OMG thank you sooo much. I've been eyeballing generations for about 2 years now as well. I've been considering the history for my highschooler. but I'm sold on getting ALLLL the history levels (I have 9 kids preschool-10th grade) to do with all of them of course ima find a way to do it it small groups. I am also definitely getting the economics course for my 10th grader. Thanks again for the review!

I loved watching your review! I'm one of the math curriculum writers for Generations. I'm so glad you liked the kinder math book! I'm currently working on 3rd grade math. I was a teacher and I researched curriculum before pulling my own kids out of a christian school and I loved these books so much that I started writing for them. I've had many of the books easily reimbursed through PEP as well. The children's literature is also excellent as well as the accompanying question packs. My kids went through Heidi (there are amazing reflection questions in here reflecting upon Bible verses) and Pilgrim's Progress this year. I absolutely love God's Big Story. We used level 4 last year and are in level 5 this year. I'm also using that Proverbs book on Fridays this year. There are accompanying history workbooks which contain the questions you were looking for. I've used Taking Americas for Jesus, Taking Asia for Jesus, and we just started reading Taking Africa for Jesus. These books all have a missionary focus so I incorporate biography read-a-louds with my kids. If you are interested in reading some in-depth material I recommend the blue Worldview high school textbook as well as Epoch. Pastor Kevin's books Upgrade and Family Life are great family resources to help people focus on the things that are important.

I'm using their 9th grade economics course this year with my 2 high schoolers. It is SO biblical. There is scripture on EVERY page. If you want a very biblically grounded curriculum, Generations is it.

@@LivingWithEve As you flip through, notice how much of the text is in GREEN print. That is all scripture.

I am using Generations History and love it. You can get the teacher's guide which has the worksheets and questions along with maps to help tie in the geography. I'm almost finished level 2 and I have already purchased level 3.

I was so excited to see you look into this curriculum. I was just thinking I'd love your opinion on their science vs masters book science since you teach science. Any chance we could get a video on that.

Listening to founder, Kevin Swanson speak about his passion for discipling his children through homeschool is what launched me into considering homeschooling! We don’t use them for every subject, but we love their reading God’s Big Story and the history. Looking at Proverbs for next year. I always try to know what I’m going to use from them for the following year by Thanksgiving - Cyber Monday sale is 🔥.

For history : we have the activity books the boys do on their own. Plus we put up a paper timeline across part of our kitchen to add dates people and little clip art pictures to help us remember and review. Every once in a while we do something to go back and review a few stories at a time verbally. Before Christmas I printed off a free “story map” and had the boys write important details and then edit and rewrite about their favorite story so far. I’m having them read their reports out loud to grandparents next time we see them.

I’m using generations for the second year now. I love it! I think their biggest sale is on Black Friday and cyber Monday. I believe it was cyber Monday they had things 50% off! I bought items for next year I knew that I was definitely going to use in our homeschool. Saved myself $150! No joke! I really love their stuff!

Can't wait to see your entire review... We're hesitant w/ this one due to the creator being "reformed" / and or Calvinist ......a philosophy that we do not subscribe to..... so mos def hesitant but curious at the same time... TYSMFS

In 1st history today, I had to reword some things because it talked about God choosing who He'll save. We believe all can be saved if they believe-not God picking certain people.

We are not Reformed either and have been using Generations for 3 years. It is absolutely our favorite, especially for history and science . I love the biblical worldview and the Scripture throughout. I have not really come across anything that we actually disagree with, I have reworded a few things, but overall it is really a great curriculum.
