I think people are forgetting the fact that Ted Bundy was Narcissistic and a Psychopath. They'll say certain things to manipulate you and mess with your mind. This is what he did to her. He always pulled her back in and wrote her letters from jail. She was psychological and emotionally abused by him. Not many people will get this unless you go through it yourself. This is why my heart breaks for this woman, because I can see the pain in her eyes. It was so hard for her to let go, because she was in denial for a long time. I wish nothing but the best for Liz and her daughter Molly.

Any of us who have truly loved a narcissist understand, even if they were not serial killers. Mine was the highschool love of my life. I finally got over him after 30 years and he showed back up again after my mother died and I felt sorry for him. His life was a mess and he ended up committing suicide right in front of his mother and sister. I never should have spoken to him again. They really get in your head even if you are smart. Liz is smart and so is her daughter.

@@MeadeSkeltonMusic Narcism is a scale, in fact there is a psycopathy scale. Ted rated 39. What's interesting about Ted in that sense though is that unlike some psycopaths he knew what he was doing and why it was wrong and at the same time he could be charming and charismatic. That's the danger with Ted. He knew what he was doing he just didn't care for human life beyond its means to him. That makes him a malignant sociopath. I think one of the reasons why he studied psychology and law is that he wanted to know why he was the way he was. He just couldn't help himself before he acted out. He's the type with spousal abuse today. Except when he lost his everything he couldn't get over it and acted out as a result. Those types of people are on every street corner in this world today. The only thing with it back then is that the police couldn't catch a trick. The sad part today is that he'd be arrested after the first incident and most likely spend the rest of his life in prison. It wouldn't have taken as many as 30+ cases for it to have ended the way it did. It's largely the police's fault. As to Molly, Ted was with Liz because he was also a pedophile and I don't want to know more than what Molly wrote in Liz's book to know that. He went through Liz to get to Molly. Liz put up with it like a lot of people with spousal abuse because she was afraid of losing her "everything."

I felt much of this until I read Liz's re-release of MY PHANTOM PRINCE, and Liz's horrible stupidity is detailed BY HER and I learned a lot of the Why's. It made me sick to read Liz admitting, "Why was I so needy?" but happier when she had emotionally separated... then begrudgingly gave in for small amounts while he was in Florida jails. This book is a sickening but fascinating look into the heart and mind of her emotional neediness and how she fell into that pit way too often. "Sickening" is a good word but it's also interesting to realize that Ted was hopping around with a few other girlfriends, and only sticking around those who would take the bait. Most did not, so he kept 'fishing' for those personalities. This was exactly like Nov 8, 1974, when Ted failed to kidnap (and kill) Carol DeRonch but after an hour's recovery BY HIM, he was out hunting again, this time driving across town and located 14 year old Debra Kent to kidnap and kill. Once his Kill Appetite started, he would not stop.

You can find peace when you accept reality. For example, when a loved one dies, you cannot tell yourself the person is still alive. Because then you go looking for this person, and it hurts because you cannot find this person anymore. When you accept the person is dead, you will come to terms with it. The same goes for Ted, he killed, he was an abuser, he didnt love her, but she kept telling herself the person she knew, is still there, but the person never existed and the person she thought he is, is dead. Its not him, it never was, it never will be.

No one can possibly judge a partner, daughter, son or parent for loving “the serial killer” … From having dated a psychopath years ago, I can testify that it would be impossible to break the narcissistic cycle of abuse and manipulation until you break off contact entirely. Ted had a really loving side with a kind face and angelic smile that could light up a room. Unbelievable how he could be capable of such incredulous and incomprehensible evil. The 2020 re-release of her updated MY PHANTOM PRINCE details a fairly different story that these clips do when they're glued together. In particular, the King County policewoman Kathleen McChesney is quite a villain in this tale, as she interviewed Liz extensively and her reports were full of lies or errors that Liz tried to correct - but McChesney never did. These created pools of misinformation for other investigators to wallow in and stumble around, missing a lot of search options. Also, Liz had observed Ted's blackhearted terror as he let daughter Molly experience the terror of drowning. After that weekend, Ted was no longer visiting them, and it wasn't until many years later that Molly opened up about Ted's sexual advances. In Molly's new chapter-addendum to that re-released book, she discusses this and how Florida's Kimberly Leach was Molly's age - 12, and the horror that a few years earlier, that could have been Molly's fate. It's a powerful book, full of episodes showing Liz's stupidity and naiveté - embarrassingly so. I consider her so brave to keep those many chapters in her book (first published in 1981). For any Ann Rule fans, Liz's re-release details several untruths that Ann created for her own publicity.

There is a person in my life that I deem as not completely safe. He has no scruples committing petty crimes for instance, and the reason he is hard to let go of isnt his charm, or he has me fooled, although I give in and fall under a pretend dance, but its because he rrally cant take no for an answer. It foesnt register with him. When he wants something it doesnt matter what anyone says, rejection in any form doesnt exit. Most people have pride enoug and regulate early when they are not wanted and just go away, but this guy is the opposite. I even tried pushing him out of my apartment physically, getting help from police etc. And at some point I start to pity him for how im behaving, and for his behaviour. I cant imagine what has lead him to have no pride and self preservation left that he still wants to stay even under these circumstances. Well, I kind of do know and I think this pity and understanding is the achilles heel. I do feel very bad for him. And here is the full circle of knowing better for myself than to be involved with someone who commits crimes, who behaves dangerously at times, but giving in and giving up at some point taking care of myself and start being a source of care or suckker for this type of person, and empathize with them. Its hard to shut off empathy completely. The more you know, the more you pity them. It is a shame that someone has gotten to that point

Carol, I think the world of you, but I don't like the title of the video. I hope and pray Liz has truly healed from what Ted put her thru. Liz loved Ted, but Ted never loved Liz. He manipulated her. Used her. Attempted to kill her and her daughter on one occasion by starting a fire in her house. He was a psychopath and incapable of love. It was a toxic unhealthy one sided relationship. Ted was a narcissist that found an insecure woman who didn't question him. After Ted was gone Liz became more self assured, stronger and began to believe in herself. Getting away from Ted is the best thing that ever happened to Liz. No she's not Ted's girl. She's Liz, a strong, brave, confident woman who raised a beautiful daughter and learned she didn't need a man to take care of her. She had the strength to do it herself. It takes a lot of courage to come out of hiding and tell this story. Liz I admire you greatly.

She was bright enough to instantly recognize the police sketch in the newspapers at the time of the Lake Sammamish kidnappings. She was bright enough to piece together information she read about in the local papers. You feel me? Ted was living a double life. He was this bright and charming average guy with friends and family doing normal and regular things, and then was secretly also living the sociopathic other life as well. The guy was a victim just as much as all those deceased girls. EVERYONE lost at the end. Poor Liz was in love with the "charming" and "normal" Ted. Poor lady had no clue what this fool was doing behind everyone's back. This POS kept EVERYONE, including detectives, in a state of confusion, distortion, deception, and manipulation.

She was desperate, saddled with a kid, not geat looking and she saw Ted as attractive & successful. She was obsessed and i think she still is in love knowing what he did to 11 - 12 year old girls and a hundred more. He even exposed himself to her child !!!!!!! There are desperate, hopeless women out there. Now she is doing movies and books, blood money after 45 years. *

@Rehana Tabassum What if you are in her pov, you have a psychopathic boyfriend like Ted who is great at manipulate you to believe and love him and then finding out he's a serial killer? Almost all people will go blindly panic and can't even think if they're making a right or wrong decision either want to protect him or tell everything to the police. Because you know him for many years and do love him from your bottom of the heart. Of course there will be a mass confusion in your head, same as what has been happened to Liz. So I don't blame Liz for being a pathetic clingy woman like you said, because Liz was being manipulated by Ted all the time, and she was a main reason that Ted was executed. She is a very strong woman. So, mind your word, dear! (Sorry for my bad english) :)
