If you put a 6.7 starter on there it’ll crank so much faster. All you need is a longer bolt, 2 washers, and a nut to be able to use all 3 bolts still. I put one on mine last winter and it was a world of difference.

Turbo flutter is normal there is not a blow off valve to expel unused pressure… it’s that intake, she is breathing like never before and can’t use all the air! Don’t worry about it !

That turbo flutter is normal when you upgrade the air intake and the intercooler pipes. It is getting a lot more air than the stock one, so that's why you can't hear it on the factory intake.

Sounds like the Turbo Vains may be sticking (The Bark you hear). The turbo can be taken apart and cleaned...Also pull the codes and see if you have a Exhaust back pressure code. That can affect the VGT on the turbo to act up. EBP sensor is on the drivers manifold it will build up with sot and also the tube its connected to can buildup. And she will hold codes without the check engine light on... Sweet trk. I have an 04 with 53000 on her!

On security torx you can usually stick a flathead in the screw and twist and it will break off the little peg. It doesn’t always work though

Jokes aside , I tested almost every part of my truck I did on my 6.2 highcountry , I picked up 14 Rwhp from my s&b intake (no tune).. so technically if you’re a dyno number guy , it does help .. ported manifold added 21 (but like 30+ on curve gains), cam kit and ported heads added 75Rwhp , LT headers and y pipe added another 20ish I believe , ported TB added 12ish , Paired with e85 tune and a few other bolt ons and engine work I went from 348rwhp stock , to 512rwhp .. Everything adds up and serves a purpose

I wouldn’t worry too much on the new loud flutters. Factory intake setups have a bunch of ribs, channel’s and passageways that kill the linear air flow. Some factory intakes even have resonators built in that are little dead ends to cancel out intake noise. Bad for air flow, good for noise cancellation. My guess is Ford didn’t want the general consumer to hear that glorious 6.0 suckin’ and blowin’ like us gear heads enjoy.

Pretty sure it’s normal on a diesel with a performance intake, turbo flutter is just pressure releasing out the turbo when you let off the throttle, it’s ok for a diesel not really ok for a gas engine which is why only turbocharged gas engines have a blow off valve and diesels do not, the reason is because there’s no throttle plate in the way so it’ll just release the pressure out the intake, as long as there’s no drivability issues I wouldn’t worry about it

There’s a chance you mass air flow sensor is going bad and not giving signal causing it to do the turbo flutter stuff. It just happened to me and after I replaced it it was all good.

🎉Why didn't you go with a cold air intake box. So it doesn't suck in the heat in the motor. Adding that you should get A bank's intercooler. Condense that air. Answer your problem from the surging there's an upgrade kc turbos that will allow the excess air to go out without surging problem. You can get it with the rebuild. It's not the veins to get a more air then it can handle. You'll just have to take that turbo out and put that kit in there and it's just a little piece that will take care of the surging.

The way that turbo sounds when you shut it down at the end of the video, I would be looking to replace or rebuild it. That's some chunky sounding internals. You should also be seeing about 25psi stock, 15 is undewhelming.

All diesels do the flutter especially when it’s under load like you said then immediately let off I’ve been told by multiple certified technicians that all turbos vgt or non vgt do this unless a blow off valve is installed my 2019 L5P does this every time I pull my camper and I thought my turbo was bad or my compressor wheel but the dust but even GM said all turbos do it so idk I’ve never heard a complaint about wherli custom fab parts I myself ordered their intake

There intakes are worse that stock need a box that sucks only air from outside the engine bay if you monitor your intake temp sensor befor and after you will see that also you want your ccv to be hooked pre turbo there is a small amount of vacuums that occurs sucking the pressure out of the crank case without this your likely gonna have oil leak issues do the the pressure pushing oil past seals
