Whether Esme has or hasn't remembered it makes little difference to the fact that Spencer isn't fit to raise Ace. He's too much like his father and is a fool to trust Victor. That's why in the end, I imagine Laura and Kevin will be the one to raise their grandson/grandnephew.

So Laura gives Esme about $60 and she thinks she can just up and leave with her baby. She doesn’t have any memories or even a phone, yet she’s going out into the world. She’s supposedly nursing, so she won’t need formula. How about diapers, clothes? That’s not enough for a place to stay or even a bus ticket. Even if it was, then she’d have no money. Where would she go? This is dumb.

Yep. That whole scene was just so we could see that Spencer was right to believe she’d run away when given the chance. Thus giving his “I have to live under the same roof as Esme” plan more weight. Because I had the same thought; $60 won’t get you to the end of the block, let alone build a new life…don’t get me wrong, ppl start new lives with nothing all the time, but GH isn’t telling that type of story.

@@nfgc86 True, but not usually with an infant. She cracked me up when she told Spencer she would take care of her baby. Does she think she’s going to just hang out at Laura’s. She need to ask them to watch Ace, so she can get a job and get out of there. Unless she can prove she can stand on her own, she’s setting herself up for them to declare her unfit. Someone else brought up that no one has told her that she has a trust fund or contacted Maggie.

@@tr738 she went to an wexoesnuve boarding in France and was raised by a nanny. She has to know she comes from money. I feel like the only reason that hasn’t been addressed is bc the show wants her to be dependent on Laura and Spencer as a plot point. The story in general has too many plot holes. I don’t think her financial dependence on them would technically make her unfit though. Because she’s secured her child all of his needs by making this arrangement.

@@tr738 I think the show had a bigger role for her initially and scrapped it. For me, i was underwhelmed by the little bit of Maggie we did get. Her presence would’ve packed a bigger punch if they had brought her on during the trial. So if they’re going to bring on an outsider for esme, bring on one of these adopted family members that doesn’t talk with her.

I like redemption Esme and as a mother, I’m a firm believer that Ace needs to be with her. Spencer can’t judge nobody with all the stuff he has done. They need to leave Esme alone.

Amnesia or no amnesia Esme worst crimes were drugging Trina and trying to kill OZ. And her previous personality traits are beginning to come out regardless of her memory loss. She is not fit to raise a child even if she is his biological mother not until she has paid for those crimes and can prove rehabilitation. Spencer is arrogant and spoiled but his worst crimes were actually done by Esme. Having a child does not make you fit to raise a child. However GH is definitely trying to redeem Esme. But their forgetting one thing this young mother who has no memory of her privilege life has not once said anything about getting a job to help support herself and Ace. So that previous entitlement is coming out and she has the nerve to say something about Spencer's privileged life.

I think it’ll be about both since they’re so closely related. Cam cares too much about Trina to not consider her when discussing this esme/baby stuff. I think they’ll talk about esme getting out of jail, Segway into the ridiculous living situation, and end talking about how all this impacts Spencer and Trina’s relationship.
