For animation inside UE you can add a control rig for the character and animate using a sequencer, then you can bake de animation sequence to get your animations. You can also animate static meshes but you will have to be careful and place the object in absolute zero of the object in order to replay the animation correctly in-game. Hope it helps this or any other future projects! :b

I saw people on the internet animating in the engine but it didn’t seem like it was as much animating as much as it was tweaking original animations made in outside software. I've been trying to get into casual game developing and your journey is definitely inspiring me to give it a shot. Still not sure if I want to go with Unity and its less-of-a-nightmare language of C sharp, or if I just want to see how far I can get with blueprints in Unreal. Also something I want to do (and you might want to look into as well!) is get a cheap motion capture suit so I can create my own realistic animations without doing it all by hand.

I thank the people who suffered with c sharp so we can enjoy blueprints. Nameless heros.

If you're wanting to dip your toes in the water with casual game development, I highly suggest Unity, as it's essentially the middleman in terms of difficulty and learning. I say this because I'm in a class and currently learning it myself.

Pls stop recommending unity. This engine is hopelessly outdated, hasn’t nearly the graphical possibilities and features of UE5 and blueprints make it MUCH easier to make a game then programming code in unity. Most games which come out of unity are mediocre and only very experienced devs can get good, and well optimized games out of unity. Greetings from a developer who developed 5 years with unity, then switched to UE4 which was like the revelation of Christ lol.

Love these types of videos ! I don't speak programming language and barely understand any of it on a technical level, but I just love to see how things are made and see the game come to life as the video progresses. My laptop's charger is currently dead, meaning the whole computer is unusable, but I'll definitely play the game when it gets fixed !

Hey Lixian. Wanna say you do an amazing job at what you do. From making games, to editing and make videos. Plus what you do for Mark. Just seeing all you can accomplish is just amazing to watch and also brightens my day when I’m down. Maybe a few days late to the party I wanna say thanks for being a part of this KZbin community man.

@@PinkyChibi think they’re referring to the head bobbing animation. It feels immersion breaking in FPS games when you seamlessly float from point A to point B. Realistic walking usually has slight head bobbing.

@@catcactus1234 in my opinion head Bob isn't that necessary because it always gives me motion sickness from camera shaking a lot, especially when the map was pretty dark already, head Bob will make me go: 😵😵

@PinkyChibi old comment but I agree. Every time there's head bobbing I turn it off or very low if I can. Like your brain naturally accounts for movement when you walk irl so there's not much visual input of your head moving up and down so it's actually immersion breaking when a character looks like they're experiencing whiplash every time they move forward lol
