I own this awsome amp i've had it bout 5 weeks now and the youtube videos don't do the sound any justice. It is 1 of the best sounding amps i've ever heard. My friend has a 5150 and I have a 6505 and it blows both of them out of the water. I have some other friends that have Marshalls and Mesa's and they have all said that this amp sounds as good or better than there amps and I agree. This amp is a beast and it is so versatile. You can literally dial in any type of music you want from country to classic rock hard rock to metal. I honestly don't think theres another amp out there that can match up with the sound of this one and the price is unbelievable. Any body that is wondering about this amp it's a great sounding super tone machine and you want b disappointed with it at all!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the 333xl combo and I love it but one day I intend to upgrade to this amp. I would say the 333xl would be better for more classic stuff as it is a more classic amp design where as the tri rec has a lot more features and can no doubt nail some more "modern" tones as well as classic stuff. Both are great versatile amps though, what did you end up going for?

sounds great. I just picked up the bugera 6262 combo on musicansfriend for 330 including 3 year warranty. Not my 5153 head but very loud and a fun amp to play with. I like playing close to it with the feedback infinite sustain. So many tones I can't get elsewhere. The 6260 is demonstrated elsewhere on Tonekings channel. I agree that the 6260 is a sparkly amp. But than can be a good thing. Put an old Les Paul in front and it is amazing. No kidding. The Trirec is the next stop for affordable toys when I have a few bucks.

Considering the varipower and volume settings and the fact that his face wasn't peeled off, I'd assume he's using the Line Out for the recorded guitar sound i.e. no color from the power tubes. Preamp line out on budget amp + maximum gain = fizz. Nothing warms up a grainy, direct preamp guitar tone like power tubes and a passive speaker. I have a feeling this sounds a LOT better in the room.
@shredtilyurdead

nice acoustic chord progression TTK! To come back to the amp I love the user friendly features on it. Biasing can be a pain if you cant do it yourself also the varipower is handy for when you want bedroom tones.Seems like Bugera thought of everything.I love it.

Hi everybody!:-) I went to the music store today and tried this one out. It's definitely a promising amp in both appearance and sound. It was brand new and hadn't been hooked up to a speaker before. They know me in the shop and just let me go and do it. They were having trouble with their credit card terminal and while waiting for the clerk to fix it, I thought I might as well make a little noise for like 5 min or so. Oh, well... I hooked the amp up with a speaker cable into one 16 Ohm 2x12 cab checking the impedance setting carefully before connecting power etc. (moving slider to 16ohm) The amp did actually play for about 3 and a half minute before the LED on the stby started to flicker and the amp began to gradually loose volume. Before the amp went totally dead, I actually managed to check its back to notice that nr. two tube failure light was on. After that: No more Bugera, folks! So much for infinity, huh? The guy in the store didn't actually seem too surprised! He said it wasn't the first time somebody had fried a Bugera and returned it. Well? I know. The guy could be just full of excuses and I know that one should not fall to conclusions after just one test run and I guess that every amp manufacturer makes monday amps now and then, but this thing does puzzle me. I think many of us have tried at some point to connect an amp from the wrong impedance output. I actually did that by mistake once, but the amp did not blow right away. I played with it for hours before I noticed and corrected it. It was a 100 watt head different brand, though. And it never blew up because of that. What could have gone wrong here? I can't help but thinking that at 1/4 of the Mesa Boogie price, you've got to think twice despite promising looks and sounds!
@TerminalPassage
@TerminalPassage 7 жыл бұрын
Seems some people get unlucky with their amps, generally most times I see a comment about any issues they are pretty old though which makes me wonder if they just needed to improve their QC. Also who knows what abuse the amp had taken just being shipped around, also how do you know it had never been plugged in? Music stores are notorious about misleading the condition of used gear.
@jeppejac
@jeppejac 7 жыл бұрын
Yup, people get misled sometimes and unlucky, too. I don't say I have the philosopher's on this one. It did seem a bit cheesy to me, though. If you'd recommend this manufacturer, then go for it. That's fine by me. MESA, who makes the original Rectifier, are not necessarily a bettter choice. Especially not for you wallet.
@TerminalPassage
@TerminalPassage 7 жыл бұрын
I have had my Bugera 333xl for at least 2+ years or so and it still works and sounds great even with stock speakers and tubes. I may have just gotten lucky as I just bought it new online without any testing. I like to judge based on products instead of brands and it has worked out good so far, Mesa is way to spendy for me.
@jeppejac
@jeppejac 7 жыл бұрын
Any manufacturer makes a monday model sometimes, and most Bugeras might be just fine. I ended up buying the ENGL fireball 100 but did consider the Bugera 333XL for some time, mostly because I like the Peavey models it's trying to sound like (XXX) and it has onboard noise gate. Now that's a benefit when playing high gain amps in places where electricity isn't well grounded. Good specs, low price, all that stuff, but after the Trirec test, I didn't buy into it. And you're right, I've been staying away from the manufacturer all together since I think it's fair enough to relate a manufacturer products to the manufacturer as a whole. I suspected, and still do, that each manufacturer has an attitude, a standard that they keep, and when something sounds too good to be true, well... at least one should think twice. It's just a hunch, but that together with the fact that Bugera mostly produces Chinese laboured amp heads heavily based on either American or British models kinda makes me suspect a questionable business- as well as quality attitude. I don't think, contrary to what others claim, that components are of much lower grade than in competing amps, but what about work conditions? Just how abusive might they get to push prices that low? Anyway, that's political and has nothing to do with sound at all. - If you're fine with the 333xl, that's great. Hell, I might even get one after all. There ought to be some real cheap ones around by now and it's always great to have a spare amp, right? How do you like its noise gate? How does the head cope with transportation? Have you tried to change tubes using what they advertise as autoadjusting bias? Does it work?
@TerminalPassage
@TerminalPassage 7 жыл бұрын
Jeppe Jacobsen Read up on bugera, they actually have solid conditions from what I have read. They have their own manufacturing complex and it sounds like a solid set up especially for China. Been awhile since I did any research but I believe I read they actually have employee housing and medical facilities on hand. As to your questions, I have not changed tubes so I can't comment there but the infinium seems to be holding up nicely. The noise gate is pretty solid, minimal tone impact and it can really help tame high gain noise. I tend to use the clean channel the most and drive it with pedals but the crunch and lead are both intense. Pretty much the same with the lead being hotter but it's nice having 2 separate dirt channels to dial in. The effects loop can be used as a boost which I really love and the reverb is pretty solid. Definitely a lot of amp for the $, occasionally I wish I had looked for a nice used vintage amp but overall I am very happy. Also I have the combo which weighs like 77 pounds and I have carried it around no problem. Drove it around in a car a few times with no case and it has held up alright so far.

I am pretty much sold on this amp. Largely due to your video. But Man>>>>honestly, what's up with the EQ out? Most of us guys want to hear the amp and guitar. We know what a fender through 6L6 sounds like. I want to hear pure pre and power stage with no eq, modeling, or anything. Also, what cab are you playing? I am pretty well set on going with this tone beast going through a pair of Orange PPC 212's with some phasing and other little tricks. Maybe you could comment back to me on what you think that would sound like in your opinion. I would like to make clear that I dig you review verbally and the showing the different voicing of the amp in the different states of gain and using the guitat to hit the more harmonic tones.

I own this Amp and it is truely great but I have a problem with the footswitch. It used to save the individual settings (Reverb ON/OFF, Boost ON/OFF, FX-Loop ON/OFF) for all 3 channels but suddenly it stopped working. Now it only lets choose these settings for all of the three channels combined and not for any channel individually. Does anyone have the same problem and/or knows how to fix it? Is there maybe a function on the amp to control that?

He had pushed the gain to 10. Which causes a fizzier sound. He dialed in the amp differently from other reviews. In my honest opinion his dirty tones for this amp are buzzy and lacking. It doesn't show how well the amp can perform.

Why doesn't any amp I've looked at have enough gain for the harmonics I use? It seems no matter how much I like the sound of the amps, like this one, I don't think I could get the long sweeping harmonics (think Dimebag, Reb Beach, George Lynch) without adding a booster pedal in front of the amp which adds considerable noise. I love your demos Tone King.

Maybe the tone you are seeking was the result of people boosting their amps? Or maybe you just need hotter pickups, that can be a huge factor with tube amp response.

Terminal Passage I use Evolution pickups in my main guitars and I still boost the front of my amp.

Have you tried a distortion pedal? Very possible the tone you seek is from a dirt pedal going into a hot amp.

This amp has plenty of gain for harmonics. This guy is not dialing it in properly.. He makes it sound like garbage.. Look at Ryan Bruce and Ola England's vids on the trirec

I believe TTK did at least two videos of this amp and it didn't have a good metal in either review. I don't even know what style of music I would use this amp for. It just doesn't sound good to me. I will take a look at feardse's review though.

Not to my ears. These sound a lil fizzy compared to Mesa boogie imho. Still an amazing amp for its price tag, no doubt though.
