as someone who is new to the game, I'm wondering if these videos are still relevant 3 years later or can we expect a re-do of them in the near future? all the team breakdowns have been superbly done

Most are very relevant unless team has been updated. Then they will get done! And welcome to the game!

With how hard it is to dodge away with Sauruses, might make sense giving Dauntless to a Skink for those critical Blitzes into a cage especially considering how much TV (not to mention the SPP) it costs in comparison to +ST (40k vs 80k)
@garrhettroebuck84024 жыл бұрын
True but +St is also good when getting hit and you don't have to do a dice roll to activate it... we all know how Nuffle likes to throw you a cheeky 1 at the worst times.

I'd just like to throw out Stand Firm for a great option for the Kroxigor. Getting to be assured that the Prehensile Tail stays where you want it can be nice.

I'm surprised you never add jump up to the skink skills, in one of the leagues I play in, one player has a couple of jump up skinks and they are awesome
@alejandrovictoriaorts1624 жыл бұрын
Great one as always! These are starting to get really handy now that I have started playing :)

I've always found the best uses for skinks on defense is to run into positions where they might be needed to give assists and where they will not be in contact with any opposing players as long as you can at least push back the target of the block. That makes them useful without putting them in excessive danger. Remember normally intimidating dodges can be just fine with a skink. Dart through the feets tiny frog. Block is definitely a solid pick-up on skinks, they will more often than not be the target of blitzes by players hoping to casualty them. Try not to end your turns with skinks in contact with any opposing players unless it's a desperate situation, otherwise you'll be replacing them often. Stay away from dwarf blockers at all costs if you value your life in any way. Alternatively, they are quite good at dog piling single players, they can get to them from quite far away and one skink might not be very threatening but 3 is a problem. Particularly if you get a blitz roll on the kick-off table. Again, don't hesitate to dodge through the opposing team to get in there, contest the ball and blitz the intended ball handler. I've stolen many touchdowns this way particularly against slower teams. Scoring on two of your consecutive turns can easily tilt your opponent.

I think a 6spp random roll on the general skill chart for skinks is really worth considering! At least half of the options are really good.
@BoneheadPodcast4 жыл бұрын
Hey Stonem001 - you're right there! It's a gamble - as some skills will be garbage, but I've come to think that the General gamble on "Line" players is really worth considering!!

Hello there, I just love your content. Just wanted to point out that shadowing isn't with strength but rather with MA. So It makes chameleon skinks glue to the ball carrier if they don't want to risk blitzing ... My amazones suffered overly affective chameleons that rushed the ball with on the ball.

I've been playing 2 camo skinks and OTB on a pass is really good to put an extra tackle zone on thrower or catcher more than interfering
@NeverTheSame6 ай бұрын
I will say, the Chameleon skink's Shadowing can still make a huge difference if you're marking the ball carrier, especially if you can gang up with a saurus or two. Now, suddenly, they either need to waste their blitz to get your Chameleon off their back before moving, or they're going to have to perform dodge rolls on every step, risking dropping the ball with every square they move, as long as you manage to keep shadowing. Even AG2+ Elves are going to hate that.

Not worth chucking Defence on developed ball carrier? :)

I'm having quite a bit of joy with safe pair of hands and sidestep on my Chameleon ball carrier. It's a pretty great combination for controlling the ball if it gets dislodged.

Do you recommend a star player for this team?
@BoneheadPodcast3 жыл бұрын
I think he best option we have currently is Karla! Or dropping the Krox for Zug! Or even Grak & Crumbleberry -> sneaking Sure Hands onto the pitch via the halfling!

Surprised you didn't touch on taking Diving Tackle and Jump Up on the skinks... makes for great defensive players especially paired with Dodge and Side-Step. Also less TV than secondaries. BTW Break Tackle Skinks is something I NEVER would have thought of... great catch there.
@scottwallbank4794 Жыл бұрын
Im not sure break tackle skink really works from a team building perspective though. Most of the strength skills aren't useful for a skink, so if you want to pick it, thats 12spp and 40kTV. Seems a huge investment..

So I took the 4 Saurus, 1 Camo skink, Krox, 5 skinks and 2 rerolls. Won my 1st game. I have 105k in the bank. I know people will say the smart play is to save for the 3rd rerroll right now but I am leaning towards the 5th saurus. what would people smarter than me do?
@milkwalkerjones6332 жыл бұрын
I would go Apo but that's based purely on personal experience where my Block+Guard Krox got killed by an unassisted Witch Elf because Nuffle hates me.
@mikehawkins3464 жыл бұрын
Nurgle soon please. Oh, and you forgot Jump Up on a Skink, which is in my opinion a top 3 must have for them.
@MangoFandangoBB4 жыл бұрын
Skinks are so fast that they can react to almost every situation on defence. My usual route with them is Side Step+Diving Tackle. But saving SPP for AG 1+ or MA 9 is just what's needed to make you that uberskink. If the stat up is trash, then Block on a double and he becomes an annoying BlodgeSS DT defender who sticks to the ball like glue. Also, Chameleons are hidden defensive gems. Yes Shadowing isn't great, but as a safety behind a wall of Saurii on defence with Diving Tackle and you've just shut down one flank single-handedly. On The Ball works against passes, he may not be great as a PD or INT threat, but he'll add -1 to catch (if the catcher doesn't have NOS) AND -2 to any successful catchers who need to dodge away (when built with DT). I think we should check first to make a Shadowing attempt, and if that fails then Diving Tackle.

shadowing nerv annoy me the most in BB2020, anyone heard about whining people about OPnes of this skill, was not even that popular, even on gutters...
@scottwallbank4794 Жыл бұрын
The stat up is never trash for a skink in that either MV or AG are guaranteed, both of which are great.
@13rym264 жыл бұрын
On saurus I think I would take defensive over dodge 100% unless I'm in a league with a lot of teams with 3 or more strength 4+ players. You aren't going to use dodge offensively unless you're desperate and defensively with dodge they are going to assist to let them choose the die roll. So assuming a 2 die roll regardless from a strength 3 player if they choose because of assists that dodge makes it so you go down 11/36 or 20/36 and they go down 1/36 or 4/36. With defensive you get to choose and go down 4/36 or 9/36 and they go down 11/36 or 20/36. Variations depend on who has block. If you already have block the dodge only has 1/36 better odds of staying up against strength 4 so probably still be worth it over dodge since strength 3 is probably still the majority of what you face depending on your league.
@scottwallbank4794 Жыл бұрын
Defensive is meh. It's a double for an anti-guard that only works on their turn. I'm uncertain on the value of saving for dodge too but I would take it over defensive any day.

Lizardmen Saurus yep Block Guard Mighty Blow If you get a secondary Dodge Skink Stat up's are good here because you are happy to get Movement or Agility Sure Feet to add to the movement Sprint for when you want to go for even more movement Sneaky Git Secondary Block/Wrestle Break Tackle Sure Hands Kick Chameleon Skink I think this is even better for stat ups than the regular Skink because you can make a Passing player which can then pass to any Skink. Catch Diving Catch Sure Feet Sprint Side Step Secondary Sure Hands Block/Wrestle Break Tackle Pass & Accurate to make a thrower Kroxigor I don't think you take stat ups on the Kroxigor the only real good one is Strength Brawler (you might go this for the lower cost then block) Guard Arm Bar (because of Prehensile tail) Secondary Block Pro Dodge Frenzy
@scamp7446 ай бұрын
Unless you are redrafting for a season or two stat increase the strength and then break tackle looks inviting 😬🫡
