Many candidates for both "Father/Captain" of the year.....AGAIN!!! NO life jackets on the kids, let alone anybody else knowing they were going out in that! (again, down to captain!) And, who thinks that ANY pontoon would do well in that...blows my mind each time I see these vids! Hilarious!!! Let alone any of the 'lake/wakeboard' boats!

The “ Dusky” one was probably best, the captain managed to find a sensible balance between speed and comfort. At times finding the sweet spot in rough or heavy seas can be a challenge. The important thing is to know what your boat is capable of doing safely, they come in different shapes and sizes so you do need to know the feel of your boat. With practice you learn to understand when something is right or not, be patient and things will become easier to understand. Learn to read the sea and it will stand you in good stead for the future, try to understand about tides and how they affect your boat. A boat is an investment so put in some time to learn a few things and it will reward you.

i think youre 1000% correct. there are very few days at haulover a pontoon can safely navigate the inlet. that day was not one of those days

What's the speed of the "TIDE" thru this short inlet.... lol, imagine the brute force after heavy rains & the outgoing tides at the same time? Take that & compound it w/ any winds coming across & the mix for disaster is ready to ROLL Out !! This outlet is to be avoided if at all possible .. peace & be safe

There's a number of boats that have little or no business going out on the sea >> > 14'-22' boats w/ a low cut front when there's a Small Craft Advisory ought to air to the side of caution but they choose instead to use a lack thereof..... after the 1st 30-40 gals come over the bow you know the next, "drink" will be a Big Gulp(no pun intended) for sure. But does that scare them? Not enough of them or we wouldn't still be seeing so many w/o a clue?! At least put the kids in a life-vest/
