When nitril gloves catch fire they kinda react with your skin so it basically becomes one with your handwhich means, you have to remove the whole skin of the hand in order to replace it with new skin so it can heal. But they are very resitant against chemicals, thas why they are mostly used in laboratories and because i work there i know this.

So what the springs on the exhaust do is hold the pipes together and when the exhaust heats up it then expands the pipes whichs keeps them from leaking?

Yep, you've got it. It allows flex during expansion while holding it all together nicely.
