I have a AA...wish I could play as well as you. Luckily, I had a reproducer installed so I do get to here it sing. What I love about them is they can just be much more bombastic down low than a Steinway or even more melancholy.

Robert, what a delightful playing! Thank for your videos!!! I have a 1931 Mason & Hamlin Model A, and absolutely in love! ❤
I wish you were in SF Bay Area. I have a couple of students who are looking for a grand piano. This could have been a great option.

Thank you for playing one of my favorite pieces, the Bach Prelude in C. I played that piece on Frank Lloyd Wright's Knabe grand at Taliesin West. The second piece is absolutely delightful. I'm not familiar. It shows off the piano well.

Nice to know that piano plays. I took a tour recently and, of course, gawked at that Knabe. How is it??

@@insidepianos In tune and excellent repair. I'd say it lives up to Robert Estrin's standards. The action was uniform and nice. And the hollow in the wall was very effective at projecting the warm, rich sound to the audience. It felt good on my ears while I was playing. This was, maybe, a decade ago. I haven't been back, although one of the things on my bucket list is to return and play Rachmaninoff's Prelude in c# on it.

@@PatGoltz Sounds like a special performance. I hope another works out for you!

@@insidepianos Thank you. We'll see. They ask for volunteers to play the piano, and I volunteered. So they maintain the piano.

Amazing. I imagine this in a cabaret in the roaring 20s.

Was there any consideration to adding a Wessel, Nickel and Gross action?

I prefer to use the specifications of the original parts intended for the piano when it was manufactured

Hey Robert! Can you make a video detailing your perspective on working out and building muscle as a pianist. I'm wondering if it has the potential to induce tension in your technique and therefore is something to avoid. Thanks!

Masons are built like tanks, (almost weigh as much too), and have the greatest tone in my opinion. I've never met an old Mason I didn't like. My personal one is a 52" upright from 1898.

I love that creamy, thick treble, typical M&H tone.

I am amazed at the whispering pianissimos which cannot be done on a badly regulated piano. And anyone who practices and plays on such a piano will be forever damaged. This piano seems very impressive indeed. how much is it going for?
