Here I provide an overview of Florida dry camping locations. I take you to 12 separate dry camping locations, all located in Florida. Dry camping is simply camping without hookups. Why would you want to dry camp? 1) It is less expensive. 2) You can land a campsite much easier, even in the winter in Florida. 3) The dry camping locations I show in this video are located outside of congested areas, so you'll be experiencing natural Florida.
There is a separate video for each camping location shown in this video. Each respective video provides important additional information not provided within this overview. You may access all these videos by subscribing to our KZbin channel, navigating to the playlist tab, and opening our Florida Playlist.

Arizona is ok, lots of BLM lands to choose from, some free and never see a Ranger,,,others you pay and Rangers will keep track of your in/out date and enforce!@@Jeffbob442

Appreciate the insight; rarely I hear someone use the wording Dry Camping which actuality that’s what it is; are you allowed to use a Generator; I could only see myself when the weather at nights is cool enough to sleep comfortably and not have to use a Generator. How about Dump stations? Thankfully North FLA is cooler then here in South FLA

Thank you for this feedback. This is a dry camping overview video providing highlights. We've done individual videos that go into more detail on each camping location covered in the video. As for the art of dry camping, we cover some essentials in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJnYiWxrj7WZfs0si=W77Pt3yUUrI3Ulhl Common sense dictates that you time your visit so that the climate is pleasant for your intended dry camping location. Something as simple as a USB powered personal fan can make sleeping a lot better if you get caught in a hot snap. Lou

Interesting. You missed a whole class of cheap/free (for over 65 Fl residents) dry CG. That is the doezen or so Florida State Forests. There is a nice, equestrian CG with ten pull thru sites just outside Newberry FL, 10 bucks a night. They have a water spigot in the CG but otherwise dry. Fire rings and Picnic tables. Called Watermelon pond. Lots of hiking trails and access to the pond. I have rarely seen anyone there. Other State Forests are scattered around the state with CG. Online reservations.

Is there a lake at Lake Panasofkee campground? All I saw was a big open field where you bake in the sun. Looked like the worst one you showed. No sites on the lake?

It's called boondocking; no hookups.😊
@LivingOurDreamNow
@LivingOurDreamNow 7 ай бұрын
Actually, boondocking would not be the correct term for camping in a campground without hookups. Boondocking is defined as: "the activity of camping (= sleeping outside in a tent or special vehicle) on land that does not have any services and is not part of an official campground". Lou

I really wish that Fl. residents such as myself were not prevented by snow birds from camping during the best part of the year at the better areas, which our taxes fund, without a 1 year reservation. We should make 10% of every state park non reservable and for florida residents only.
@LivingOurDreamNow

West Virginia has no restrictions for non-residents in reserving campsites in our state parks and forests. I do believe that any state that imposes restrictions on non-residents should have an automatic restriction imposed on that state's residents in every other state. Now that would level the playing field. I suppose Florida residents won't mind, as long as they never camp outside of the Sunshine State. Oh yea -- West Virginia doesn't charge an entry fee for most of our parks (and our tax dollars pay for that). Lou
