This is a great deal when it comes to new cars. Every car company needs an option like this. You get all of this for the price of a Corolla! That's hard to beat honestly. It's a modern little SUV that blends in with the crowd and that's just fine. This is a great option for anyone that just wants a normal A to B vehicle.

I've always had Japanese vehicles, but this American/Korean vehicle's design language and price range caught my eye. The 1RS in Nitro Yellow, with the cloth seats, manual chair adjustment, 18' wheels and sunroof is my choice. I hate their real or/and fake leather seats and the digital gauge cluster! Great review as always!

The good: 6 spd auto (no CVT). The bad: 3 cylinder engine. Summary: A Fantastic value if you don't mind a 3 cylinder engine.

Power-wise, it makes more than some of the 4-bangers from competitors. The Nissan Kicks only has 120 hp or something like that. That Hydra-Matic 6-speed doesn't have a very good track record though. Might drive better than a CVT but may not last any longer.

@@dhjtfvv567 3 cylinder engine is not automatically bad, but it has the complication and stress on it from the added turbocharger to give it adequate acceleration for US tastes. Plus it’s a newer, unproven engine and will have GM reliability which usually not great. So, it will be a risky purchase.

I tend to be a fussy buyer but at this price point I am willing to overlook a lot of things. I had a 1982 Toyota Tercel years ago that didn’t even have a day/night rear view mirror. It was the most reliable, honest vehicles that you could ever ask for. I drove it 14 years.

Dual exhaust would add more punch without upgrading the motor. I have cars with 2.4L single exhaust and a GM car with same engine and dual exhaust. Enough of a difference with dual to actually give the dual exhaust with a little fun factor.

For the people in the back complaining about the 3 cylinder engine . Better get used to them unless you are going EV. The Ford Bronco Sport has a 1.2l , The Chevy Trailblazer has the same engine as this Trax. The Nissan Rouge is now 3 cylinder. It’s where the market is going. I didn’t say I like it. I like the styling, how it's a more refined version of the Blazer's look that benefits from the discipline imposed on stylists by a smaller vehicle (necessarily more glass/less swoopy metal) . I also fully approve of the idea of crossovers morphing back into station wagons.

I’ve had 2 cars with auto dimming mirrors and i like the manual ones better because the ones I had in 2 different vehicles wasn’t sensitive enough and when the cars behind at distance didn’t dim and it drove me nuts.

26 grand for a new vehicle is beyond astonishing, especially within the economy these days where vehicle prices have sky rocketed. I mean for 26k you get a pretty adequate amount of space and features and it doesn’t look that bad. It actually has some flare and character to it. Yes, there are no LED taillights but take in to consideration of all the features you get. Theres a lot of used cars more expensive than this and chevy has put there all into an affordable crossover. Well done Chevy 👏

It does not. But it can recline pretty far so you can still pass a long object into the front as long as it can be somewhat elevated

This is a variant of the PSA 1.2 turbo engine that uses wet belts to drive the timing and oil systems. Many engine failures with this technology. The belts start to fragment at mileage as low as 50K and the pieces end up clogging up the oil pickup which ultimately trashes the engine. Also, read about the Ford 1.0 turbo engines with the same wet belts. Chevy claims the belts last 150K, but I don't believe the engineering supports this claim. At best, it might work as a 3 year lease, but it will be way to expensive for the long term.

I honestly can't think of anything less important. Especially on an economy car. Which would you rather replace, a $3 light bulb or a $700 light assembly? In my personal experience, LEDs tend to burn out almost as often as conventional bulbs.

I really loved this new design and the specs for the price are really good. I've been looking for a not expensive small or mid-size suv (not for family, just for me ). I would buy the top trim, BUT I live in a small town where it snows so much, so I must have AWD or 4WD. I don't mind the small engine because it saves more gas (than my current suv), but having traction in all wheels is a necessity where I live 😢😢😢. That is the ONLY thing that is holding me back from buying it.

It should sell well based on looks vs price assuming the build them in volume. However, I still notice the shortcomings. Tiny engine plus turbocharger plus GM reliability may mean lots of in warranty and out of warranty repairs and low resale value after the used car market goes back to normal. Maybe a bunch recalls and back ordered parts delays due to it being a new GM model. Other annoyances include no light colored interior for hot, sunny climates. Has adaptive cruise control, but not down to zero MPH stop and go. Looks like the adaptive cruise control kicks off at 25 mph. So, it won’t help you in slow morning commuter traffic. The tiny engine likely will have no highway passing power and may be loud and buzzy even before it and the turbo attached to it start going bad. Still seems like the nicest looking new vehicle in the price class. I would probably wait and see how it holds up for first year owners and wait for the 2025 model before considering it.

Loaded for $25K plus another $5k dealer mark up. For the same price you can get a nicely equipped Mazda CX-30 Select with a 191hp 2.5L NA engine and a nicer interior.

I have a 2RS on order hopefully you can answer this question my sales man didn’t know. Does the 2RS have home link (garage door opener) have it in my equinox wondering if it’s in the Trax. I was impressed with the Trax because my lease is almost up want a cheaper payment but not drive a plan car was very impressed with the Trax.

You have to understand that turbo 4's are top engines now so a turbo isn't an issue.

And knowing the car market nowadays, you're going to be paying substantially more than $25K for that Trax. It's too popular. Don't be surprised if dealer lots have them listed closer to $32K or $35K. Also.... hard-touch arm-rests on every trim level? That's where they did a bit of cost-cutting?? Ridiculous! Thankfully, GM hasn't abandoned their age-old practice of creating twins. Want a proper soft-touch arm-rest? Get the Buick Envista, instead. Plus, it has better styling than the Trax.
