The thing I love about your videos is that you give the background and get to the point without rehashing all you are doing over and over again. Your communication skills and experience developed in the corporate world in communicating with people make listening to you a pleasure. Great job.

A suggestion: Your work lane between the pig pens looks useful. If you swapped out the gates for longer ones that would span the lane when opened fully, you could dispense with having to pack the separate hog panel to shut it off. By placing the hinges on opposite sides of each gate, simply swing them across and have the two pens connected until you got through moving pigs. Good job on your channel, well deserved congrats.

I thought the same thing. Switch the hinges, add a longer gate and VOILA! Gate/blockade. Love these videos. Thx for sharing your lives.

Love pigs-Many, MANY years ago, I won awards while on the FFA Swine Chain. Also at our local animal auction, the auctioneer advertised a couple weeks ahead of time whenever I was going to bring in Weaner/Feeder pigs-he always got me the highest prices for my gentled pigs. I surely wish I could get back in to raising pigs again. I am so loving the IPP’s! I had mainly Durocs back then. I’m 61 now-so 4H & FFA was over 40 years ago!!! I don’t plant here until after the 1st of June we have 27 degree here every night. Last frost is towards the end of May; 1st frost is usually mid September!

Same by me with rocks. The rocks multiply exponentially. Clear a bed one season, all good. Try to put in stakes the following year and bang!

I was thinking the same. I live near Nixa MO and there is no way you could pound a post in our ground. When we dug a hole, we would get almost a bucket of rocks. We had to buy dirt to fill around the plant.

I "got fooled" a bit with the warmer weather. I have a small garden in pots, mostly a salad mix (spinach, red leaf lettuce and romaine). I have a few herbs and a few cherry tomato plants (seeded themselves from last year) that I need to cover because we have a freeze warning tonight near Nashville TN. Hope they all survive.

I respect you guys for what you've become and love your content. I don't eat mammals ... I gave it up 20 years ago because of the horrendous conditions of factory farming and their rushed & sloppy slaughters. The animals, who should've been treated well from beginning to end for their sacrifice in order to feed us, were treated disgustingly. It's been so long now that I won't be going back but I could raise feeder chickens and have a cow for milk but unfortunately age and physical issues has limited me to some food gardening and layer hens. I sure wish I'd have known about your kind of homesteading 30 years ago. Love you two 🐄🌱🐖🌱🐗🌱🐔

FYI: I've seen newborn piglets go through a sheep & goat fence. Being newborns especially, momma was very aggressively trying to get to them. I would put either another strip of fence or pig fence on the bottom of your gate before the other mom has her piglets. It can save you a lot of stress and possibly a emergency situation.
