Girl, you are a saint!! I've lived in a home with roaches when I first moved out on my own. The family I lived with tried so hard to get rid of them. A big culprit is not only clutter but cardboard. So if the family can get rid of boxes, and switch to plastic storage that would really help!

Those roaches often breed in the water system. Holes in walls and baseboards are also a problem. So renovating is often necessary.

After I had my twins I had ppd so bad. The meds they had me on made me numb to everything. My house was so bad which wasn’t normal for me. The mess was just overwhelming and it just built up. I wished someone would’ve just helped and guided me in that time. Instead everyone just saw me as being lazy, and said the most negative things. And all I needed was a hand to pull me out of the funk. Instead i was thankful to come across your cleaning channel and some others, and I can’t even being to put into words how much it helped me get back to my normal self. You all have taught me so much. This series makes my heart happy. Im so thankful this family has you to help them. You are a blessing. Never stop shining your light in the lives of others.

Not being negative- this is a genuine question. If those were cockroaches running around then shouldn't the bug exterminator have done his bit BEFORE you started cleaning because they are just going to run all over what you've just cleaned making it unsanitary again?
@franceskey79
@franceskey79 Жыл бұрын
@@carolinejohn4537I would think they need to clean before exterminating so the bugs don't have so many places to hide? Just my guess though.

Lavender and cayenne pepper are the best natural bug deterrents. Mix it with water in a spray bottle and put it around the house. You'll need about 2 tablespoons of powdered cayenne pepper for every gallon of water, if it settles shake before using. Pet and kid friendly and great for the garden too.

Hi Cambria, you are such a good person to do this. I used to go home to another state and while I was there I cleaned every time for an elderly family member. They were borderline hoarders and lots of bugs. I bug bombed the place and then I cleaned and cleaned. One thing that did work was putting baking soda all around, it kills roaches and bugs. Must put in hidden places if there are kids and animals. It is also a good idea to spray and treat outside too. God bless you for helping them.

There are plenty of natural plants that bugs don't like, even cockroaches, so once the house has completed the spraying/extermination process, wouldn't be a bad idea to have lavender plants grown outside the house and have sprigs of it about the place. Well done Cambriea for helping them out.

For you to see such great things in every situation is a blessing and virtue. As I was watching the video and you mentioned how cool the kitchen floor pattern was I was shocked because I was thinking the exact same thing while you were mopping. Oh and I'm digging the kitchen cabinets with the wood grain stripe - c'mon if they were in some cool townhouse or somewhere, esp in better condition, I am sure many people would agree they are cool!! Thanks Cambria for being your strong, positive self, it is felt by many of us online friends of yours.

Thank God for you and those like you to give a helping hand. Every word you said was so true in the beginning as you were explaining how real it is for the home to get out of control and working with what you have. It is very real that most people can't afford a whole home renovation. The amazing cleaning you are doing is enough to give them that motivation to just do what they can do. When a person can take that first step to ask for help, they should be so proud of themselves! And who knows who may reach out to you and want to help also like maybe a free bug spray treatment and other things like that.

Love these series! I would recommend to wear a mask as well with the bug spray. Also when cleaning places with roaches I would recommend sanitizing or tossing the shoes that you wear there. Roach eggs stick to the bottom of your shoes. I would be extremely cautious about that as well so you don’t happen to bring them home with you. Also with vacuums I wouldn’t take a vacuum there and bring it back home. Toss it. But you are amazing to do this for someone!

I haven't done it in years, though, but when I retire from the Army, I plan to return to it. I will say, working with hoarders can be challenging. It takes me some time to show them I will not 'help' them by throwing their things away. I am patient and know it is a process. I have lived in both Florida and Texas. Any deep southern climate given the heat and proliferation of bugs really demands professional, consistent extermination services (i.e., quarterly sprays both yard and house) that keeps the house pest free. Of course consistent cleanliness is a must too, and I realize finances are necessary to utilize profession pest control, but if possible, it makes a real difference.

What an amazing gift you are, Cambria. You got so much accomplished in just a few hours. Big projects are certainly overwhelming. I like the idea of decluttering the visual spaces first i.e. kitchen counter vs closet to keep you motivated. The kitchen looks much nicer with the counters cleared and everything having a good scrub. I do love the Parquet wood floors. What a beautiful feature. Are they throughout the house?

PRO TIP for the flies. Pour some dishshop in the sink drain, let sit for 5 minutes, then pour a pot boiling water down the drain, do this everyday for a week. Also avoid having any sitting water. I had brought my plants in for the winter and ended up with gnats. Nothing was working long term until I got a fly zapper racket combined with the boiling water.

Looks so good! One of the best and cost effective treatments for waterbugs is an equal portion of powdered sugar and baking soda. Sugar brings them in, baking soda kills them.
