I renewed my membership (had to cancel since i stopped playing 40k) because of old world! This game has definitely rekindled a lot of enthusiasm for mini games for myself- thank you so much for putting out content on this game!

I came here for the old world content. It's so cool to see people are as enthusiastic as I am to work on the old world. I would love to get a game in but for now I'm in the middle of repainting my 4 old warhammer fantasy armies to my current standards. Having 15,000 points total to repaint might take a while!

The Old World brings back so many memories!!! My Father and my brothers have the Kingdom of Bretonnia, Dwarfs, High Elves, Wood Elves, and my army, the Dark Elves! I am definitely looking forward to MORE content!!!

Love seening old world being played by your team. a small heads ups: a slann comes with a +5 ward built in so you had not needed to buy the talisman of protection, and becalming cognition also lets you reroll 1 failed dispel attemt a turn.

Re-subscribing myself for some Old World! Love that you guys are getting into this, and happy to see you all have brought back the original formula for Brian. The new one is pretty great and crisp as well, but sometimes that nostalgia flavor just hits right too!

Just to list the mistakes I found at the beginning of list making for the Lizardmen: -Slann don’t need talisman, has a 5+ ward already -Stegodon is named Ancient Stegodon to be able to take the Engine of the Gods, just to not confuse newer players -Core is under the points value needed unless there was extra stuff that wasn’t said during the introduction of armies which happens, the Saurus could be bumped up to 15 per unit if the skinks had nothing on them -List would be over 2k but the talisman of protection would put it within the limit so it doesn’t matter since it was already 30 points wasted It’s a great video though and I love seeing more old world come from the channel!

For future reference: Drain Magic increases the spell's Casting Value by 2, it doesn't subtract from the Casting Roll. Functionally the same for determining if the spell was cast, but not the same when figuring out if it has been Dispelled. The Magic Resistance USR does subtract from the Casting Roll, making the casting attempt easier to Dispel.

Wow what a fantastic game! I LOVE how the center piece being worth so much turned the battle into a spiral of both armies. And there was so much great back and forth with the armies that I was guessing right up to the end.

I didn't see anyone else mentioning this, but Vanhels doesn't allow for multiple units to benefit from the bonus on a higher cast. It gives the unit chosen 2 of the the buff option. The spell that target multiple units on the higher cast is hellish vigour that gives the reserve move to units affected. Also, frenzy is not on the charge only. It works until the unit have lost combat, which it didn't, so those Vargheist would have had a couple of attacks more that could have helped with combat resolution. Edit: You caught the mistakes later, although not in time to help the Vargheist Edit 2: Ok, Im stopping watching a this point, there is simply too many mistakes being made on the VC side. Banshees can shoot into combat, even combats that they are in.

I have an entire, old Chaos Dwarf army. Earthshakers, blunderbusses, and all. The first mini's I ever painted, and I discovered that wow, I don't suck at this! I wonder if a ruleset can be cobbled together out of the new rules. ... I just saw on a website that they are considered Legacy and have a PDF like before. Good to hear. I do believe my interest is piqued.

@2:59:30 I don't think any of the Skink units have the Fire and Flee rule. Being a Skirmisher doesn't grant it. Plus when you Fire and Flee you drop the lowest die from the Flee roll.

Love old world. I was out of GW for years (playing old games though like warmaster, best game ever made) and other stuff. Knowing that I would be going full tilt back into GW’s money hungry fingers when old world finally came out lol. Kept most of my fantasy stuff and loving old world. Nice battle report!

The Old World is definitely something I’d become a member for. I never warmed to AOS and WFB was one of my favourite games (4th ed undead and later a Vampire Counts player here) so this is a clear win for me. Looking now to start a Chaos Warriors army. Also, I know Brian is geographically challenged but I’d love to see him back more often. The Old Guard in The Old World!

Thanks for the batrep guys. Always keen on watching some Lizardmen games. That Oldblood must have lost an arm in a previous war... was attacking with 4 attack +1 for furious charge the whole game basically. He actually has 5 base attacks + furious charge😄

Great game and energy- enjoyed it a lot! Really might have to consider a Vampire Counts army, looks really cool... The Magic debate is interesting. I see the point that putting a mage in a unit limits the mage quite a bit, but I think the idea of putting a mage in a unit must be reconsidered compared to earlier editions. It is not so much for safety now, as it is for using very powerful self spells and assailments in combat. Some of the strongest spells in the game are "self" spells, for example walk between worlds, and the uber-buff in daemonology, but requires a mage to be in a unit. Also, assailments can potentially be very powerful, since they also count for CR, and it is the only type of spell, which can used in your opponents turn. However, if you are not running a mage with these spells, you probably don't want your mage inside a unit at all. I do agree that remains in play spells are too easy to get rid off- Some of the vortexes at least move before the opponent gets a chance to dispel, but other remains in play spells are potentially very hard to use to good effect.

i was getting back into warhammer thanks to old world, but i also wanted to start with AOS thanks to spearhead coming out. I can see that you've based your lizardmen on round bases within square movement trays. Is that feasable? i don't know all the base sizes yet

The Master Necromancer doesn't have access to Vampire powers, therefore can't select flying horror.

Also, Vanhals cast at the higher value let's you select 2 stat buffs to apply to one unit instead of applying the effect to all units within command.

Also Necromancer can’t possibly have doombolt and danse macabre. You can only swap one spell for a signature spell of chosen lore OR a spell from the lore of undeath

I believe you can only overrun from a combat on a turn in which you charged. Unless that's changed in the rulebook.

I don't know when this came out but in the vampire rules it does state that heavy calf you can only bring one model back I do believe I will have to look again but I know you can't bring that money back

A couple big things to note missed in this game. There should have been a lot more rolling for fear tests. Also, you can't test to reform if you overrun only if you chase down and catch a unit. That's the downside of Frenzy units.

Flying Horror is a Vampire power, not something a Necromancer can use. Doombolt and Vanhal´s are both signature spells, so only one of them on the Necromancer. Sadly the shield on the Vampire will make him unable to cast spells(GW´s mistake or intent, who knows).
