Lyrics:
ceilings, plaster
can’t you just make it move faster?
lovely to be sitting here with you you’re kinda cute but it’s
raining, harder
my shoes are now full of water
lovely to be rained on with you it’s kinda cute but it’s
so short
then you’re driving me home
and i don’t want to leave but i have to go
you kiss me in your car and it feels like the start of a movie i’ve seen before
before
bed sheets, no clothes
touch me like nobody else does lovely to just lay here with you
you’re kinda cute and I
would say all of this
but i don’t wanna ruin the moment
lovely to sit between comfort and chaos
but it’s over
then you’re driving me home
and it kind of comes out as i get up to go
you kiss me in your car and it feels like the start of a movie i’ve seen before
but it’s not real
and you don’t exist
and i can’t recall the last time i was kissed
it hits me in the car and it feels like the end of a movie i’ve seen before before

@@MDOT1990 chest voice is usually our normal speaking voice. it's usually lower and you can feel it resonate in your chest. head voice is basically higher than your comfortable vocal range. when you're surprised or excited, you usually talk in a higher pitch. try to mimic Mickey Mouse's voice and notice where the resonance is coming from, then compare it to your normal talking voice.

@@MDOT1990 here’s an easy way to tell if you’re using your “head voice”. Put your hand on the top of your head, if you feel it vibrate then you’re using your head voice, if the note is high enough. My choir teacher taught us that in 8th grade lol

Ok, I’m a 45 year old Dad…I’m not ashamed to say that I love the music that Lizzy makes. I really can’t explain it but she’s reaching into my soul with this stuff. I can’t remember that happening since the first time I heard Joni Mitchell. She deserves way more recognition than she gets. I have no doubt that someday ..the rest of the world will find out what they’re missing.

I really get that Joni Mitchell reference, John, though obviously Lizzy is unique. I'm a 57 year old bloke introduced to Lizzie's artistry via Alix Page this year and unable to stop playing her music since. i think its cool how so many people have different interpretatinos of this song. Some people think of it as a breakup song, others like me feel like its an anthem for hopeless romantics who live in our own heads because love is terrifying in real life
@Fabulousfreak189
@Fabulousfreak189 Жыл бұрын
True! Like my interpretation is she is actually sitting in the car with this person (boyfriend, husband, whoever). And she’s remembering or imagining how things used to be and how he was and how he loved her. But then she snaps back to the present and that version of him isn’t real anymore.

This song was a cure for me during the hardest time of my life. Being in a position where you love someone who doesn't love you back and doesn't feel the same way, you start to believe things that happen in your dreams. You get so lost in those feelings that you start to miss the line between fantasy and reality- until it hits you. when you realize it's not real and the person you love so much is not really that person, you fell in love with a person that you mostly made up in your dreams and mind. It hurts the most when you realize that. To anyone who's reading this and facing the same problem- my only advice is that you try to bare it. There's nothing you can do. Things will get easier with time but I still don't feel "cured" from this feeling after all this time, but time moves on and so will you. You can do it. Good luck.

‘Five seconds flat” is the album of the year, and this is one of my all time favorite songs. The emotion conveyed by Lizzy is something you feel in the core of your sole. Lizzy’s fans (of all ages) genuinely feel this emotion and have responded with much deserved adoration. She is destined for greatness. There are things that can be explained to others, and things that can’t. You either feel what she is singing about emotionally or you don’t. It can be hard for me not get emotional knowing that the songs are about real experiences she has lived through. I do hope Lizzy finds the “love of her life” soon. She deserves it.

to me this is like the hopeful start of a relationship when you're hoping the person will turn out to be the one you've been looking for and the "it's not real and you don't exist" part is the realization that they aren't the idealized version of themself that you want them to be. The person is there with you but the version of them that you wan't doesn't exist.

I honestly love this song, it has helped me heal and move on from a heartbreak that I thought I could not recover from. You heal yourself when you accept that some things are not meant for you, because you deserve better than what you think you deserve. It's a painful, yet beautiful process. In the end, you'll love yourself a little more for it. You'll come out of it wiser and stronger.

This has an early Suzanne Vega feel to it. Lizzy's voice and delivery is sublime. Timeless.
