How well do the LSX 454 hold up to boost? Gm said the thinner cylinder walls weren't boost friendly.

@3rdgenguy the lsx 454 is capable of withstanding up to 2,000 hp. The ls7 on the other hand has thinner cylinder walls and that is why it’s naturally aspirated. That’s why the zr1 had the ls9 for boost. The biggest difference between the 454 lsx and ls7 is obviously displacement lsx (7.4L) ls7 (7.0L). Other major difference is lsx is cast iron compared to cast aluminum. Lsx has 6 bolts per cylinder head plus all internals are forged,Compared to the ls7. Lsx forced induction is very reliable and built for extreme hp

how did you get l480E to handle the torque??

Have it built by a shop like PTC they can build lots of gym transmissions to handle 4 digit hp and torque numbers.
