and we wouldn't need anything explained to us because we would either already know or we just wouldn't care. But, this is reality. We do face problems but we also have our good days. Everything, even the most trivial of occurances will be explained. Atheists must ask themselves this question before adopting the "worm buffet theory." Where have you come from, why are you here and where are you going? Life is a journey, every journey is unique to every individual who has lived, is living and will live. Everything serves a purpose and everything happens for a reason.
@alliebabydoll62807 жыл бұрын
MiBeforeChelle exactly , you explained it perfectly ☺️ it's refreshing to know people still believe in God. The world is becoming SO evil with all these atheists, I hope Our Father ends the world soon, I wouldn't blame Him one bit! 😇
@Cybeldina7 жыл бұрын
Allie Babydoll Really? The world is becoming evil because of atheists. Ha! You make me laugh. Unfortunately you are ignorant of the fact that the least religious nations in the world experience the lowest rates of crime, poverty, etc. These same nations also correlate with higher educational performance. These nations are continuously ranked as the happiest and most peaceful nations in the world, using what the IEP calls the GPI "global peace index". This index evaluates all criteria including: national GDP, sustainable development, environmental conservation, education, crime statistics, life expectancy, healthcare access, unemployment/poverty rates, and general standard of living.. If you going to make a claim, might as well know your stuff first. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Peace_Index Here is the GPI rankings for 2017. The United States comes 114th. LOL! Notice the nations at the very end of the chart: Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq... Hm, I wonder if those are very religious places.. **scratching head**

It is difficult to imagine what life is like for someone like this. Human society is so infatuated with beauty and how you look, that to feel excluded and "less than" must be painful. Knowing how cruel people can be, especially younger people, it shows a lot of courage and strength to not hide away. Good luck to the women in the video.

I went to high school with a girl that looked and sounded different from others because of her health issues and a lot of people could be really crappy to her, but she was just my friend. I didn't ever think about it until someone put it to me and I was like why wouldn't I be friends with her? and it was stupid, I just saw my friend, her personality, her heart (emotionally) was what I saw. She had an awesome sense of humour and all others could see was her tiny ears or the shape of her face or her speech and I wanted to slap them. If they just took a second to just know her, they wouldn't view her differently to anyone else. I was brought up with a family friend that has down syndrome (fairly severe as people with downs go) and so I was just perhaps a little more accepting than many of my peers. I will never say "oh I don't see the disability or difference", because obviously I do, the difference is that I see those differences as no more important to our friendships than height or eye colour. We are who we are, in all of our varied glory. Savannah seems like a nice woman, nice to meet you Savannah, love your name.xx

I remember when I was in middle school and I had a friend who was highly autistic( I still talk to him) and people asked why he was my best friend and would praise me when I told them why I was friends with him. They would say I was brave to befriend someone like him and that if it wasn't for me, he would have no one, due to his autism. Although, I never saw him as a person with autism. I saw him as a friend that was funny, friendly, and really smart. Not to mention that I also stood up for a girl with autism when she was getting bullied by a bunch of boys. After that day, I got questions from people on why I defended her and I could've stayed quiet. Although, I told those people that I defended her because she's just like everyone else, she just happens to have autism. Autism shouldn't define her as a person. So, I continued being their friends and I really relate to your story so I just wanted to say that to keep being her friend and never leave her side, despite what people might think of her.

Good on you girl. Ah it's 25 years later now, we lost touch about a decade ago, family, life etc my down syndrome friend lost both parents and her mental and physical health had suffered for long before that. Thank you so much for making these videos. You have such a great understanding of disabled people. This one was particularly helpful because I have to make a research page on Treacher Collin's Syndrome as we're reading Wonder in my English class at school, and August in the book has that condition. However, whilst there is lots of information about it online and at the library, I wanted to hear from the perspective of an actual person with the disability because they know their condition better than anyone else in the world. Just simply hearing how people with Treacher Collin's live just as fulfilling lives as able-bodied people and deserve just as much love was really useful.
