I have the same board with the same setup. You get a better experience if you change trucks to Paris V3 (the new one has V2), but maybe it's only a matter of bushings idk. When it comes to the wheels Dad Bods are really heavy and it's better to change them for example to 88 mcfly wheels. A great advantage of this board is that it actually never generates wheel bite regardless of wheel size or how sharply you turn.

Appreciate the suggestion! I think I’m gonna sell the dad bods and try something like that instead before totally writing anything off. And that’s a GREAT point about the wheel bite!

@@AhmedOkby I like mcfly, they are the most shock-absorbing wheel for that tiny format/low weight. If you are on almost smooth roads, Pantheon Karma wheels are faster. If you have super smooth streets, Seismics are the way!

I'm already into Ldp and Bracket boards, but I'm happy that Loaded did this (and hopefully a second, long& flexy model) at a price that's non low, but lower than an average bracket board. I hope that this (and the Pantheon Supersonic) will be the "gateway" for people to discover ldp /long distance skateboarding!

Love this board. I'm an old guy - 52 - and don't have an interest in downhill (translation: old guy in hospital) at this point. Was my clutch board for a few hours at Miami Ultraskate in February. Rode a SUPSkate Endurance 45 for about half the distance, then the Fathom with Dad Bods. Used a SUPSkate Race Pole the entire time for that "land paddling" experience. After ~50 miles, I needed to switch up to something with more vibration absorption. The Endurance setup feels amazing, but the additional urethane in the Dad Bods' diameter, plus the diameter itself, let me do another 30 miles. I was on a 4-man relay. 80 miles is no big deal for most of the athletes, but I didn't have the track for the full 24, to put it in context. My only improvement would be to go with a longer deck, which Loaded just came out with, the Tangent. The Endurance and the Tangent will be playing tug-of-war with me every day. Which ride to choose? Great review here. I appreciate the different perspective. So far, on flat ground/false flat, I've topped out at 20mph. 30 would be a trick for me. Nicely done!

Great Video! Love the Camera Quality and the good sound Quality! Nothing ruins a good video like mediocre voiceover quality! I can see the issue with the dad Bods, having 85er wheels certainly help, but kinda remove the unique factor :D In the end it's a relatively limited board, in that it is mostly for pushing. But it's still very fun to ride!
@kimmersxa
@kimmersxa 10 ай бұрын
😊 I also have the Fathom! But I currently have them setup with the new Pantheon Karma wheels which are 92mm in diameter, but they’re also surprisingly light wheels too. I had to splurge on them after reading the reviews and specs! I also had them on the Caguamas, 77a, and they were nice too. The wheel size really makes the board more of a hassle to carry like a smaller board, but I have discovered the beauty of DIY handles atop the trucks! They also sell handles for electric skateboards on Amazon that can work too. It makes the whole carrying thing less of an issue when you’re carting your board like it was carryon luggage 😅
@OgdenSikel
@OgdenSikel 10 ай бұрын
Oooo I’ll have to look into the handles! Do you think the board is worth keeping with different wheels? I was considering selling it, but maybe I’ll just sell the wheels if that’s the biggest difference maker?
@kimmersxa
@kimmersxa 10 ай бұрын
Honestly? Sell the wheels. You were talking about how it was too easy to kick out and slide out under you. Maybe try a softer durometer wheel so they’re more grippy. If you have any wheels that are between 75mm-86mm on you that are softer , try those out first!! But I would still suggest either making a handle out of old cables that you can secure down with the front bolts of your truck or just going on Amazon and spending $19 like I did! Because carrying it with the bracket weight and the truck weight and then the wheels, it’s not crazy heavy, but it feels cumbersome.
@kimmersxa

@@OgdenSikelI personally have a lot of fun on this board. It’s the low ride height and it’s less strain on the knees and the way it feels like I’m riding a cloud/hammock. But every one is different in their preferences!!! Do you have any caliber 3’s or bears in the 165-180mm range? Maybe you might like the feel of a different truck under there 😄

This is what you call a bracket board. Bracket boards first came out from a company called G-bomb and they were made of metal and the brackets were super expensive. So G-bomb and some other manufacturers starting coming out with Nylon ones which are less expensive, though I have to wonder how durable the brackets will be over the long haul. The cool thing about bracket boards is that if you wedge and de-wedge your trucks, you can create a pumping set up. You can create a pumping set up with Paris trucks, but it is best to use trucks with a spherical bushing such as Don't Trip Poppies... but spherical trucks are super expensive too... just like metal brackets.

dayummm. Super detailed and clear insight right here. How would a noobie/novice want to set up this board to learn pumping? Like, as a general rule, what might be a place to start w welding, dewedging degrees, etc.?
@cricket9878
@cricket9878 26 күн бұрын
@billieball1 Hi there! Pretty much any board can be pumpable. A lot of people initially create pumping setups with a top mount board -- either a pintail shaped board or a board that looks like a Heinz 57 ketchup bottle lol. If they really like pumping, they might spring for a more expensive bracket board which gives them the flexibility of being able to push and pump whereas a top mount pumper is harder to push because of the deck height. Also regarding trucks, you can use Bennett trucks, or you can invest in Don't Trip Poppies that have a spherical bushing. Don't Trip trucks are very expensive (it would be nice if other truck manufacturers would make spherical bushing trucks) but they are a worthwhile investment. Anyway here's some KZbin videos to kind of help you learn about how to create a pump setup and to help you learn about bracket boards. Skate on! 😋 I hope this helps. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnzLoWR5bMqknNU kzbin.info/www/bejne/nIebloyirtN1h6c kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4KbdKKugLGHY68 kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6qygnV5fMpkicU

Found this video as I’ve been looking for Loaded Tangent reviews (esp the surfskate edition), but this was close enough to help me decide if this style board is a good addition to my collection. I used to ride more but after knee surgery, I haven’t been able to as much and I think this board might help me build back up the muscles in my legs and confidence! I have 4 other Loaded boards: Dervish Sama, Fattail, Bhangra, and Vanguard. The top decks have been harder to use with the knee since it’s the one I push with. My Sama is much better with being low and stable, but I also live in Philly with old and messed up streets.

Thanks for the video, I was intrigued by this board, I built a similar setup using MBS 100mm wheels and a kegger beercan board deck. the MBS wheels are great as they have much better traction, I tend to ride at higher speeds so slipping out is a major concern. The all aluminum deck also cuts down on the overall weight but makes for a rougher ride. I added a rubber spacer to eat up some of the vibration / lower the ride height and added a washer to the trucks to get a extra mm to avoid wheel bite. I've tried the 110mm cloud wheels also which are good but a bit pricier, after about 100 miles of riding I'm still on the fence if they are any better.

I've put on over 100 miles on this board and it: Is very forgiving and a great beginner board. Is better with the Caquamas unless you do distances like me and then they are awesome, ( hold speed excellent and roll over every rough road). Is a surprisingly good pumper and carver as well as being very agile for this type of board. I use mine with a Braap stick and that is a perfect combination for fitness and distances. The 'flairs' on the board are great for foot placement and wheel rub protection. The bracket can be broken if the board hits something so add a handle or bumper if you are clumsy like me. The board isn't for everyone, but can do a variety of things well. - Cheers.

Subscribed! I was watching your video on my computer but I wasn't signed in but wanted to ask you a few questions. 1. I recently got a scooter on Amazon and been practicing some of your tips on some of your other videos for balancing and riding for beginners. I was originally interested in a longer skateboard or a long board to eventually turn into and electric one but wanted to get the basics of riding before I got it converted. I would be using it to get around town and possibly off road? I'm less likely to only use it at a skatepark for tricks.. 2. I saw tail and ( head? ) guards for boards to protect them and curious if you think it would be worth it to put on for protection for when you need to jump on and off curbs. 3. I would like the option to get electric for the board In thinking of getting in the future and curious what you would recommend. (Saw the video on the vibe ride break board looks very cool) Back on subject.😂 I like the larger wheels because my area has a lot of cracked roads and sidewalks. I've seen the 72 for tires put on a skateboard but really what do you think would be better for someone transitioning from a scooter which has 8 inches wide and 16 inch long foot area. I am 5' 3". 👍🏼 I like your videos and look forward to your reply.

My problem with Loaded is that their complete always uses older version of trucks. For example, they include with Paris V2 instead of Paris V3 and their surfskate edition uses the older Carver CX trucks instead of newer CX trucks that is lighter, stronger and way nicer looking. Seems like they are clearing stocks for these companies instead of making the best board possible out of the box.

@ My first board is Loaded, so I’m partial to them. But comparing what they are doing lately versus what Pantheon is doing lately. It’s a shame. I like the look for the Tangent but if you buy the complete it comes with Dad Bods or Caguamas, I want bigger wheels but the Dad Bods are just too heavy, while Pantheon Hoku are a little lighter but on a board like Tangent, it’s alot of difference. And I think the formula for otang wheels are just outdated af. I know i can just build a custom, but for the carver collab, the board has carver logo which is cool but you get older trucks. Which is frustrating for us. On a side note, I swap my Fathom from Paris V2 to Paris V3 and changed to the Karma wheels, and trust me, that’s what it should be as stock. Night and day difference.
@OgdenSikel
@OgdenSikel 28 күн бұрын
thats cool to know, I really wasn't impressed with the stock complete, but maybe this could breath some life into the baord. The Dad bod wheels were for sure very heavy and I feel like they slip out on sharper turns which is a big no no. I have never tried a pantheon board before, I used to think of them as kinda mid, but recently I've been hearing lots of good things coming from them. My first longboard was also a loaded (tan tien)

@@OgdenSikelNice, you started with Loaded also. Just switch the Wheels with either Karma, or if you are okay with heavier weight then the Hoku, Green on if you want more comfort, Pink one if you want more speed. Then change to some Cuei Race bearings, V3 Paris trucks with Venom SHR bushing, Cone on road side and barrel of board side. You’ll make this board come to life. I suggest if you need to change something first. Change the wheels, then the Trucks with Bushings, Then the bearings.
