Actually he’s watching her for cues so he sings his harmonies in time. He looks at her a lot at the end because it slows and there’s a lot of space, so he needs to see when she’s breathing and singing. Source: a musician who sings harmonies with people (Not saying he doesn’t think she’s great, as he probs wouldn’t have collaborated if he didn’t, just trying to clarify what’s happening in the video)
