I played this game with my sis when we both were young. Now and then we still replay it together and have a blast and have to finish it again. Man, even knowing everything you have fun replaying it. Good times, great music, great coop. I miss goemon games so much.

Yeah, there is like 15 Goemon games in JP and we only got 4 in the US ever, Mystical ninja for SNES, Goemon for GB, and Mystical ninja 1 & 2 for N64.

Fyodor Pavlovich I love the goemon games to death, and so does my best friend IRL. We like the goemon games more than MGS. The last Goemon game is on the DS and its kind of a remake to the SNES one. But its in japanese only and was releaed at 2007/8. Don't understand why Konami is so obsessed with other IPs over this and Konami have been very mean to their customers lately...

Just happenned to pass by to listen to this music again, and seeing you guys comment made me want to point something that could mean a lot of fun to you =D Since I too love this goemon game I tried something special to "Quadruple" the fun amount you can get out of this game. Here on this Project64 forum page I give you cheatcodes to force the 4 players mode. forum.pj64-emu.com/showthread.php?t=4283 The game allows you to play only 2 players and enable the 4 players mode when you finish the game fully. So you can't play the dungeons with 4 players messing the camera around, because after a dungeon is done, it's destroyed and the only way to play it again is to make a new game. With this cheatcode you can finally have your dungeons and play with 3 other friends. It's a whole mess for the camera I tell you but it's incredibly fun, would gladly revisit that game in a year or two. Feel free to wreck havoc =D

Awesome AWESOME TRACK!! Yeah, it's a shame Goemon never got the popularity he deserved. But there are tons of games and game series out there like that. Some just make it a cut above the rest while others are cherished by the select few. IMO: those cherished by the select few should be lucky to love what they have and be glad such characters never got an overabundance of mediocrity like a ton of gaming characters go through.

Loved GOEMON since i first played Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon on N64, it was 1998 and i was blown away, one of my all time favourite games. And this sequel was a day 1 buy, still replay them every nlw and then. I truly recommend playing all 4 GOEMON Famicom games, 1, 2 and GAIDEN 1 & 2, Now them all in English, and of course Goemon 1~ 4 on Super Famicom are AWESOME.

What does "Ningyo no jutsu" mean?

"Ningyo" means merman/mermaid. (SHION KAITO mentions ningyou, which means puppet.) "no" is a particle that effectively turns the preceding word into a modifier. "jutsu" means a technique, trick, or piece of magic. So when Yae says it in game, the context brings it to something like "Mermaid Spell".

Back when I was playing this game, I never knew how to progress further in this game because I thought I got lost after reaching a dead end with only the pool of water. I also didn’t know that you can transform into a mermaid when you play as Yae or a robot submarine as Sasuke if you swim in the water. P.S. I played this game in Japanese so I had no idea what are they saying in the dialogue, pretty much the whole story, so I had a rough time finishing this without translation assistance and relying on my deep thinking on how am I suppose to press onward and I was like 9 when I started playing this game. I also played the first game but never finished it either due to language barrier. The saddest thing about this is that my N64 console broke down so I never got to play this awesome game again.
