He has the greatest smile. Proud to say that I slept on the sidewalk many times in the 80s to be front row at their shows. Ahhhhh, that was one of the joys of being an 70s child. ❤️

this looks and sounds from the early 2000's. He was really modern in the way he saw things back then. Predicting the death of the music industry wasn't so hard, but the fact they let people pick the songs on the tour setlist online is something very new back then. Metallica only did that on their last tour, amazing Sixx!

@@Drummer_Jeff83 my guess is their record label (Elektra) owed them a significant amount of money from the deal they signed post Dr. Feelgood so around 1991. Elektra thought they would get more albums of the success of their 80s catalogue but instead their two albums from the 90s massively underperformed expectations. So instead of keeping this band who wasn't selling up to expectations around and financing them they struck a deal giving Motley the rights to the masters and waiving whatever money was still owed on Elektras part. Now this is all just speculation and I could be 100% wrong.

Nikki remembers stories differently as the years go on, lol. I watched a recent interview where he recounted the Kickstart story and said that their manager (didn't specify which one) came over to his apartment one afternoon, saw the napkin with the lyrics on it, said: "What's that?" And when Nikki played it for him on an acoustic guitar, the manager said, "You HAVE to bring it to the band. It's a great idea!" Nikki said, "Nah, it's not right for Motley." He didn't think that it was suitable for Motley at the time, and so on, but he presented the idea, and the rest was history.

@Drummer_Jeff836 жыл бұрын
@Joey Punk I actually didn't care for sixx a.m. either until I read that book. Their songs make a lot more sense now since it's basically a soundtrack to the book. On the contrary, Motley had two other drummers besides tommy. Tommy left the band in 1999 and they got Randy Castillo from Ozzy's band. He got cancer and had to leave the tour so then they got Samantha Maloney to do the tour. She used to be in the band, Hole. And as far as what he relapsed on, I'm not 100% sure. I was under the impression he meant smack but also in the book, he says how happy he was he never tried heroin again after he got clean
@Drummer_Jeff836 жыл бұрын
@Joey Punk no problem man. Yeah I have always been a huge fan of the band since I was like eight years old or something like that. I actually just read the heroin Diaries last week for the first time so a lot of the information is still fresh in my mind from that.
