What makes Kevin Paradox’s dance so appealing is the fact that he looks so free to move anyway he wants to move, express how he want to express, and looks like he’s having so much fun doing it, while all his movement is flowing and makes sense and connects..

Paradox really is a dancer like no other. His fluidity, flexibility and overall underrated strength that allows him to utilise that flexibility with such ease and explosivness is top tier and my favourite thing about him is that JRock got smoked by Fikshun.

He's amazing. Complete next level. Hip hop with elements of modern dance. Emotion, connection, controlled chaos. Gives himself over to it. I think he represents an evolution of dance. (I suspect the answer to your question is: the music is dancing him, he is the humble servant.)

I wish I had access to you knowledge when I was first starting dance I watched a lot of the dancers you analyze, but being a suburban/rural kid I never had access to urban dance culture, so I was learning on my own trying to figure out what exactly all of this was. Your terminology years later is still useful in breaking down what my favorite dancers actually do. Your dance IQ is immense. Thank You :)

Paradox is among my top 5 favorite dancers with Les Twins, Tight Eyez, and Slim Boogie. He's amazing and imo if every dancer went off in a hip hop comp like JD he'd be the best hip hop dancer. I think some dancers are better if it was all-styles, but him, Larry, and Waydi are locks to me as the current best 3 hip hop dancers. He's technical with intricate movements like Larry and Waydi along with the crazy moves like Rubix that show off his athleticism that I don't think most people expect. He's probably my second favorite dancer purely in terms of aesthetics of his moves behind Laurent. Great concepts/storytelling, great foundation, his own style that doesn't make you go 'oh he dances like x dancer', speed changes and musicality you see from Criminalz Crew, and all while having a great personality. He's always respectable and praises other dancers he's dancing with. It sucks that he's been losing a lot since he's returned from injury. He's honestly leveled up and has been going off lately, just hasn't been securing wins kinda like Les Twins lately. Hoping he stays healthy and continues to improve. I've been a big fan of him since his battles with Boubou over the years. EDIT: I think with your question of how he can be humble, but raw plays into something I saw another KZbinr that does analysis and reactions named Otis talked about. He did an analysis of Paradox's battle versus Laurent and applied pack theory to it where Laurent is the alpha and Paradox is the sigma. Alphas want the spotlight and to kinda flex on everyone else as a power move while the sigma just does their own thing and allows their skills do the talking for them. Paradox is raw since you can tell he's confident in himself even if he doesn't make it obvious. In most of his battles he'll kinda have a look on his face like 'I'm killing it' rather than a 'I'm killing you' staredown type of look that you see from dancers like Les Twins or Tight Eyez. Very, very similar to Slim Boogie. Slim will have a look on his face when he's going off, but it's all in his own world rather than taunting you. I'd love to see an exchange between the two of them for this very reason. Insanely skilled, but humble.

Thank you Robert. Paradox is just amazing. I thought you would have mentioned his accident/surgery and his arduous journey to recovery. I agree he is humble and that is very rare in the danceworld and it's endearing. In my opinion he his one of the most whole and well rounded dance artists I've seen. Yes..he is articulate and true to his craft. I feel popularity comes secondary to his art.. Hence his love for his craft shows. I applaud you for your analysis. It was on point.👊

He's a self taught Dutch dancer who had an injury late 2016 at the ankle, so it took 3 years to perform the surgery and for him to recover and come back to the dance scene. He's still recovering, hence why sometimes he dances with only socks on

Yo Robert great video! Have you ever heard of the French dancer Swody? Pretty reputable and has a very charismatic krump / popping fusion style. He also has a decent KZbin presence but, in my opinion, is still criminally unknown. If he doesn't get a feature in an episode - still worth checking him out if you aren't familiar! He has my vote for the next dancer you consider featuring.

8:11 Go on his channel whenever you have the time and he breaks it down piece by piece how his thought/dance process is. It gets to a spiritual level. I feel for someone to get to Kevin Paradox's level of dance you need to be taking care of yourself Mentally/Physically/spiritually. I believe he also did Martial Arts when he was younger, and i can also see that in his dancing as well. Dude is different! lol
