I think that unless you're one of the few people lucky enough to be born near perfect (parents with lots of money, perfect face, perfect body, some kind of major natural talent [ ex: athleticism], natural smooth social skills, no problems getting good grades in any of your classes...etc.) life starts to wear you down somewhere around 7th grade; and much of the next 6 years or so is a living nightmare. Things get much better in college, but you have to put your childhood dream of becoming an astronaut, or a writer, or an artist, or a paleontologist or president or whatever, away, and focus on getting yourself a "realistic" job. And once you HAVE gotten yourself a secure, decent-paying job; you have to deal with repaying your college loan, figuring out income taxes, car payments, home-owner's insurance, annual medical exams, health insurance plans, making all of your monthly bills on time, co-workers and/or a boss you can barely stand, trying to climb the corporate (or academic) ladder..etc. So by the time that you're in your thirties, you've become pretty much emotionally numb; just to deal with life.

She doesn't have schizophrenia . If she did then she'd be on medication for it and she'll act like one . The character represents her self conciousness . That's it . How she's feeling and thinking the character then tells the truth to the audience . It isn't that hard to understand . The people who made up that theory thought to much about it and tried to make it unnecessarily deep all cause a character can talk and interact with the audience on how she's feeling and thinking ... To let them know what she's feeling and thinking .

I really liked Lizzie McGuire back in the day. I like the fact that the parents seemed like normal-ish parents compared how most Disney shows portrayed them as stupid. The one thing that I never understood though was how come Lizzie was not good at cheerleading but AMAZING at rhythmic gymnastics?
@sandracaraballo98305 жыл бұрын
Wait I'm actually curious, is cheerleading a "popular girl" thing in schools? I went to a tiny high school, we didn't have cliques, honestly I didn't think cliques were a real thing until a friend of mine I met in college explained her school had a hierarchy very similiar to Mean Girls, and that blew my mind.
@s29nv1sr14 жыл бұрын
For us, it isn't cheerleading, it's girls on the volleyball team and boys on the basketball team that are the most popular ones (and anybody else who uses Snapchat or TikTok or Instagram a lot and wears heavy makeup is the second-most popular). However, they don't dominate the school. There aren't necessarily cliques like the drama kids and jocks and brainiacs because everyone from a variety of groups hang out together. Like, I'm friends with a theater kid and the band kids and the average kids and the art kids and the smart-but-rebel-and-super-into-politics type, and I myself am known as a brainiac. But everybody has their own set friend group that they hang out with only. Sure, the friend group can include different people from different groups, but there's no way of changing the friend group (nobody wants to).
@spottedleaf93464 жыл бұрын
I'm in a military school with 1000 plus kids and I haven't noticed any cliques. I mean some of the band kids hang out together and some of the cheerleaders hangout together, but there dont seem to be any defined cliques.
@ughmuggles18154 жыл бұрын
No, nobody cares. I graduated like 5 years ago but from what I remember, nobody cared about cliques.We all pretty much hung out with just about anyone whether they were into band, sports, art, etc. Cheerleaders on the other hand did hang out with each other all the time, but they weren’t popular as shows make it out to be. The only popular kids in my school were always the ones who were new that transferred. I kind of went to school with basically everyone that I knew back in elementary. The other kids from different schools we’d know from family members or neighborhoods. So it was rare to ever encounter any bullying. Yes we’d insult one another and maybe start drama here and there but nobody was ever truly bullied. (: that’s my experience with school. It was chill. I actually enjoyed it and hated it at the same time, lol.
@babiirae7293 жыл бұрын
I think it’s a southern thing. Being a cheerleader for girls is like being popular and girly and any other sport is seen as tomboyish but popular
@valeriaferrari97373 жыл бұрын
In my schools there isn't really cliques or anything like that. We have a lot of people who went to the same middle school and so they all kind of know each other and are friends, so if you come from a middle school that no one knows about (like me 💀) or are just don't have many friends, then you'll be a bit of an outcast until you meet more people (although the pandemic hit when I was a freshmen so many people in my grade like me haven't had as much of a chance to meet people and familiarize themselves). The most like "popular" people, are the ones who get really good grades and also do sports and clubs. Doesn't matter what, but being involved in a lot of stuff and having high grades means you probably know a lot of people

It's the usual dynamic. Shows with a female protagonist used to have 2 girls and 1 boy (eg: Lizzie McGuire, That's So Raven, Hannah Montana, iCarly etc etc). Shows with a male protagonist, if I'm not mistaken, had 2 guys and 1 girl (the only one coming to my head rn is Ned's Survival). There were some exceptions, like Zack and Cody, that had 2 male leads and 2 female supporting casts, or Wizards of Waverly Place (that didn't really have one single protagonist. It was pretty much split between Alex and Justin).

I loved this show when I was a kid. Somehow, I managed to record ALL of the episodes on vhs and then later burned to DVD. It had a lot of life lessons to be learned from that show. I'd like to argue against the simplicity of Lizzie McGuire because I saw it in its entirety. It's one that I can still quote at 28 just from memory so I don't think it's as bad as you're making it out to be.
@invoice9993 жыл бұрын
I loved Lizzie McGuire because she wasn’t spoiled, she didn’t treat her parents bad, when she knew she was rude to her parents she would usually feel guilty and that was the lesson of the episode. Now at days it’s some how funny to be rude to ur parents? I’m 16 so I didn’t grow up with Lizzie, my sister did, but I watch it because of her and I will say, it’s more relatable and watchable than any other show today
@memo-fq3ps3 жыл бұрын
A show having a simple plot doesn't make it bad though. I don't think that's what Alex meant when he said it had a simple plot. Having a crazy and complicated plot doesn't automatically make the show good (just look at Riverdale, for example).

I remember getting cable TV in 2002. But still, it took a while for us to get Disney going (I'm from Brazil originally, so it took a little time for things to get here).
