You are missing an important component. Bushings. I was a pool boarder for a long time and switched longboarding. Stability also comes from bushings. I ended up using Orangutang Purple Nipples. They are really good and work great on Paris trucks. Wheels are always dependant on what you want to do with them. For commuting the orange and blues that are on the boards are both fine. I am looking to buy this board with the blues and V3 165s. I will change the bushings to purple nipples straight away as they are great pumping bushings. Am 55 by the way and still board so don't worry about age.

If you want Fast/ Slide with Stabilty, give Loaded's Coyote a try. i highly recommend it with CX trucks if you like your Omakase.

Just got one of these and I’m new to skating completely. I’ve been playing with a Landyachtz Switchblade 40 which has been a great way to learn the basics but for around the hood it’s cumbersome as it doesn’t turn well. I found the pine Omakase with the orange wheels on sale for 120 bucks off new and got one to try out. Having videos like this is encouraging being as I’m totally new to skating at 38 years old.

Great to hear thoughts from a new rider, enjoyed the commentary. Discovering how things affect ride feel is a lot of fun. *Longer wheelbase adds stability, narrower trucks increase turn & grip (bit less stability).* 🤙🏼👌🏼👌🏼🤙🏼 lower degree (43degree) baseplates/trucks add stability and are great on the rear (split setup) but if you do very fast downhill you should use lower degree front and back. More lean with less turn.

AMAZING INFO. and EXACTLY WHY i posted i literally feel like ‘am i the only one’ (who hasn’t got a clue and wants to get other peoples advice and opinions on the subject) this super clear explanation tells me that i am not and that there are people out there happy to share tips and advice thank You so much 🤗🤗🤗 😆😆😆 🙌🙌🙌 i have a split set-up but 43dgree front 50dgree back 😳😂😂 but only because i could manage to finish changing BOTH and didn’t want to not skate so just left it 😳 🤪🤪 😂😂😂 and have also just learnt to tighten the trucks much much more and using harder spacers but still can’t slide well most likely (definitely) bottle 🍼🍼🍼 terrain 🛣🛣🛣 and speed (below 20 mph as fast as i dared, so far 😱😱😱 and for my ‘skill level’ ZERO 😳😐😐 😂😂😂) i am using 86a orangutans but was wondering about trying another type but also realise that that is (almost a whole) science in itself also when I try to position myself, knee in back of knee and arms behind back I loose all stability and just fly off i have managed a couple of times but become seriously unstable in that point and ride position is there like ways to work towards that position 🤔🤔 anyway moving at ANY SPEED makes me so SO HAPPY 🛹🛹🛹 and makes me feel like i am doing something for fitness i am just of the opinion that as long as i can stand (and in the few short moments i get to indulge) i want to mess around with this type of activity long and short riding the day after i always feel like i’ve been beaten up, even my calfs hurt 😂😂😂 i have time and the inclination and interest, so EVERYTHING is new and interesting i LOVE IT @eBoard3R (finally 😳😂😂) thank You for the commentary comment, Your understanding for my motive for posting is totally appreciated 🤩🤩🤩 🙌🙌🙌 have a great one, (be) well, safe, happy 🥳 😆😆 🙌🙌🙌

@@benuchie We are lucky to live in an age where we can share our thoughts, explore and look stuff up, keep experimenting and keep discussin how the ride feel changes dude!! Yeah bushings affect how you turn so tightening the trucks, changing bushings to different shapes and brands makes a big difference. (Spacer is the thing that sits between bearings of the wheel). I learned a lot from watchin, readin, always happy to share. I enjoy hearin the experiences of others. I look forward to the next video dude.

The blue wheeled board is likely to have 'soft rubber, double, barrel bushings in the trucks so you can 'carve' (turn very easily) and the Blue 77a wheels help grip in the turns. The Orange wheeled Board has a longer wheel base making it more stable and orange 80a wheels making them firmer. This board may have firmer rubber, double, barrel bushings in the trucks so you can have more stability. I'm a small low weight rider so I buy orangantang soft (orange) nipples. If your a larger weighter rider a bushing change is very adviceable as Desert Rat said. Its amazing how cheap bushing are and how they can transform you ride when you chose the right firmness for your weight and riding style.

I'm thinking of getting one of these, I'm same as you, new longboarder. Great video & review! THE best I've seen regarding real review especially the different truck positions. I'm thinking of going Paris 50° 180mm with 65mm remember lil hoots, I'd mount the trucks outwards. Harder wheels eg 80a - 83a will allow slides easier than softer grippy wheels 76a & 78a. The ride won't be as comfy but easier slides at lower speed. Bushings will help adjust to YOUR size to set it up,and for how cheap it is really 1st place to start. I'm definitely following, can't wait for your thoughts on the new wheels. I want to learn to slide & go down some mellow hills. Nothing to fast just enough to slide. Great video 😊

@@duncanmckay2036 good choice (and) my thoughts also but still not totally sure that the case (43’s being ‘more stable’), so please ask about do more research ([definitely] than i have) 🕵🏻‍♂️🕵🏻‍♂️🕵🏻‍♂️ me i was approaching it in a ‘logical’ (totally un-skate-educated) way but some said (can’t remember who) that the 50° were 😳🤔🤔 my ‘logic’ was closer to the ground, more stable 🤔🤔🤔 but haven’t had chance to do any proper testing also saw a YT mention on running 50° front 43° back set-up so started trying to change trucks (i really do get easily distracted 🤪🤪🤪) and ended up with a 43° front 50° back set-up but through (who cares) and ran with that for a wee while before the weather turned and various distractions distracted 😳😂😂 also now have the orange orangatang knuckle bushings that i have YET to (find the mental space) to sit down and fit 😳😐😐 again my only point being make sure your sure (have a good think about the 50 or the 43 [or get both and you can mix them 🤗🤗🤗) now it is me who can’t wait to see and hear what you end up getting and your impressions when you do p.s. after a fairly ‘hairy’ start i bought and now ride with all the gear, helmet, arm and knee pads and got good slide gloves it took a while to learn to stop so for a while it’s a wee bit precarious better (now) safe than sorry for us oldies 😳😂😂 if not you then definitely me 😳🤣🤣🙃🙃🙃 have a good one once again thank you for your words and best of luck b. 🥸 out 🛹🛹🛹

just to throw this in there, 80a wheels are generally soft/grippy, especially orangatang wheels, which makes them not the best for slides, or at least not as good as 83a-86a. Orangatang wheels specifically only come in 4 durometers 77a(blue), 80a(orange), 83a(purple), 86a(yellow), same colors apply to their bushings too, nipples/knuckles. Also with slides, lip profile and core placement also play a factor, whether the lips are rounded (better for sliding because they grip less) or sharp lips (more grip = harder to slide). Offset core placement usually means more grip because the wheel can squish and form to the ground easier, making it harder to slide whereas centered cores don't do this and offer more even wear to the wheels overall because you can flip them around.

It looks like a lot of money spent to solve a speed wobble problem that could be solved with bushing and practice. You’re probably riding with your weight on the backfoot like a lot of newbies do. You bought 43° that are meant for downhill when you already get speed wobble a 20km/h, they are going to give you confidence until you rich a speed you can’t control as you are inexperienced. Wrong idea.

I'm thinking of getting the blue in heats orangatangs for my omakase, I have the complete grip and rip with the yellow orangatangs in heats. So much difference?

for me it seems the only way to find out is to experiment and discover 🤔 i have no idea what i am doing 🙃🙃 having maybe spending more than i woild have (if i had) but am learning (very, very slowly) and just trying to have fun (fun in general, fun with the subject/ this {for me} interest/ 'hobby') as i have mentioned below (to dl65), my only motive for posting was to allow others to see the boards more clearly than any (many videos) around (at the time i posted) and maybe have people comment and share (on the subject) and as a result learn... i am currently distracted by scooters 🛴🛴🛴 and an andy anderson vert board build (posted by braille army), so (some might think) i am everywhere and nowhere but i am enjoying it and (again) very, very slowly building in confidance and knowledge (thanks to people who have commented below and the olympics etc...) to hopefully find a set-up (or set-ups) that feel(s) good (personally) to me and skate within my abilities... i also fell a couple of times and am fast discovering it takes longer to heal each decade that has passed (now in 5th) 😳 🥸🥸 😂😂😂 hope you enjoy your new wheel choice 🤗🤗🤗 skate 🛹🛹🛹 safe and have loads of fun 🥳🥳🥳 thanks for your comment 🙌 🤩 🙌 b.(en) 🥸🥸🥸 in e.(dinburgh) 🏰🏰🏰

I didn’t know they were different shapes. So the redwood has a larger platform and smoother larger softer wheels? That’s a shame I liked the black one’s design more, wish it was more cruiser orientated like the redwood.
