Don't just put in a few sockets here and there, put loads in everywhere, you can never have too many and you always end up needing more than you think you will. Congrats on the new build! 👍👶

I forgot to say my 2 post has 4 sockets on it, I use those the most for welding vehicles and additional lights. But outside of that I really don't think I use that many sockets 🤔 I had the workbench ones at the old barn and what I had on the ramp. I'm adding in more than I think I'll need but we'll see 😄

The blue 'commando' plugs don't have any fuses in, so your lathe, plasma, mill etc will have to have 32Amp cable from their plugs into the machines. If you have smaller rated cables between the plug and the machine they won't be adequately protected by a 32Amp fuse. Fuses are really there to protect cable so any cable should be rated bigger than the fuse protecting it. Hope that makes sense? As for sockets, always get more than you think, it's so much easier to add them all at the same time, again use correctly rated cable - 2.5mm t&e is rated at 20Amps in conduit or 27Amps clipped. I would use plastic conduit just to add a bit of protection as you will be cutting, grinding etc. PS - I am not a qualified electrician!!! 🙂

Good point, well made. I am aware they aren't fused and the safety of getting your fuse to fuse before your wire fuses 😄 The lathe arrived at my old barn without any plug and I thought 'i bet it wasn't on a 13amp plug but it's all I've got available' 😄 I'll check what's on there is suitable before attaching it to a 32amp supply
