Maan, you are too smart. For sure whole dance community is so thankful for your help, your words, your lessons. What you do means a lot to me. Big love

My way of being creative is: 1. Concepts - if you have a concept as a certain way of moving or a style you can then create moves within that style & concept 2. Lines, angles & anatomy - how your body can move and the mechanics of the limbs, muscles, different angles with the body and the lines of the body in different poses and positions. You can also use the negative space to create the illusion of lines which aren't actually there for example a right angle gives the illusion of a box even though only half the box is there and mime is another example of using negative space to show something which isn't there but is an illusion. Can also have different limbs using different lines all at the same time moving in different directions 3. Continuous motion - where the last move finishes the next move begins, you can start or stop a move at any part of the body. For example wave to the feet>do something with feet>wave back up....you can use turning, isolating, rotating shapes & changing perspective of moves by taking moves to the ground, etc... These are my main ways to be creative

Kevin. Today I felt fear to dance on the stage a front of 3 singers. I work as an animator so I felt obliged to dance, even do my manager didn't ask me for it. I was having a battle with myself inside. After all I had to release all of this stress through crying. I couldn't sleep trying to find the reason why and I noticed that I'm very hard for myself. After watching your video, I realize that all I need is a break from freestyle, and just living my life for a while. Thank you. It is hard to believe how smart you are when you talk about processing your dance in your mind. Great!

Hi guys, I'm super happy I was able to record new Ask A Paradox for ya'll. Hopefully I answered some of your dance questions on the topic creativity! As said in the video please do not take my advice as the total truth. I can only give tips from my own experiece, but how those tips resonate with your dance is up to you to find out through practice. I would love to hear from you in the comments if any of my advice resonated with you. Hopefully this was a usefull how to video and I was able to shed some new light on being creative!

🤣🤣🤣🙈This is crazy. I have been ignoring Kevin's channel for months, because of a very crazy reason. And today I told myself OK its time. It's Sunday afternoon so instead of logging into Club Djoon's channel let me now watch Kevin. And here I discovered that Creativity is creativity across many fields. A dancer. No let me call Kevin what he is. A creative not a dancer. That's putting him in a box. A creative just explained blockages to me in a very cool, honest way. A gift wrapped in a motivating Enigma placed in a human dancing form... What a Paradox.

Paradox are you going to start or do you already have a clothing line. I really love the shirts you have been wearing with your name on them. The one you wore at the return of your battling in the peridot green and the one you have on in this video. If you do have a line could you put where we could purchase these items, I’m hoping for this. Thank you 😊

Love this part of ask Paradox, it opened my thought quite a bit, i habe this dancerblockage right now, and i understand now what to do, just because of what you said. I have to step back for a little and find myself again, or else im not really going to grow as a dancer, because my mind is holding me back. Thanks Kevin🙏🏻 you are truly a mentor for some dancers out there.👌🏻

I'm not sure if I agree about what you said when you say we should not to be stressed when dancing and you must feel good. I feel in order to experience the good things dance has to offer (emotions, good vibes, expression, etc) you need to be disciplined. And that means most of the times you don't feel necessarily good, or you would choose do something more comfortable (playing video games). The good stuff come when you submit yourself to the stress in order to brake barriers and achieve new learnings and emotions, that will worth it when you get there. I think that can be generalized to other areas not only to dance...

Thanks Kevin for sharing your insight and being a inspiration in many ways. Hearing you talk and especially seeing you dance and expressing yourself opened my mind again and seeing dance more as the art form it is. I always loved music but starting to connect to it on a deeper level again and trying to express myself by dancing like I once did as a kid listening to Michael Jackson. I wished I hadn't lock it away for so long and hurts a bit that I had to unlock it by looking at video's on KZbin. I'm already 32 and it feels like I'm too late to dedicate myself to it as much as I would want to or even make a career out of it. Are you still teaching and are there people in your classes near my age? Hope you recover quickly and shine on a stage once again soon. Take care!

I really loved this content! Especially the topic of how to apply a vocabulary, helped me a lot. About the limits that create freedom, this connects with something very simple that I heard from a teacher: dancing to a song, whether choreographing or improvising, I don't follow the proposal to unload everything I have, but to give to her only the lines of expressiveness and movements she asks for.

What makes a high level hip hop dancer ? Or someone’s hip dance advanced .are there things that need to be met as a prerequisite of some sort ?
@Th3SmileyProject5 жыл бұрын
Just practice and experience really. The more time you spend repeating and experimenting the technique, the more you will understand the style. A professional can easily see the difference between a dancer who does the moves and a dancer who understands them. All because of experience.
