FWIW, I'd appreciate it if you took some time to understand my positions on these phenomena. I love your videos, and I really like you as a person. It would be nice to have the added bonus of not misrepresenting my positions 🙏

Hope you don't take offense - much of the commentary was tongue in cheek. I deliberately cut-out the part where you concede that blockers can be important and that the main issue is that some people overprioritize them (I've said the same thing), so I understand that your position is more nuanced than what I am projecting by the video. I just find it entertaining to stoke the GTO v. Exploitative flames (and I think you do too :))

@@FindingEquilibrium hmmm.... kind of a shady move. I think in the long run you are taking away Charlie's followers. If i just saw this video I would be like who is this foo charlie? Blockers arent worth much (1-2 BB at most) but at high stakes 1-2 BB is a lot and if a high stales players syas blockers is bullshit then that person clearly will be losing his money long term playing high stakes.

Before I watch this, I don't want anyone to come away thinking anything but: Llinus would annihilate me in a large sample 😁 I played because I wanted to play the best in the world. It is a challenge for me to take on, to face my own fears, and become more proficient in HU poker. I could feel myself being owned in some spots. It was a humbling experience 😁

Great analysis- interesting how you you respectfully and analytically comment on Charlie’s game and come to a surprising conclusion: over the course of a small sample, the n1 HU player in the world was crushed by someone using his own preferred weapon (GTO) against him!

I don't believe either in those bs "solvers", as if poker were a game like chess.. Like it's suppose to give answers what u should do in given situations, I assume. But the thing is, in a hand u usually don't know your opponents cards, neither do u know what will come on the turn or river (ok u can calculate odds there but still). Or for example when it says you should "call 30% of the time in that spot" lol, so what exactly does that mean, in a unique situation? Or am I missing something..
@synchronium24
@synchronium24 3 жыл бұрын
@@bekeneel The beauty of playing GTO (or the closest approximation of it we have with solvers) is that you don't need to know your opponent's strategy. The best your opponent can do is play the same strategy, and any deviation they make from it will lose them money. "But the thing is, in a hand u usually don't know your opponents cards, neither do u know what will come on the turn or river (ok u can calculate odds there but still)." Solvers address both of these complications by running anywhere from millions to trillions of simulations (depending on the complexity of the spot).

honestly linus is probably way poorer than the older guys who started during the golden age. even trueteller who has a couple of years of headstart and plays way more private games will be way richer Hard to imagine him having significantly more than 5M unless he punted it on crypto (which is peanuts compared to ivey/dwan/galfond/isildur/jungle in 2010)

@@Galvin8 5M is still massive for a pro poker player. Most pros dont even have 5M to their name especially the MTT guys. Dwan was borderline busto after losing to Isildur and Jungle. If it wasn´t for Macau backing, he woulda busted a long time ago. Not sure what he has now but I doubt its anywhere close to 5M. Ivey was busto from the Crockford´s and Borgata court cases, he was backed by Jungle for a while, not sure if he still is.

Seeing as poker is a game of deception, preaching GTO and playing exploitative or trashing GTO while playing GTO would seem to be the most GTO psychological warfair strategy to use against opponents. This may make you look like a fool when folks analyse your play, but no need to care about that while your busy cashing in.

People are so dumb. Yes, he is going to play close to GTO against a GTO player. And yes of course he is going to exploit weaker players since it's the superior strategy against unbalanced players. GTO is NOT the best strategy vs fish! And that's where you make money in poker! Guess what, if you play 6max vs 5 GTO players all of you are going to lose money long term! So the best possible strategie in poker is an exploitative style VS fish and GTO vs great players(if you have to play them!).
