This is a little secret for the people, who lived in Thailand longer. When you buy a sim in Thailand. Try to hold it longer for two years. There is a secret price. No foreign know. When you hold on to that sim phone number from Thailand sim more then 2 years. All the monthly cost or one year deals. You will get 20-30% lower of the original price. There is a secret deals only spread to Thai. Since nearly all the foreign doesnt read Thai. They will never know this. This is good deal for long term staying people. It is going to be much more cheaper. Then any Western phone company could ever offer. The catch just must hold on to the sim and phone number for 2 years. Every Thai people already pay much cheaper price. Then all the foreign people. You even get a text, when you reach the 2 year mark. With a cheaper price.

How do you deal with the QR code if you've only got the one device you're trying to get the eSim on? Can't point a phone camera at its own screen. Do they also give you a link to click?

Do you need to remove your sim card in your phone?

Depending on your phone most likely, no. I just turned off my local SIM on my S22 Ultra and turned on the Holafly ESIM. Holafly sends you detailed instructions on Email/Whatsapp on how to do this on both Apple, Android (including Samsung separately). I recommend setting up their ESIM the night before you leave and turn it off until you land at your destination. I also saved their instructions to a PDF on my phone in case I needed it offline.

Hi Should I remove my sim card when I get the esim especially if I go off airplane mode when I get to the country I bought the esim for. I don't want to be charged for roaming with my sim card.

You mention phone calls. I thought it was only for data. Are you talking about WhatsApp calls?

Have tried this e-sim before but they did not have calls/texts then, just data? You mention that phone calls are now available? Are you sure?

Not through Holafly. Now if you use something like Viber (which is basically another app like Whatsapp) you can pay $5.99/month to get unlimited calling. I installed the app on my phone before leaving in case we ran into a situation where we needed to use "basic" calling but we ended up not using it. We called our son using Whatsapp (both voice and video) for free from France and it worked perfectly. The only drawback is to make calls through Whatsapp the other recipient NEEDS to have Whatsapp installed. But like I said Viber for a small fee should work.

my wife and I will travel to Europe (4 countries). Can we just setup the Holafly Esim to just my phone and I'll enable my mobile hotspot so my wife can connect? She does not need to install and purchase Holafly? And do you enable the esim before flight? Thanks in advance for the response.

Holafly gives you a limited amount of "HOTSPOT" data. My wife and I thought about doing this but then you always have to be together for it to work. It was only $44 dollars/phone so we just bought it for both phones. We are glad we did since we split up a few times and could just use Whatsapp to "text" each other. We were in 5 different countries (Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands) and it worked perfectly in each.

Just letting you know, Thailand and my Sim card was relatively cheap and I got unlimited unlimited data for one month. It cost me about $50 Australia. I don’t know how that compares with unlimited at the same time.
