You are definitely getting the hang of pumping! It is just one of those things that takes time on the board. Stoked that you like them so much! Sorry about the installation hassle. That is the toughest part about making something that fits every board out there because there is so much variety. We are coming out with a new version of the Surf Adapter that will be able to fit Paris trucks without any risers. We should have those in late July-early August.
@gooz4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Haha yeah, I’ll be putting the time in for sure. It’s all good, I can see how designing a universal adapter could be tough since each board and truck is slightly different. I’m just glad it only took some riser pads to make it work for the Paris trucks and I’m able to ride my board with your adapters! It’s great you guys are responding to the reviews and are working on a Surf Adapter that’s able to also fit Paris trucks. I’ll be sure to buy the new version too and put up a video review. My friend’s so excited after seeing the video that she’ll probably be the new owner of my current adapter once the new version comes out!

Hey, I found it a bit finicky installing mine too, and one of the reasons was the tight spaces for the bolts. I was trying to use a pretty thick spanner wrench that couldn't move very far without making contact with the adapter parts. I wonder if you would consider going ikea style and including a little throwaway wrench that is small cheap, but perfectly sized for quick installation?
@WATERBORNESKATEBOARDS4 жыл бұрын
@@MarktheLandlockedSurfer Yea, we actually have included spanner sets like you recommended in the past. They were quite useful for tightening the bolts that attach the Surf Adapter to the deck, if you don't have a wrench or pliers to hold those from spinning, while you tighten the bolts with a phillips head screwdriver. then the best way to tighten the nuts that attach the Surf Adapter to the front truck is with a skate T tool or a socket.
@MarktheLandlockedSurfer4 жыл бұрын
@@WATERBORNESKATEBOARDS It was actually the rail adapter that I found trickier since you can't get a skate tool in there!
@WATERBORNESKATEBOARDS4 жыл бұрын
@@MarktheLandlockedSurfer ahhh I see what you mean, and when one set of nuts is in there, it can be trickier to get to the other, especially with a larger adjustable wrench. Ok, we are going to work on this.

Hi Mark you might want to try the Curfboard trucks. I got the Waterborne before I got the Curfboards truck and I never have gone back to the Waterborne truck for some of the same reasons you stated.Curfboard work so much better for pumping and carving , lower to the ground and not heavy!

Hi, do you think what is the best setup for a cruiser deck with waterborne adapter? Tq (reserve kingpin or traditional kingpin trucks)
@gooz4 жыл бұрын
Hey Erick, I got the following info from quickquiver.com/2020/08/26/waterborne-surf-adapter-review/#RKP_vs_TKP “I personally preferred using the larger setup with RKP trucks. However, a TKP setup worked well on the smaller deck. You turn in much more rapidly with TKP trucks though, and that’s magnified substantially by the surf adapter. My recommendation would be to learn on a RKP, and perhaps set it up with TKP trucks on a cruiser once you’re good at surfskating. But if you want to just jump right in, the TKP setup on a smaller board was a lot of fun, even if it’s a bit more difficult. I think you should still stick to keeping a TKP setup on a shorter board when you want that quick and snappy feel, and the RKP on a longer setup for the flowing and powerful pumping.”

Whoa! Never seen them before they look super dope. I was actually just hunting around for reviews on this board itself. Do you like it so far? I'm not sure I'm going to get the adapter, though. I hope it'll be easy enough to pump by itself.
@gooz4 жыл бұрын
I like the Omakase! It’s comfortably wide and I got a setup with huge wheels for smooth riding, making it a good cruiser. With its regular trucks, though, it might be tough pumping it while the adapters make it so much easier. But if you’re looking for a good board dedicated to pumping without using the adapters, I’d recommend the Loaded Poke “surf simulator” setup (using Carver trucks). I’ll post reviews of them both soon!
