I mean it's not even like we can really get mad at Undertale fans for just... discovering the original song I guess? And we can't really get mad at Toby Fox for doing something literally every game dev has done at some point in their career, which is paying homage to something they love. Hell, let's face it, Bad Apple is hardly even known for being Touhou, most people hear "Bad Apple!" and immediately get flashbacks to when they religiously listened to Vocaloid and UTAU covers of the song. Similarly U.N. Owen Was Her? is kinda just more well known for being the Ronald McDonald Insanity song at this rate. What I'm getting at is... you can't really be too mad at innocent people for discovering Touhou through arguably more popular material. I discovered Bad Apple through Vocaloid, U.N. Owen Was Her? through Ronald McDonald Insanity, and while it's not a song I discovered Yuuka as a character because of the "always rember" meme. Why approach these people with hostility and bombard them with suicide encouragement when you could just... I dunno, give 'em a warm welcome to the franchise, tell 'em what games to start with, recommend other songs to listen to, tell them basic details about some of the characters. Tell them things that will get them interested in the series instead of pushing them away from ever getting into Touhou by harassing them for the Godawful sin of enjoying other things that, hey, you may not enjoy, and that's okay! Actually, i don't mean to destroy the picture here, but Yuuka is only usually depicted as a insane psychopath via the fanbase, canonnically she isn't really that psychopathic. Until ZUN decides to do something with elly, in which case... yay..? Its not directly stated but its undeniable there are a lot of Easter eggs relating to touhou. And to add on to what someone else said, he did play Touhou before. Some of the attack patterns are ripped off of some characters. Some of Asriel's abilities are almost identical to Marisa Kirisame's, for instance, right down to the star patterned bullets. Honestly if you play bullet hell games, chances are, you must have at least heard of Touhou before...

Okay, so... I was reading some of the comments the other day and was like "How does undertale tie into this?
