Huge congratulations to Mother, and to you. What a lovely surprise to come back to YT with. At least he is confirmation that your winky still operates, which is always good to have. That ramp install is great, I bet that was A LOT of work?

Thank you very much. It was a fair bit of work! The breaking up of the existing concrete was pretty back breaking stuff!

Good to seenyou back! I love the trumpy Triumph exhaust note, such a lovely little engine. Damn, I need another Dolomite in my life.

I was staring at the thumbnail for a few seconds before i figured out who you are. Good to see an update. That carb is tiny. A decent engine would take one of these per cylinder.

Nice to see you back. Happy New Year. The Dolly was sounding so much better after your work. Nice to see the 2 post lift in, looks great with nice flat floor.

Congrats all round. Rather ironic that the one road vehicle that HASN'T got a Saab engine is the Triumph, given that engine's origins.

There is something planned but it isn't Saab powered 😏

Congrats to you and Rowena! Soo happy for you. I hope you get time to continue your tinkering. I want to see the Scimitar going again! And thanks for all the great content. You’re the best Welsh saab nutter

The needle housing slide inside SU carbs has two small holes in the bottom which allow the induction air passing over it to create a vacuum inside the slide that pulls it up. An old trick to improve throttle response on SU's was to open up those two holes in the bottom of the slide.

Well well well I never knew that, it does make sense. I love SUs, so simple and elegant.

You could get an hif 44 or hs6 if you want a larger carb dont forget to change the coil from a ballast to electronic coil

Looks like a waxstat SU - I converted a pair of these using 2x2p coins in place of the crap little wax element, they are notoriously unreliable so might be worth doing while the carb is off the engine.

I'm not quite sure how you find the energy. I only work in an office and I'm done at the end of the day. I moan about filling the dishwasher while you're digging holes in concrete and looking after the family!

Yeah, I know Triumph meant "The Dolomites", a bit of the Italian Alps. But it was the geologist in me...@@LivingMyBoostLife
