Yes! Have been to so many classes and nobody has ever really explained the downward dog. Can now feel all the feels I should be!

Hi Liv. Your instruction is the most thorough and comprehensive of all the "how to" videos that I've seen on KZbin. Thank you for your help.

thank you! as a beginner to yoga, downward dog has kind of been presented as a “basic” movement that everyone knows already … except I had no idea how to really do it. thanks again!

Yes Liv!! This is so great! I've mostly always done yoga by myself or online which made me insecure if I do poses like these (the basics) correctly! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us🙏🥰

That was the best explanation of how to place my shoulders and armpits I’ve seen in 2 years of learning! Thank you 🙏 I’m currently suffering shoulder impingement/tendinitis and I think bad dog is a root cause 😆 I’m very slight with long but thin arms and have been really trying to build upper body strength… and then bam! Really painful shoulders and no weight bearing while recovering. Are there any tips you can guide me towards to protect my shoulders but continue my practice? I’d be so grateful! ☺️

This was such a great video. So informative for a beginner like me. I like your saying "wrapping your armpits toward your face" part. I could really feel a difference and with no pain. Thank you so much!

Ha! So I just completed your "Full Body Stretch - Gentle Yoga Flow 45 Minute Class" video. Which was awesome, *except*, that every time we went into downward dog I muttered "I hate this, I cannot do this pose, I don't even know what the goal is here" or something similar. I enjoyed the video so much that I went to your channel to see what else you had and if you were still posting, and lo and behold..... four days ago you posted this!! A super-clear tutorial INCLUDING a description of the point of the pose. Thank you so much!! I am subscribing and saving this video.

You are a fantastic teacher. You do an awesome job of not just showing the positions but explaining why it is done that way and what is happening in the body. I have had tight hamstrings (or so I thought) surely for longer than you have been alive (I'm 63) and now i find out that oh maybe the primary issue was not actually tight hamstrings, but the nerves being "protective" and telling my body to not let the hamstrings loosen up. A few days into doing the nerve relaxation (glide I think you called it) and I have gained more flexibility than a decades worth of stretching has accomplished. Thank you. You are life changing in a very positive way.

I watch and follow many of your videos, and I have found these ones that break down individual yoga poses to be so incredibly helpful for me. The smallest changes have made the biggest difference in my practices. I would love to see more poses - especially basic/common ones broken down like this! So valuable

Hi Liv! Thanks for the tips. Im always unsure about how to place my arms, it’s a bit difficult to recognise on my own how to do it by just looking at a screen. But your advice on how to place the shoulders was easy to understand. Will try to put it into practice onwards. Thanks tons!

So helpful and well explained. I’m starting to use down dog as part of rehab for a rugby shoulder injury where I have lost high level range (I can’t put my arm straight up in the air) and this is such a great video to help me get the right form.

Hello Liv, I just wanted to say "THANK YOU" from the bottom of my heart for your wonderful, and expert, and happy classes you provide here on your channel. Really nice! Since I discovered your channel recently, your videos are quickly becoming my favorites for my daily practice. I am beginner (doing yoga regularly last 18 months) and I was wandering if you could make more slower & longer classes with enough time to breathe and think in between the moves? There are some, but if you could have some more that would be much appreciated.(60-70-80-90 minutes long). THANK YOU again! Hare Krishna.

Thanks for the tutorial (and all your other tutorials 😁). There are a lot of down dog - plank transitions. When done this way, aren't the feet and arms too close together? Or is the distance really flexible and we just do it as needed for whatever we are doing?

Thanks for the tips! Try to bend my knees to keep my back straight but always end up a bit rounding on my lower back. Even i need to keep my back a little bit backwards when i sit with straight leg because my lower back keep rounding. Poor posture i guess? 😔
@Livinleggings3 жыл бұрын
Just sounds like tight hamstrings, doesn’t matter if it sounds slightly, as long as you’re thinking of pushing sit bones up and thighs back, perfection not required for it to be correct! 👌🏼
