Apparently MZ are the go-to fork gaiters.

My dad got me one of these for when I pasted my test in 1987. I drove 6 miles with the choke on because the cable was tight when the choke was off which I thought would be the other way round. Then the mains or big end bearings went on the first day. My dad got an upgraded bearing kit and it was great after. The same colour as BOONS bike.:)

I thought you would have been a local celebrity at that show! I had planned to come down on my 72 Kawa 350 but plans changed. I could have been the adoring fan!

Hi Mario, a 72 Kawa 350 - I would have loved to see that, I once had a rather rough KH 250 with 350 top ends and carbs fitted - it went like stink on 250 gearing!

What are the arrows for on your side of the road

They tell you to move back to that side of the road and not overtake.

Well ya bloody-well picked the right bike, for your lil 'look about'. (Pay no mind to those pie-faced kids shouting, "BSA, BSA, Basturd stopped again !")

Hi Amelie, it's going really well, I have to say. Hope you saw the bit where an old friend, 'Jez' appears from nowhere as I am about to head for home and comments on 'all the oil' beneath it - I have a good laugh each time I look at that bit!
@amelierenoncule2 жыл бұрын
@@paulhenshaw4514 Oui, you & he would be a rightwell pair to have a few pints with ! We could rehash motorbikes and...and the Boer Wars. BTW, the oil seepage, when they do [mine doesn't], is just a fail-save means to prevent corrosion and rust...and replenish the oils in the tarmac.
@paulhenshaw45142 жыл бұрын
Hi Amelie, mine doesn't leak either - that was just Jez trying to be funny!

Is that a 1968 model Paul? or a '69? With the 8" TLS brakes.
@paulhenshaw45142 жыл бұрын
It is actually 1970 registered, so may be one of the last before the oil in frame models, or perhaps just slow to sell off the showroom floor!

@@paulhenshaw4514 I have a 1970 Firebird which I have had for 25 years now, mine has 7.5 to 1 compression, it used to ping when the fuel was changed to unleaded so I replaced the original pistons It easier to start now

Thanks for a ride Paul, I found out A65 to be quite capable rider even in big town city traffic like Toronto. Used it for 10 seasons before switching to T150V Trident which feels better platform during windy days often happening here in Ontario. Not to mentioned heavy trucks moving a BSA from one side of a road to another. :) Still had enough sentiment for it to build another one. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXLUfIZ-grt5qMk

China rubber rots fast .. my 2001 triumph 12 year add on 2010 triumph factory boots are like new , but i do clean and amour-all them time to time ..china tire inner tubes [ new ] have roted in 7 months and peeled apart like wet bathroom paper .. i reinstalled the 2001 factory tubes and 43,000 miles and 21 years they are perfect .. thats why when you see pix of Russian truck tires military in Ukraine they are cracking and flat from outside sitting and rubber from China .

Were you disappointed there wasn’t more British…or is that norm for the show…I find shows that are Harley and modern get boring real fast…always looking for something unusual and different…guess I’m al ole fart…lol…🇨🇦
@paulhenshaw45142 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately cruisers, bobbers and Harleys seem to dominate around here at the moment, along with retros and 'Power ranger' machinery. I have very little interest in post 1980 machines in any case, but it was just down the road, I was invited and it was something to do for a couple of hours. I was asked to help with the judging, but declined as my heart just wasn't in it, not really being a fan of custom bikes and modern stuff, although there were a few older machines present. I am glad I caught the tail end of when we had long hair and tassles and studs on our leather jackets and wore ripped, oily jeans - too many beards, shaved heads, camouflage and wrap around 'shades' and huge bunches of keys hanging from the hip for me, these days - and that's just the women! [note to 'sensitive types' - that was a joke]

Same thing happens here in the states. Especially here in Wisconsin. Im an hour from Milwaukee. Any and all events that start out with classic bikes are very quickly taken over by the modern Harley crowd. Hey man. Check out my black Harley Davidson. I rode almost 3 and 1/2 miles here. It really sucked man. They’re were only four bars to stop at along the way. 🥸
