Honda gearboxes can be some of the best out there. In my time, I've owned a Concerto, a Mk8 Civic and now I have a CR-Z hybrid. Very snickety and precise gear changes in all of them.

@@user-sf7kl9uh7k I believe it might be Aisin, although I could be wrong. Absolutely love the slick and positive action on these boxes.

Aisin may well be the automatics, not sure about the manuals. Hondas are generally very good cars.

Enjoyed watching you do this. I have an Australian market 2006/7 Accord Euro Luxury, black with black leather, 17 inch wheels. Ride is pretty firm on bumpy roads. It was lowered with sports springs and a camber kit by the first owner. I bought it beginning of 2015, with 132,000kms. Now it’s done 279k. Beautiful car to drive, still nice and tight but needs good rubber to get the most out of the handling and road holding. Engine and gearbox are bulletproof when serviced regularly- with city driving, mine gets new oil and filter every 5k. Ancillaries like aircon and power steering not quite as bulletproof but my car has had a lot of use. Anyway thanks for the review- I agree that these are a very good value car

That is absolutely crazy! Getting on for 200,000 miles, isn't it. I am sure that it will just keep going if you look after it. I think that this is one of the best cars I have ever done on No Budget Reviews, and certainly one I would own myself, but I would need a beige leather interior... I think that I can excuse the air conditioning and power steering not always functioning completely after that sort of mileage!

I remember these…tho I didn’t have one myself Built like a house and 2.4 VETEC = FAST. I remember the commercial that launched with this….about how smooth that other non petrol engine was supposed to be. Earth Dreams moniker….tho, that badge was also used on later petrol engines (I have one).
@lloydvehicleconsulting
@lloydvehicleconsulting 16 күн бұрын
Yes, the engine is really good. The Earth Dreams badge is indeed a common thing to see on many petrol Hondas.

Ran an 2003 2.4 Accord Executive Tourer for 12 years and 200k miles, great cars if you keep them maintained. Engine is strong and reliable, just not that refined at higher revs. Took family all over Europe and up to the Arctic Circle in it when it was over 150k miles and not a single issue.

They do seem to be one of the most reliable cars of their era, actually. They aren't problem free, and you do have to look after them, but they seem better than many other similar cars I have reviewed.
@lloydvehicleconsulting

It's strange that they offered both the single and twin carb variants. One source said the single carb was HL only, another said you could also get a single carb HLS, so I am not sure quite what to believe, but I do know the Vanden Plas was twin carb only. Strange that the twin carb setup is far less reliable. Thank you very much once again for watching and commenting!

Lovely clean styling. Before the era of tortured sheet metal and Acura’s Horrible “Power Plenum “ design language. Known as the Acura TSX in the US. And finding one with a manual is a rarity. Much less flabby than the larger Accord we got over here
@lloydvehicleconsulting
@lloydvehicleconsulting 16 күн бұрын
Yes, the UK market Accord was very different from the American one, and many of them were available with manuals. This was pretty special, they aren't that common over here any more. I can't imagine those Acuras were that common either.

Hello Joseph , They do drive a lot better with 16" wheels on you would find , also now a lot of young'uns like to take the engines of of these and put civic tyre-r heads on to the blocks and put em in EK , EP3 civics and make em go dead fast !

Hello , The road tax is a little high on these , did the gov change the tax rates as at one time there was a break around 2005 but now not ? When ever I see one about I think they look small now but they where a big car when they came out .
@lloydvehicleconsulting
@lloydvehicleconsulting 14 күн бұрын
It's around 2007 for the tax cut off, as my 2.4 S40 doesn't suffer from it, but when I drove a C70 T5 from 2008, it was in the super tax bracket... They probably were a fairly large car at the time.
