The experiment of making LK-99 superconductor has been successfully replicated!! A research team from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China just made a huge breakthrough today! Their experiment shows the new little piece of sample has similar properties to the LK-99 sample shown by Korean scientists.
Last week it was claimed that a material that would be superconducting at normal pressure has been found. This substance known as LK-99 was alleged to be superconducting at normal atmospheric pressure and "room temperatures.
Every time you hear a claim about a game changer like this, there is a 99.5% chance it is an over claim and will never be reproduced. Many teams of researchers from different Countries were trying replicating the LK-99 superconductor experiments in the past few days.

Replicating is not a huge breakthrough. South Korea made a huge breakthrough (IF its legit), not China.

It doesn't even show strong diamagnetism does it? Just like an iron filing, it becomes a bar magnet in a magnetic field, one end attracts to the magnet and the other repels? Maybe it is just an iron filing - I played with them as a kid.

Call me not impressed. Why only such a small shard of material. And why the paper and not some glass or transparent material. This smells fishy to me. If you have it shoundn't it be as clear as possible?

Not quite time to break out the champagne yet. No data on resistance, as in the actual USEFULNESS of lk-99. Until that data is in order, this is still up in the air

Their paper has data on resistance - it had current vs voltage and V=IR, I suppose between it's most superconductor-like points, which is a property of the sample. You probably mean it has no info on resistivity which is a material property - but if this material only has small fractions that superconduct then its resistivity is gonna be pretty useless isn't it, because the superconducting fractions can't be measured so easily to give the bulk material property. It might even be anisotropic so there's a different resistivity for each direction as well as being inhomogenous.

I looked again, it actually had resistivity too, which I think is weird considering their video showed it repelled in only a fraction of the sample. Anyway, the internet seems to have decided it's not a superconductor now so it's moot and no wonder they made weird measurements.
