I hope you all enjoy this weeks video tour! As a fellow Kiwi, we have been following Gina's tiny house builds for a long time, and it's so exciting for us to now be able to tour her own wonderful tiny home. This place is packed full of great small space design ideas. With New Zealand now at level 1 (meaning no more community transmission of Covid-19), we are so excited to be able to start filming new, local video tours again! I hope you all enjoy the video tour of this wonderful home! With Love, Bryce & Rasa

This is honestly one of my favourite tiny houses I have seen so far. Although I like the idea of a tiny house, many of them seem too crowded, as they naturally try to make use of every little space there is. But with this one it is still so airy and light. I especially love how much thought she put in to ventilation etc. That way it is even more sustainable. And I have never seen such a cool shower door thingy, that seems really practical.

@galgrunfeld99543 жыл бұрын
Yes, it does. The reason for that is that your eyes get more light overall, and light from more angles, since the lighter the color the more it will reflect light (in the visible spectrum). And with more light, your brain percieves it as more spacious because that's how it works. That's what I understand to happen in this phenomenon.

If having the option of moving around the house or being off grid is not important you, I would recommend looking at small type of Swedish houses called attefallere/attefallshus for inspiration. In Sweden you don’t need to apply for building permits as long as the structure is smaller then I think 30 or 25 square meters (I can’t remember). (With a maximum height of 4 meters) The permits rules exceptions were originally meant for things like sheds. But people started to make them into complete small houses called attefallshus, and you are allowed to make it into a permanent living structure. So people have made a lot of super inspiring and creative solutions for making something pretty great out of such a small space. Pretty much all of them are designed to be connected to public water and power grid, and have just normal water toilets etc in them. While many are very interested in sustainability and sustainable living in Sweden so there are loads of houses made with that in mind aswell.

@@mikevarga2058 It's really somewhere in between when I see your comments, at one end I see you practice an original thought process and develop our brains, on other there's the whole attitude of also being ignorant of what's really out there in objective reality, not all blacks live in social housing or are frustrated, a large amount doesn't mean all and I will add that it's upto the own individual regardless of color to preach for having a house or not, cause not all people have same requirements, not all people should preach for same things, otherwise I can say there are some dire consequences of that thought process, everyone will start hoarding heaps of lands and then there will be no place for animals, nature to survive, through which we survive too, we are not that apart from it. So I find it a harmful message to tell everyone to seek out on earth's resources in large amounts, with that earth will not replenish and will be unsustainable for human and animal life and maybe nature might just take things back from us.

There's copious stories out there. Please stop being tricked by this biggest world wide lie ever perpetrated on humanity. Yes that's right, now nurses around the world can stop tick-tock dancing in hospital corridors, after learning dance routines at work when they're apparently run off their feet. One routine even involved carrying a wrapped up first aid dummy as a fake Cadaver and were carrying it funeral style down a corridor in the dance. I would build a Book shelve and put a contractable projector screen in front of it. A projector hanging from the ceiling above the couch and voila: A book shelve/reading area that can be converted into a TV Room. Or alternatively: have a TV mounted to the ceiling, so you can pull it down, if you want to watch TV and if not you have a beautiful wall of books. *.* Sinve I'm also heavy into Gaming I would connect my Tower PC to it, this way I could avoid a separate office area. (A Laptop just doesn't work for heavy duty games)

Yes, this is the first time I've seen them make allowances for the mold that collects under mattresses. I've always said to myself, every time I watch these videos where the mattress is directly on the floor, "but won't the mattress get moldy?"
@cleonawallace3764 жыл бұрын
@@bushwitch I don't know much about it, but I know a lot of vanlife people talk about how important it is to give your mattress spaces to breathe and not go mouldy. I think the indie projects may have a video about it
@louisegogel79734 жыл бұрын
I too would love to hear Bryce and his lovely wife, Rassa, (You two make a powerful talented team!) cover the subject of moisture in tiny houses, especially in the mattresses, kitchens, and bathrooms. I know from my college days, way back, learning the hard way, that body humidity goes through the mattress and if there is no air to diffuse it away, it collects on the floor boards, or whatever the mattress is laying on.
@dutchcourage73124 жыл бұрын
it's probably mostly got to do with all the moisture that leaks out of the water-bags that lay down on those mattresses... we sweat a ridiculous amount when we sleep and that water has to go somewhere. Apparently it's effected by gravity and thus draws down through the mattress, if the bottom is sealed then the water can't evaporate from the underside and thus you get this 'dark, wet, somewhat warm' place where molds like to grow (and there will be mold spores there because these are basically everywhere, so when you put the mattress down you likely sealed couple 100 spores underneath that will most certainly start to turn into mold and grow once the right conditions are met). BUT, at the same time i do still wonder about moisture in a tiny house, because i noticed in a normal house that having little to no water in the house makes the air really dry and that can effect your airways (dry throat all the time) in a somewhat unpleasant way. So having some water vapor is most definitely wanted. Likely it's all about trying to strike a good balance, having proper ventilation (and ventilating actively by keeping doors/windows open), and not having locations that are permanently wet (and dark and warm).
@bushwitch4 жыл бұрын
@@louisegogel7973 That's right. I see in a lot of tiny house videos though that the ceiling height in the loft spaces don't seem to allow for any easy lifting or turning of the mattress. I'd just be interested in learning what their tricks and tips are.

I love that her house has storage in the loft, and you can stand up. I can't say I'd enjoy hanging out in a hammock slung that high, but it's a creative space-saving solution, to be sure.
